I fully agree, those two guys deserve a lot of credit, and if I'm a defensive player for the Bills right now, I'm tearing my hair out. That whole unit came to play and played well, got their offense the ball time and time again, and no one could do a damn thing with the ball.

Yeah, how about a pump fake once in awhile??? I mean, it's year what, 3 with Trent, and the dude just does not trust his WRs outside of Josh Reed. Also, Trent, Derek Fine is not Tony Gonzalez, let alone Derek friggin Schouman.... stop trying to get him the ball!!!! -
Two BIG misses cost the Bills the game today, and both were to TO. The forced throw that got picked- don't throw it to a guy just to do it, throw it if it has a chance of getting caught- and the deep pass to TO that Edwards just blew. If Edwards doesn't overthrow that ball, that's at least a 50 yard gain, if not a TD. At either of those points, the offense had the momentum and (seemingly) the wherewithal to keep plugging. After those two blown plays, as well as the most wussy 4th and 1 punt call in recent memory, the game was over, and everyone on the field knew it.

Tough loss for the U today, I was really hoping they'd knock VTech off and we'd have some different teams getting into that ACC CG. Still, if Miami can take out Oklahoma next week, it would be a big boost for the league and keep Miami alive for an at-large bid if they fail to reach the CG. And Ramius, why is VTech a pretender? They've been a powerhouse team for almost 10 years now.. I agree that having a powerful FSU and Miami is good for the league as a whole and on the national stage in that they are familiar names, but having any ACC team knocking off out of conference competition is good, it doesnt need to be those two squads.

Lynch may find himself on the bench when he returns...
Andrew in CA replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not give them a similar amount of touches? Marshawn has shown he can take a beating and drag a pile, and Jackson has shown he can shuck and jive and deke out tacklers. It's a perfect combo. Have them both in the backfield, we know how much TE loves to hit the RBs coming out of there, and it'll create a lot of mismatches. As good as Jackson is looking now, I really think that when Lynch comes back, this running game/short-field passing game is gonna take off. -
Next weeks game should be interesting...

If the D-Line can get pressure, I think the Bills have a shot- today, for example, having a guy just in Leftwich's face caused problems. The DB's are good enough to wreak havoc if the QB is rushed. Now, getting that pressure is another story- do we even have LB's on this team? -
Steely- Good thoughts dude, but I wouldn't be sayin "Marshawn who?" just yet... I think allowing Lynch to take on some of the beating that Jackson is taking now is going to do wonders for this running game, and having them both in the backfield is going to create some crazy matchup problems for opposing LB's... Also, if Butler's done for the year, it's going to be a big loss... the O-Line is young and inexperienced as is, now to lose your longest tenured player, who has been playing very well, btw, would be a bigtime gut-punch...

Is a High Quality Loss Acceptable
Andrew in CA replied to DFITZ1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this. In fact, I thought the play calling on the final offensive drive was superb, without any BS trickery that I've come to suspect from DJ. The offense played well enough, the D had a key turnover that it converted for a TD, and the Pats running game was kept in check. Typically, that will be enough to win a game. Unfortunately, a poor defensive series that allowed a TD too quickly- I wasn't upset the Pats scored to cut the lead (though clearly I would've preferred otherwise), I was upset it wasn't scored with under 2 minutes left- and the worst turnover imaginable (worse than losing an onsides kick) were too much to overcome. Frankly, I had confidence in the Bills' offense after their big series to make it 24 points, enough that I trusted them to ice the game if they had been given the shot. -
Hahaha! Thank you for making me laugh- it sums up my thoughts exactly.

I also agree... just got back from a Saturday night in the library and watched USC-OSU- I had to avoid internet until I finished the game on my dvr a few minutes ago.

I doubt you'll ever catch "flax" on this board for preferring a sport over an exercise in hillbill-ery.

Top 5 Sporting Events To Attend

Highly overrated. I've been to several yanks-sox games, at both places, for both regular season and ALCS. It's worse than your typical game, because the a-holes from both sides are out in full force. It's impossible to enjoy the game, because some idiot near you is being a drunken fool and the guys three rows up are coming to blows in the 3rd inning. If you're an opposing fan, good luck not getting stuff thrown at you; if it's your park, you're embarrassed to be associated with the people around you. The one exception was '03 ALCS game 6 at yankee stadium- there was a large police presence because tensions were so high, and people were acting calmly and enjoying the game. That was an enjoyable experience. -
At least we get the @NE beatdown over with early this season. No more 5-1 teasing to get everyone's hopes up. The Bills keeping the score within 10 would be a moral victory at this point.

Agreed. The season may be over, the playoffs are another story altogether. Burnett better get his act together before October rolls around- tonight's start was good, let's build on it. Nervous about Detroit in a short series- Verlander-Jackson is a 1-2 punch that are under the radar right now, and in a 5-game set, a good 1-2 is all you need. -

Amen, brotha. That wedding scene was longer than any wedding I've attended! Good movie, though. -

That was great! I recently watched Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 again... definitely did not get any of those jokes at the time. "She could give a dog a bone!" Way over my 10-yr old head... -
What game is on where you live?
Andrew in CA replied to UConn James's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm getting Vikings Browns over Eagles Panthers... yeah, that makes sense. Two playoff teams from last season shown only in their markets so I can watch Favre &co. roll the Browns... great.... On a side note, all those AFC games are appealing, Im getting Jets-Texans (which I laid a bet on against my Jets-fan friend) which will be interesting, but I could get into all those CBS early games. Washington-New York is the only decent one of the 3 late games, so at least I'll have that. The opener and the Sunday night game should both keep everyone's attention.. in all, looks to be an unproductive weekend! -
Harris recovered from that awful pick-6, played a great game. Did not expect to be this into this game, but it was great.
-
Holy crap! What an ending- I thought that was a catch at first, but replay is clear that it was incomplete.
-
Great game... can't believe I'm rooting for the U! BTW since moving to the West Coast, the sports viewing is great- this game is almost over and it's not even 9!

Totally agree. You might as well end it there too, because no one else comes close. However, if I had to think of a dark horse for second, it would be Chad Sexton from 311. Great fills, hits the perfect snare, can keep off-time beats at any tempo, and does a good drum solo if he keeps it under 2 minutes.
