  1. Correct. This was the #1 and #2 rushing attacks from last year - and Merriman was drawing plenty of double-teams on passing downs. I predict LIGHTS-OUT next week against a QB you have to pressure. Oh - and memo to San Diego - fire Norv Turner and anyone else involved with their game planning. EVERYONE in the NFL knows you have to pressure Brady - except for you, apparently - idiot. Only Tolbert's bizarre and wimpy backwards run saved Turner from being the dumbest man in Foxborough this afternoon.
  2. Actually an inside rush is better against Brady - especially with their interior O-Line messed up. More importantly, they've held back the edge rush because they've just played the top two RUNNING teams from last year. I expect a very different look and a lot more noise from Merriman next Sunday.
  3. My wife gave me grief at half-time because I wasn't wearing my jersey. Went upstairs and came down wearing my throwback blue #95 and the rest is history. ... You're welcome!
  4. Moore was nutz! Multiple times we had him covered and he caught it anyway! Amazing game dude - good luck the rest of the way - Raiders are clearly improved as well.
  5. Teams go 10-6 all the time not beating most of their top opponents (see Chiefs 2010). If you're consistently beating the top teams you're 13-3 and fighting for the #1 seed. At the high end for the Bills this year should be beating the mediocre teams consistently and the elite teams occasionally. Oakland would be a nice start on the mediocre teams part, as was KC.
  6. You remember Doug Flutie? The guy who threw a series of 12-yard bombs to lead a team with the NFL's #1 defense to a 10-6 record, remember? WINNING!
  7. OTOH, Sanchez is the reason a team with some of the best play at nearly every other position doesn't win their division and doesn't get to host any of those playoff games or get a first-round bye. Coincidentally, statistically, he has been the worst regular season QB in the AFC East (and among the worst in the NFL) every year he's been in the league. Henne has a good chance of passing him to take bottom-honors this year though.
  8. I assumed they must have subbed him out of the Championship games, otherwise he would have won those too - 'cuz he's a winner and winning in the NFL is all about the QB and which one wins the game for his team the most. It's cool he lets those other guys play with him on his team and pretend they won too, btw.
  9. Yes - Sanchez wins games - he's amazing! I saw him sack the QB's of two different teams at one time to lead the Jes defense in another win, cuz he's a winner!!
  10. Watching the Shortcuts version of the game a couple times now - I can tell you Merriman was double-teamed very often on passing downs. That plus the fact that the Bills were thinking run contain most of the game and almost never blitzed, meant it wasn't a day to expect a bunch of sacks from Merriman. I was impressed by the ferocity of Barnett's hits. After the second one I was thinking - "what did we ever see in Poz again??". Congrats Jaguars.
  11. ARGGHHHHHHH GOOD QB = WINS = GOOD QB == WINS = BLAH BLAH BLAH I HATE THAT ARGUMENT!!!! QB is the single most important position, but it's not even close to 50% of the total.
  12. This - and quickly.
  13. Kind of sounds like a Chiefs fan from last week, eh? The Bills defense is a whole different animal from last year - four new and better starters and a full season under their belts in the new 3-4 scheme. The starters were stuffing everyone's run games during the preseason, and that carried over to last week. I'm not making any guarantees - just warning you not to bet your car on the outcome.
  14. It's remarkable the Raiders only managed to go 8-8 with such an easy schedule last year then, don't you think? How did they lose the division to the Chiefs?
  15. The Fish looked seriously gassed by the time Koppen got hurt - it was weird how out-of-shape they were. Multiple plays where they couldn't even run fast enough to line up before the snap. Honestly - that looked like two pretty bad teams out there plus one awesome QB having a field day.
  16. LOL!! Incognito - penalties all over in a losing cause. McGahee - mediocre backup Lee Evans - on pace for a perfect season with zero receptions for zero yards. and the Bills had the top performance of the weekend. You went 4-for-4 on wrongness - congratulations!
  17. Collinsworth had them on Inside the NFL. Sapp called the game both ways on two different networks! Cowher's a big Gailey fan - which also means he is probably annoyed with the Chiefs for firing Chan - he's going to lean our way and did so a fair amount last season too.
  18. He threw some pretty bad balls too - obviously the total result was great - but his consistent accuracy is the thing he has to work on to become a pro-bowl QB.
  19. So keep the question the perspective - the question was not are they winning the AFCE this tyear - the question was - are they better than last year. There were mindlessly negative comments all over this board the last few weeks insisting that the Bills were in the hunt for the #1 pick, their OL sux, none of the Bills OL could make another roster, Bell is junk, Nix and Gailey are old, we needed Evans, etc. and they had not improved - blah blah blah. Anyone who was on that side of the discussion either understands they were at least a little wrong now or is in near-psychotic denial at this point.
  20. So solid, in fact, that the Chiefs moved Hali to play over Pears because he was getting nowhere against Bell. Bell-haters can officially go get stuffed. I'm not saying he's a Pro Bowler because of one game - but the people here who have been going on about how he sucks and we don't have a OLT - STFU. He's young and talented and developing.
  21. You had this part right... Nix is going to be judged on wins and losses, and has said as much himself. eBall having an opinion about the realative merits of a given interview performance hardly rated your response. Rob Johnson has a SB ring too.
  22. If you have DirecTV, they are having a free view day of watching Sunday Ticket this first week. If you then decide to sign up that day (the 11th) There's a discounted price of $300 for the season. As for the PS3 setup - I can confirm what others have said - tried it at lunch today - all it does is ask you if you can get DirecTV, if you say "no" they sign you up right there from the PS3. Looks pretty clean and straightforward - I'll see how the dish re-install I had scheduled for tomorrow works out and go from there. I had an HD-ready dish installed a couple of weeks ago and it worked great until it stopped working during Irene.
  23. I saw the same thing - Jasper battled at the line but didn't seem to have an instinct to finish the play as a defender/tackler. He _was_ playing OL the last two years in college, after all - so the fact that he's not a polished tackler shouldn't be a big surprise to anyone.
