Bills flaws starting to show
Andrew in CA replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3 running plays for 16 yds after the Lynch TD. This after 20 running plays for 86 yds and a TD, including 6 on the TD drive. Why did they abandon the run? Also, on the failed 3rd and Goal from the 1, why oh why did they use FJ when Marshawn is a better piledriving back? It didn't make any sense, and I don't blame the line for that. -
It's not the end of the world folks!

Hah, yes, and I'm as guilty as anyone in vacillating uncontrollably in opinion after games. However, a loss like today is way more frustrating to me than the AZ game. I'll never be off the bandwagon, but goddang I'm unhappy right now. -
True, and I apologize, I'm just testy b/c the Bills lost a perfectly winnable game today. You're right, life isn't over, and they are still in first in the division. However, it irks me when I see projections or hear people say, "at his rate, the Bills will be.." because it's BS, no one knows how the season will unfold. If I'm not mistaken, the Lions were 6-1 last season before they tanked. Let's talk at the end of the season, where I hope we'll all be celebrating.

I'm not off the bandwagon because I've already made myself a permanent mainstay there, but you can;t tell me this loss isn;t one of the most frustrating in awhile. It was a winnable game that the Bills were actually winning, nay dominating, and they coughed it right up. I'm really pissed off, and I'm really hoping (and think they can) the Bills win the next 2 games. No, it's not the end of the world, but it wasn;t a type of game a team can afford to lose. -
Dude, really? You're going to stop caring now that they are 5-2? You wont even wait to see if they make the playoffs? Ok then, good riddance to bandwagon fans. I'm sure the Giants will take you.

My Personality is Splitting

Hah, I know that this week will be f'd for me.... I'm pretty unbearable after a loss.... Although I think I'm pretty modest after a W, if I do say so myself... -
Again, players talk about being "unprepared"
Andrew in CA replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are they saying this? Seriously, I can;t bear to watch football related stuff until 36 hrs after a loss... if so, that's embarrassing, they shouldn't go blaming the coaches after a loss even if the coaches deserve it. I just truly feel the gp was f'd up today for whatever reason, and they abandoned the running game at the time it was most effective. -
Yeah, and he's really shown it this season IMO. Take today for example, early in the 1st Q, maybe on the 1st Bills' drive, he caught the pass 2 yds short, lowered his shoulder, and broke through 2 tackles for a 1st and then some on 3rd and a handful. Although I was happy with Hardy today, JR was missed come crunch time. Cue: You don't know what you got 'til it's gone.

No, the question here is gp vs. execution. You really feel that the gp was good, but the execution was bad? Really? If so, we have a giant gorge of disagreement b/w us, and that's OK. I don;t mean to attack anybody, I'm sorry if I'm coming across as harsh, I'm just so mad the Bills lost a perfectly winnable game..... -
He's pathetic.... I've never liked him, and at this point I doubt I ever will.... I don't know about a midseason cut, but he'd better not be on the team next year.... a waste of space....

So what was good about the gp? Leaving McGee on an island against a WR he clearly couldn't stop? Abandoning the run the moment it delivers a TD? Having Royal in the game on the final meaningful play of the game after 2 dropped passes? This was the first time all season IMO that the gp was :censored:ed, and there was little the players could do about it. -
The reason why we lost...
Andrew in CA replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're joking, right? Up until the Bills gave up on the run for no reason, after the Lynch TD, they were straight up dominating the run game. The Dolphins were getting embarrassed on that TD drive. Now, why the Bills abandoned that game plan right after it was so successful is beyond me, but don't tell me you that what you took away from this game is that we can;t run the ball. There was plenty to take away from the game, but not that. -
He may not be McGee caliber yet but McKelvin has the speed and sight to be a real factor at this position for awhile. I mean, we've seen the same games, but I just disagree. He's looked good enough to me and I feel that he can be successful in the future. As for his CB skills, let's hope he improves, but he looked decent enough against the Chargers that I 'm not upset by any means. Besides, I trust the Bills's FO when it comes to DB's. Royal can go himself, I've never liked him, and unless he does a 180, I never will.

Right on. Parity is the answer. There is no dominant team, and I still believe the Bills can be a real SB contender this year. Can anyone name a team that the Bills simply couldn't beat? And vv, is there any team that couldn't beat the Bills? Aside from the Lions, I think I'm in the clear on this.

Trent - Crashing back to earth....

TE wasn;t fully on point today but he wasn't bad either. Aside from his disastrous and inexplicable fumble that cost the Bills the game, I thought he played well enough to win. All we can hope for as fans is he learns to stay low on QB sneaks for 1st downs and never ever throws to Robert Royal again. Let's all deface the Royal's whatever sign at the Ralph before the game next week, because he shouldn't be on the Bills's roster. -
Cut Robert Royal
Andrew in CA replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more. The Bills gp to start the game was pathetic, and when they stumbled upon success with the running game at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd, they quickly abandoned it for a less successful, utterly disastrous gp. To run 3 straight passes out of the end zone is baffling, for both typical DJ, the success of the running game all day, and common FREAKIN sense. -
An embarrassing day for the coaching staff, and DJ should take all the blame for this egg. It was horrible and a total surrender. What a shttty way to start his extension. That being said, I have all the confidence in the world that the Jets gameplan will be solid and successful. This day was just so frustrating that I am....... mad.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
Andrew in CA replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is irrelevant. The Bills lost a fully winnable game today. It is upsetting and should not be tolerated or tossed aside b/c they are "on pace" for an imaginary record. This is the NFL. Dropping games in which you are dominating the line of scrimmage and momentum halfway through the 3rd quarter are unacceptable. This loss is so much worse than the AZ loss in my mind, b/c it was imminently winnable and the Bills tanked it at the most pivotal moments. Save your platitudes about imaginary records for after deserved losses, it provides no relief now. -
Yeah, I think you're right. Although I was so blinded with rage/disappointment at that point I couldn't quite tell....

Cut Robert Royal
Andrew in CA replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really does, KT, it really does. Royal has been more unreliable than reliable in his Bills tenure, and to go to him at such a pivotal moment was unfortunate, especially because he was WIDE OPEN. This piece of crap couldn't hold onto a ball all day and it's a shame he was the one TE went to when the game was in its final throes. The playcalling in this game was abhorrent, why they abandoned the run after the Lynch TD will be beyond me for awhile, until I see the Bills in the playoffs. I don't think we should cut Royal, but just understand him for what he is: a complete waste of a roster space that could be dumped on the practice squad as soon as the Bills get a halfway decent TE. Derek Fine, you're up. If you don't do a thing, I'll be celebrating when the Bills draft/trade for/pick up in FA a reliable TE, a position that has been conspicuously neglected since Riermersma. -
Although I'm not calm right now, b/c the Bills absolutely BLEW a victory, you are right. There were enough positives in this game to assure me that the Bills can be a very successful team. Poor play calling doomed the Bills, IMO, but Jackson was impressive, The DLine backups did OK, and I liked what I saw out of Scott. However, if the Bills lose the Jets game and/or the Pats game, I will not be calm until I see an x next to their name in the standings.

THIS is what you took away from the game?! "Oh, if only the RB had thrown a pass!" Give me a break.

Trent should be benched for atleast one game
