Precisely. As I said in a previous post, Modrak's coworker was flipping through various Bills websites- I looked up and he was on TBD front page, then clicked onto TSW, gave it a glance, and moved on to another NFL website. I'm not claiming that they were scouring posts or even really cared that much about what was being said on TSW.

Thanks to all those that believe me, I won't let a few naysayers get to me. LOL, I know what you mean. I actually stopped myself after the 5th or 6th question and said, "Do you want me to shut up? I know this is your job, so you probably don't want to talk about it in your down time." He said absolutely not, he enjoys talking to fans.

I know you guys are right, it just pisses me off to be called a liar and a narcissist.

I can prove I am not lying. If someone can tell me how, I will post a .jpg of his business card, which he gave me.

LOL, wow, I think this is my first successful topic! Anyway, no I am not bulls---ing anybody, this really happened. Modrak wasn’t intently reading every post on The Stadium Wall. Rather, his coworker was going through the blogroll, so to speak, and when I looked up at his computer, he was on TBD, then he clicked on TSW, gave it a once over, and moved on to another NFL website- I’m not sure which, because at that moment I started to talk to them, seeing as how we have such an elite fraternity here, I thought he was a TSW poster. After I asked if they were Bills fans, Modrak said, “We actually work for the Bills.” After a little bit more conversation, the coworker was reading an article about the USC pro day and said to Modrak, “They didn’t mention your name.” I then surmised that I was talking to Modrak, since he was older and was well-known enough to expect to be mentioned by name in an article. I think he was most surprised that I was able to guess who he was before he introduced himself. Thoner7- I did ask how one goes about getting into the business, and his coworker told me his uncle is Rusty Jones, who was able to get him an internship with the Bills after he earned his business degree, and he’s just stayed on ever since. I guess having a connection in football goes a long way. It was pretty cool for me, since this is the first Bills guy I’ve ever met- I've never met a player or someone with the team before- and I love talking draft, like many of you, so it was so awesome to talk to a guy that is planning the draft. I was most encouraged to hear that he agreed with me that the DLine really needs work. Also, I told him to NOT take a DB with the first pick- he laughed and said something along the lines of “We’ll see who’s available” but that he likes our DB depth.

Last week, I met Tom Modrak at a bar in LAX. We talked draft and overall personnel for about 15 minutes, it was pretty cool. I actually got to talking with him and his coworker because I noticed they were looking at TSW on their laptop! Anyway, no major insight gleaned, he was very nice and more than happy to talk Bills with me. They were at the USC pro day and on their way to the Oregon pro day. When I said they must be looking at Max Unger, he said, "You're good." He wouldn't really answer any of my questions directly, like "who's the first round pick going to be," but they asked what I thought and agreed with me that a) the d-line absolutely needs to be addressed and b) Keith Ellison, while a fine backup, is not starting LB material. He told me that Steve Johnson and Demetrius Bell were two guys to look out for in the future, and that he hopes TO's time here won't sap too much PT for Johnson. He said that, if the Bills were to trade Peters, it would probably be for a "first and then some," depending on which first-rounder they got in return. He also said that Chris Ellis is going to have to step it up a level if he wants to be a real factor on this team. Anyway, just thought I'd share this with you guys.

You were born in Costa Rica but don't know how to spell "Tiburon?" That's curious. -
Bemidji State makes Frozen Four
Andrew in CA replied to buckeyemike's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just an awesome tourney so far, and it proves that winning the national championship is just so difficult. Notre Dame is a team that has been #1 or #2 almost all year, and they run into a buzzsaw in cinderella Bemidji st. I want to say that BU is going to cruise (well, I don't want to say that ), but I don't think any of the Frozen Four teams can be counted out right now. I've only been able to watch the UVM-Air Force game in its entirety, due to the traveling I'm currently doing, so I pray the Frozen Four (which I will be able to watch in its entirety) is as intense as the first 2 rounds. If you don't love college hockey after this tourney, I don't know what you want in a sport. -
Happy Bday, Wacka!

Great game last night. I'm heading to the final tonite- I'll be rooting for Cornell, I'm considering them for law school. Shrader, congratulations. It hurts too much right now to say more than that. I'll take comfort myself by wearing my 2008 nat'l championship hat for awhile.

Good call, I think you're right.

Oh, one more thing I remembered that I thought I would ask you guys- when Caesar woke the woman that was with Sayid on the plane after the crash, she mumbled a name or a word- did anyone catch it? I meant to rewind it at the commercial break but forgot.

Just saw this online: when Christian says to Sun, "You have a long journey ahead of you," and the camera starts to zoom on Sun's reaction, over her shoulder is a person, that kind of looks like Clare. Also, what did Sawyer's line about Faraday mean? I can't remember exactly what he said, but he made it sound like Faraday had gone mad.
-
I think the biggest question from tonight's episode is: why was Sun not transported off the plane? I have no theories.....yet.

LOL, yes, that was a great day for me! Hey, you said it first! Maybe you guys can get some measure of revenge by keeping BC out on Friday... holy s--- I can't wait for this game!

All right! We need all the help we can get! I may adopt that little cheer myself, all we have is "sucks to BU!".... I like it, shrader.

Well, RPI advancing would've been story of the year in the ECAC, at least. RPI is my #2 college hockey team- I've been going to RPI games since I was 5 years old, so I was really hoping to get to see them this weekend in Albany- I've gone to the ECAC finals every year they've had them in Albany, except for my 5 years in Boston, when I never missed a HE tourney. Yale looks like the best team in the ECAC, but I liked what I saw out of Princeton when they played Northeastern back in November- regardless, should be a great finish to the ECAC tourney, some really strong teams. And yes, Friday's renewal of the rivalry is squarely in the forefront of my mind. It's going to take the game of Muse's life to advance past BU, who look like world-beaters this year. They just toyed with Maine in that last game. I'm anxious as all hell, because BC needs to win the HE tournament to get into the NCAA tourney. BC plays it's best hockey year in and year out in March, so I do think there is some hope; and they have the talent, but they've had that all year and it's only coming together now. Well, anyway, there will be no bigger test than BU, so we'll see if this little run BC's been having is for real or just a last minute tease. Enjoy the game, I'm sure it's going to be a madhouse.

Boo. I was really hoping for an RPI upset- it would've been the story of the year.

How close are the Bills to Super bowl caliber?

I think the Secondary would be SB Ready with one more above average safety, at either FS or SS, with Whitner taking the other position. -
Astrobot- I love your draft. Do you think that is realistic?

I watched it, it was entertaining and all.... but I CANNOT stand the sycophantic applause that Stewart gets every time he makes a statement. For the love of God, let these two guys "debate" or talk or whatever, and save your orgasms- I mean applause for Stewart at the end of the segment.
