Rex warns Bills to be ready for Tebow

To Walker's credit, he did point out last year's Tebow @ Buffalo game results in all their ugly glory. -
Rex warns Bills to be ready for Tebow
BobChalmers replied to Stevie Ray's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL - well, the Bills are no match for Tonawanda either!! :-) -
To be clear - NFLN is doing the same thing, only even more inanely if that's possible. They add on to it my spending what time remains after Jets coverage talking about Dolphins camp. Rich Eisen chimed in briefly with one of the more ridiculous comments when they actually mentioned the Jets week one opponents: "The Bills will have to worry about the matchup problems the Jets create now that they've added (rookie DE) Coples." Yes, Rich - in the week one Bills @ Jets game, the big pass-rush matchup we'll all be focused on will not be Mario Williams vs. Wayne Hunter, but in fact is a rookie DE for the Jets against the OL (and QB) that gave up the fewest sacks in the league last year. These guys don't even try to make sense.

You want a position to worry about?

LOL -
Their initial line at 6.5 wins was ridiculous. Just based on the easier schedule alone they should have been higher - never mind the injuries last year or the adds on the DL. The stats guys at Football Outsiders have them at 9.7, I think. 7th overall in the NFL. This is going to keep moving up.

Bills Redskins Pre-Season Replay
BobChalmers replied to TSNBDSC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks! I imagine I'll be watching the the local DC coverage around here - which is pretty brutal. The other guys are OK, but listening to Theisman go on makes me hate football. -
Seeing is bill-ieving - reality check
BobChalmers replied to SouthernMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. I don't give a crap about hockey or the Sabres, and have absolutely no respect for posts that somehow connect them to the Bills. That's just stupid. 2. Football Outsiders is smarter than you, and more objective. They have the Bills at 9.7 wins - 7th in the NFL and 3rd in the AFC. 3. In fact, most national sources also have them at or near the playoffs. In other words, you have to go out of your way to be down on them right now. Why? Do you hate your life (along with the Sabres) so much? -
Football Outsider's Projections
BobChalmers replied to bearc012's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which again confirms our general impression that the Vegas line at 6.5(?) wins is flat-out nuts. -
Wow - I don't remember that at all. He's had multiple seasons with back problems. In fact, if he had been a 5-7th round pick, he'd have been long gone.

Sweetest words I've heard out of Training Camp
BobChalmers replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dominating D plus an average offense has been a regular Super Bowl winning formula - not sure how that would be a bad thing. So I say not , dude. And our offense is probably a bit better than average. Even with the injuries they were slightly better than average last year (14th). -
Give me your thoughts on this Power ranking on the Bills
BobChalmers replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the Ravens, not the Bengals, who are going to fall off - everyone pencils them in - but their D is old and/or hurt, and they lost OL talent. The Ravens are a fine franchise but they don't win every year - this is a bad year for them. -

Giants were 9-7. They got hot at the right time, but in another year or another division they don't even make the playoffs like that. -
The article is odd. I agree completely that this is a really weird article to see on published on NFL.com - and some of the sources it quotes are a bit spotty. Wouldn't be shocked to see it pulled.

Bills Want To Scrimmage Other Teams
BobChalmers replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I took my (then 8 year-old?) son to a Browns/Bills scrimmage near Erie, PA a while back. He's about to turn 19 this week, so I'm guessing that was ~11 years ago. It's a lot more fun to watch than a regular training camp for sure. Mostly the team vs. team practices were the most interesting - the actual scrimmage "game" was just so-so. -
Buddy not mincing words on Troup, Carrington...
BobChalmers replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As top of the round 2nd and 3rd rounders - both from 3 years ago - they ought to be starters or they were bad picks. Buddy's just saying he's getting ready to admit they were bad picks. -
Tim Graham's "Press Coverage" blog
BobChalmers replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ravens are a mess this year - they are in serious risk of not making the playoffs. I am a big admirer of their organization down here - but we shouldn't just pencil them in based on history. Suggs is broken and Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are both really old. They also lost talent on the OL, and Flacco has a cannon-arm, but not the greatest accuracy. If Upshaw plays big he could replace some of Suggs, but pre-draft Upshaw looked like a guy without an NFL position to me. -
Bills Over/Under at 6.5
BobChalmers replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You just doubled down on silly and not reading before typing. These are over/under on wins for the season, dude, and yes, they do exist. -
the 4 keys to the season (all start with "M")
BobChalmers replied to loserlovers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry - the most important "M" on this team is the "Mike" LB Sheppard. If he stays healthy and plays well the defense will dominate. If he's hurt or underperforms they won't live up to the DL improvements. Sheppard and Fitz are the two most important "unknowns" this season. -
What is the BIGGEST LIE of the off season?
BobChalmers replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really??? I'd sure rather be playing Cleveland than Pittsburgh or Baltimore. I'd rather be playing KC than Denver too! It's only 2 games each year that are selected by finish place, but this year they are probably big differences. -
What would you do if.....
BobChalmers replied to IslandBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My wife's from Philly too - she'd be crying with me though - after 23 years she's hopped on our wheel-less bandwagon. The Super Bowl defeats were very early in our marriage, so she gets it. -
Gailey setting lofty expectations for Fitz.
BobChalmers replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew we were in trouble for the Jets game(s) the moment we knew Wood was done. The Jets D beat up (and ran past) our depleted OL. Combine that with what has to have been one of the most pathetic pass rush units in NFL history that actually made Sanchez look like a real QB, and we had no chance. Healthy LAST SEASON the Bills would have swept the Jets. This year it's going to be a repeat of the KC opener - something on the order of 40-7 Bills. Mark it down. Jets and their endless hype-machine in the media will not know what the heck hit them. -
Anyone who starts their point by measuring a QB by wins can't call anyone else's argument "silly". Those of you in the wins = good QB brain-lock need to stick to wathcing your hero Trent Dilfer on TV and avoid typing in public. It's a team game - if you can't grasp that heaven help you making any sense at all. Btw - did you notice Atlanta's win total went up imediately after they replaced Vick with a rookie (Ryan)?? How does your "wins" theory explain that one? Meanwhile, Fitz' teams have won more with him than the other QB's did on the same teams.
-
I've heard more than a few folks observe that Vick has been solved by NFL defenses - he can't throw worth a damn if you pressure him from his left. For this coach and team, I honestly believe Fitz is more help. This is a long way from saying he's great - if his accuracy doesn't improve this year, the Bills will (and should) be looking for a new QB next year - I just think Vick's not all that great either, and a poor fit on a team that ultimately wants to lead with a strong running game and defense.

What would you do if.....
BobChalmers replied to IslandBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not at all. I don't think I'd be able to help myself either. I might just straight up faint too, which would at least stop the crying.
