  1. Jets wins are squeaker over 2-3 Dallas, a stomping of 1-5 Jax, and an unimpressive win over a horrible 0-6 Miami team. Jets lost badly to two teams Bills beat (Oakland and Pats* - albeit close wins for the Bills - but the point is the Jets couldn't even play close against either of them). Jets got old and can't run it anymore nor they can't stop the run. Their young (and stupid) QB continues to suck. Worst two teams by record Bills played are both 2-4 playoff teams from 2010. Both Bills losses were late FG's on the road against a pair of 4-2 teams. Don't be fooled by the fact that the Jets are only a game back of the Bills - there is no comparison between what the two teams have done on the field this year. Bills are sweeping them (along with the fish).
  2. Yeah - except the Jets suck and aren't going to beat us in either game. The Jets just got their third win against the now 0-6 fish. Their other wins were against 1-5 Jax and a squeaker against 2-3 Dallas. The Jets lost badly to the Pats and Raiders - two teams we already beat (albeit in tough games). We have two road losses on late FG's to a pair of 4-2 teams. Honestly - could any Bills (or Pats*) fan watch last night's game and chuckle about the 2-team race in the AFCE? That was two lousy teams we just watched. The Bills will sweep both the Jets and Dolphins. Write it down and take it to your local community credit union.
  3. I'd take them both but I actually think a big athletic WR like Wayne would have more of an impact. I am not aware of any attitude issues with Wayne either - unlike Lloyd who should (and will) be avoided.
  4. I doubt that seriously. Given Merriman's troubles, I think it's a given they draft an OLB very high next year. Whoever that guy is will start over Moats or Batten. On the inside, agree Barnett should remain a starter for a few years. I don't see White taking over anytime soon if ever. Sheppard will be starting soon though - probably by the end of this year.
  5. I was assuming last week had a lot to do with the matchup against the "dream team" CB's, and the opportunities up the middle the Eagles extensive use of the "Wide 9" defense was creating. Against the Giants' mediocre (or worse) secondary I expect we'll see more passes downfield.
  6. In their interview of Chan Gailey, near the bottom... "[Fitzgerald] is standing in the pocket with a lot of confidence and we’re able to run the football and keep people off balance." I mean - this was funny enough in week one - week six after all the buzz and accolades, it's kind of just incompetent. the link is on the TBD page, but here it is again... http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Buffalo-Bills-Coach-Chan-Gailey/a7cd67b8-1629-4375-836a-21e7fb425ad8
  7. The thing with the dancing robots - they were sort of modern and cute about 15 years ago. When they were introduced they were used to make the Fox broadcast look more modern/futuristic. Now they mainly appeal to little kids or adults who are super-low-tech and think somehow robots are still "new", when in fact, they are having the opposite effect on most viewers. I see them now and think "Wow, if Fox thinks a dancing robot is current/futuristic/cool, their producers must be really behind the times." Speaking of Bills TV issues: When will the NFL Network finally yank the background graphics with the Bills' Red helmets??? You'd think at least NFLN would care about getting the franchise graphics right - I mean they are the league office, after all!
  8. LB and WR I'd say. Whichever position has the more dominant guys available, if any. We still don't have a WR with the total athletic package to threaten the top corners. Not every team does - but if you want to play this offense and improve that's where we're lacking. At some point it would be nice to have our own Fitzgerald/C.Johnson/A.Johnson, etc... None of our guys are forcing double teams right now. (And NO, Lee Evans wasn't that guy either...) You saw it yesterday where Fitz had almost no throws to the WR's against the "Dream Team" CB's. I expect to see the same against the Jets - who we will beat anyway with Freddy and the defense.
  9. I very much thought and still think they should have gone for it. How do they not get 6 inches on that defense with a QB sneak or dive? Make it you win. Even if you fail, how much were the 30 yards really worth if you punt? Maybe you do better than that, but a touchback is a real possibility. If they were up by 3 maybe I'm more worried about field position, but the way the Eagles were getting all their offense on big plays, it seems like that 30 yards could have evaporated on one Vick run or a single broken tackle run after catch by Desean Jackson. I'm relieved the Eagles screwed up. The Bills should have gone for it if they didn't.
  10. That's kind of my thinking too - it just feels like a bad matchup. OTOH, 3 other teams have managed to beat them - hopefully the Bills can match one of those patterns.
  11. Because our defense wasn't stopping the Bengals - it was the clock that forced them to kick the FG from as far away as they did. If Chan had used the timeouts the Bengals would be trying the FG from the 20.
