Bills need a WR (TO?)
BobChalmers replied to VIVA BUFFALO CABRONES!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. They aren't looking for one. The WR's are fine, or at worst, the young ones remain unknown. They'll remain unknowns as long as our QB can't throw an accurate pass at them. Let's see how they do if Fitz can be a little more accurate this weekend against the Jags. Fitz was inconsistent at Chicago. He stunk out loud in Denver. -
Except that against the Bears, Bell looked great against Julius Peppers and Pears and Urbik were terrible. Shall we panic again next week after Levitre and Rhineheart have a bad game against Jax? Cripes, people - one damned pre-season game. Bell went half the season last year before allowing his first sack. CHILL.

anyone else hate the new uni?
BobChalmers replied to loserlovers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OMG NO The red helmet was an ugly holdover from a stupid idea. "Maybe if we make our helmets red, Ferguson will stop throwing picks." They were as stupid looking as the idea was - the white is soooooo much classier. Everyone has their own aethetics - thank goodness the majority of fans (and eyes) finally won out. Btw - there are a few journalists who actually review these things - the previous uni's were panned. The new ones are near-universally liked. -
Seriously - he absolutely led with his head - at a different angle you'd call it spearing. Not even close to being legal. And yes - his teammates were major dirtballs for praising him. Every player who came up to praise him for that should also be fined. I don't like the babying of the league, but that hit on Jones has been totally illegal for years.
-
Yeah - Evan's 40 catches and 600 yards receiving each of the last two years will sorely be missed. Not! I have missed the Evans we could actually use as a deep threat for three years now. That Lee Evans was not on the roster this year.
-
Bell was having a rough time - I didn't mind him being initially surprised by Miller's speed, but Dumervil - while good - should not have been a surprise. Torbor is at or near the top of my list of players that I don't understand how they are still on the team.
-
Even with the current rules that call was nonsense. He was wrapping him up immediately as the ball was thrown and wasn't throwing the QB down hard at all. I was watching this game with the Denver broadcast/announcers and even they were saying it was a terrible call.
-
This. Fitz was horrible - even when he had time he was throwing behind the receivers. The thing about this game is - Denver's offense is good - it was last year too. They lost games on defense. There were times when the Bills D wasn't getting it done last night, but - this just in - Brandon Lloyd is freaking good. The Broncos can score. Holding them to 14 in the first half w/o using much scheme is pretty good. What was sad was our compete lack of a pass offense. The OL was bad, but Fitz was worse. Spiller looked good in my book. Had multiple long runs against the Broncos starters.

They prefer Orton AND Quinn to Tebow. This is a new staff from the one that drafted Tebow - Fox doesn't like Tebow at all.
-
No, actually Fitz threw it behind him like nearly every other pass Fitz threw tonight. The bearded one was making all the receivers look bad. Easley's truly bad play was the alligator-armed drop of Thigpen's pass near the endzone in the fourth.

Gannon predicts Bills will finish last in AFC East
BobChalmers replied to xsoldier54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Miami is bad. The Bills were a better team by the end of last year. This year the Bills are much better on defense, and Miami still has the worst QB in the division. By the time the Bills (last year's lesser team) got their heads around the new schemes, they embarrassed the Dolphins in Miami in a game Miami needed to stay in the playoff hunt. Since then, they tried to replace their coach, but failed, and everyone knows it, which means the guy is essenmtially a lame duck and has no pull with the players. Miami will finish last in the division. Bet on it. -
Because after struggling with a new system the first half of the year the Bills went 4-4 and 3 of their later losses were in OT to playoff teams. Second half performance is a known predictor for the next season - more than total season record. Specifically, one of those late wins was an embarrassing beat-down on the Phins in Miami who needed that game to stay alive for the playoffs, which is why I say anyone who thinks the Bills are worse than Miami right now is showing they aren't paying attention.
-
Anyone ranking the Fish ahead (much less that far ahead) of the Bills this year isn't paying any attention at all. We embarrassed them last year w/o Dareus and Merriman. The Dolphins have very little talent (zero at QB), and their coach is on the chopping block. They are in the Adrew Luck derby for sure - the Bills are not.
-
I believe the OP asked us about their classmate, Demetrius Bell. I guess your point to them was it doesn't matter how Bell plays because the Bills are doomed, etc?

New York Times Bills Preview
BobChalmers replied to o.p. native's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup - that one was right up there for sure. Completely ignorant statement. I was also fascinated to see Torbor will be starting next to Barnett. I'm sure Andra Davis will be facinated by that too. (Torbor has a decent chance of being cut, IMO - though Maybin's release helped him out.) Honestly, anyone who is predicting the Bills finishing behind the Dolphins this year isn't paying any attantion at all to either team. -

This article is absolute junk. Sorry. The author writes with a well-educated style, but his content is every bit as ignorant and made-up as typical Marshall Faulk fare. I'm too tired to rattle off all the inaccuracies. I counted over a dozen. -
Just Caught The First Half
BobChalmers replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hehe - well Chandler IS 6'7" !! He should be easy to find, and it takes five guys to level him! -
It's a fair point - O-Line was a known weakness for the Bears. Having said that - NINE SACKS is a lot against anybody. TWO SACKS IN NINE PLAYS (plus a drawn holding penalty) is an awesome performance for Merriman against anybody.
-
Last year Roscoe (before he was hurt) and Nelson were both better than Evans. Your question implies you are assuming Evans would have made a play last night. He barely did ALL LAST SEASON so why do you assume you would have "see[n] him against the Bears" even if "him" was Evans??
-
Troll, right?
-
This is just weird. Evans hasn't commanded a double-team in 2 years. Did you stop watching the games when Losman left???? Kelsay was creating a lot of pressure last night. Go back and watch a recording of the game.

This post from a Baltimore fan says it all
BobChalmers replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moss went to the Pats for a 4th round pick. Moss to the Vikings for a fourth round pick. Ochocinco to the Pats for a 4th round pick. Evans has not produced like either of those two. Getting a fourth is pretty good for our 3rd best WR. -
Evans has not been the best we had for two seasons now. Going into this season, the staff could see he wasn't even their second best WR anymore.
-
Sheesh - not really going out on a limb with that one!!