  12. Same here - It's hard to miss. Hehe - good thing he has the beard!!!
  13. True - Pats* have a worse defense and much less speed on offense. Much worse running game too.
  14. You'll think of another reason to whine after they beat the Pats*. No lie.
  15. Just a minor correction - the Bills had been #3, not #2 the previous year... ...and a major correction - it wasn't a reporter - it was Phil Hansen who asked him why the hell he was changing everything on the #3 defense in the league. Even more ridiculous - just one year earlier, the Bills and their 3-4 were the #1 defense in the NFL, and Greggie's Titans were only around #10. Gregg Williams was easily the biggest jerk and fool the Bills have had coaching them - and that's actually really saying something. I root for the other team's offense every game he's involved with.
  16. Based on Martin's performance yesterday, it would be no surprise to see him cut - was it 3 dropped passes?
  17. Right - because for the last two weeks we've been in run-stopping mode. We haven't been rushing more than four and often just three, and the DB's have been keeping half an eye on the backfield keying run. That's how we just held last season's top two running attacks to minimal success on the ground.
  18. You are 100% full of it. Nice trolling though. Merriman was doubled on numerous pass plays (better?) - as he was against KC - and the Bills rarely sent more than 4 and often just 3. When I get a chance I'll go through the shortcuts and see if I can give a count. I'm not aware of Maybin drawing two blockers - EVER. Of course, he was never on the field much, so who knows! Did you not see Merriman getting double-team held and tackled (for no penalty - God knows why) on the final play Hail Mary??? At that they only got him to the ground a yard away from Campbell, which is probably why they held him in desperation. Just sayin' I expect a completely different gameplan and a different result from Merriman this week. Which I guess is further proof you are just a troll and you intentionally post stupid comments to see who corrects you - because you think it's funny? (xkcd has far better stuff, btw.)
  19. You are understating the case on Hali - in fact, the Chiefs were so frustrated with Hali's inability to beat Bell, that they switched him to the other side, and he beat Pears cleanly on one play for the only Bills sack allowed on the young season. Bell is playing great. He's young, inexperienced, and he was slacking a little in the preseason until Gailey lit a fire under his butt by playing Levitre in his spot, then Bell immediately got his act together and is back to good play. This team needs no more than a dominant WR (and no, not a Lee Evans - I'm talking another Andre/Calvin/Larry type), or OLB, and/or CB and they will have the talent to be among the league's elite.
  20. You were making sense up until this point. Pressure is THE way you beat Brady. I would seriously fire Norv Turner this morning for his pathetic (dare I say Jauron-ian?) gameplan of laying back in coverage. Brady has been shown to be totally human when you get in his face. I don't know who will win - I have learned noone ever knows in the NFL, but I believe the Bills interior rush of Williams and Dareus working against the Pat's* battered interior OL will give Brady fits Sunday and he WILL make mistakes.
  21. LOL - so wait - you're crediting the Jets for signing 50-year-old Jason Taylor waaaaaay past his prime, but when the Bills bring in a 27-year-old Merriman they're taking other people's scraps??? Yeah - you are full of bull-stuff - sorry. Merriman is fine btw - he's been constantly double-teamed both games, and was held like nuts yesterday - including outrageously on the final play.
  22. With a pash rush. Something that moron Norv Turner apparently hasn't heard of. It's been pretty established for years now that you DON'T sit back in coverage against Brady - apparently Norv is the only one who missed that memo. As for our DB's and college freshman - not sure what your point is other than to (attempt to) sound funny/clever. There wasn't much wrong with their work this week - they were in position most of the time and had one kid have an amazing day of actually taking the ball even when he was blanketed. Considering they've also been keying run most of the last two games (against last season's top two rushing teams), I'm not too worried about the pass rush. If the Pat's* get away with as much holding as the Raid-duh's did yesterday, there might be a problem - but we'll have to hope for a better called game. THIS No clue why SD refused to blitz. Right up there with why did that functional moron Tolbert turn around and run away from an obvious running lane on 3rd and 5. I swear the Pat's* have an Idiot-Ray they fire at opposing teams during games.
  23. When it was 14-0, I was at home in Maryland texting my son in college and told him the Bills were still going to beat these chumps by 10. At the half I just said - weird game - don't understand how we're losing, it seems like we are beating them at most positions on most plays. It just didn't look like we had match-up problems anywhere - the Raiders were just catching every possible break - plus that Moore kid was amazing.
  24. It was totally ridiculous. No clue where the ref was looking.
  25. Right - because if they lose to the Patriots they will suck and we should be thinking about firing Buddy and Chan (who clearly will be too old) and drafting Andrew Luck. ...Just like 30 other teams in the league who also usually look bad against the Pat's*.
