  1. Poster over the urinals? No hate intended - seriously - I was pulling for him. Then I started pulling really hard for EJ to get healthy QUICKLY!!!
  2. Right - but the point is we want to get going and learning with him under center - not spin wheels watching QB's who aren't going to be the starter get reps.
  3. So a perfect 3rd QB in other words? We don't need a starter - that's what Manuel is for.
  4. But he played fairly well against the #1 defense in the league that year - good enough for a #3 QB
  5. And last year the Redskins went to the playoffs with a rookie QB and a rookie backup...
  6. LOL The news does make me feel a little tingle - not going to lie!
  7. Huh - how bad is Webb? I know the Bears OL as a whole has been bad, but if this is more of a salary move he might be worth grabbing. Welch sure didn't make me feel good about our depth.
  8. Wow - Butler cut and Heath stays would be shocking. Heath couldn't cover a bad song.
  9. Unknowns that I am hoping for but can't be comfortable with: - EJ Manuel plays and plays (fairly) well early. - Pettine's defense shines when let fully loose, so the Bills can give the Pats* trouble the way the better Jets teams often did. - The OL is good enough and opens decent holes for Spiller - The loss of Gilmore is offset by all the devastation in the Pats* receiving corps. All of these are "realistic" but none are certain, and the Bills probably need 3 or maybe all 4 to happen to win Sunday.
  10. Easley makes it over Smith - Hogan sticks too. Smith serves no purpose on this roster. Keep in mind Joe B was certain they were keeping Da'rick Rogers too, so...
  11. Fair enough - but let me offer this one example as food for thought. The Colts over the past three seasons. I happen to believe that Brady is better than Peyton Manning. Mostly because Manning has slight choking problem - whereas Brady is very clutch. Manning is still great/HoF material though. The Colts lose their HoF QB, and they immediately lose 10 more games and go from championship contender to drafting #1 overall. They spend that pick on the best QB prospect in a generation, and immediately return to the playoffs. Pats* lucked into drafting the greatest QB of the recent 20 years in the 6th round - don't the Colts prove it's entirely possible he is worth 10+ wins to them?
  12. Agree completely (as I often do with eball).
  13. You apparently skipped all the stuff above that refutes this. They got Brady - years ago - and that was a different management team. They would be nothing w/o him, and their FO has not been doing well for years. Their FO has been mediocre or worse for several years now. And don't waste time with the "when Brady was hurt and Cassell stepped in" line - that was also many years ago. If THIS Pats* team lost Brady in the pre-season they would be challenging for Clowney.
  14. No - they came out very vanilla and they were visibly "flat". It was pretty apparent before Washington scored their first points that the Bills' D did not show up. I suppose we could be Pats* fans and panic about how they looked - Brady and all - against Detroit? Speaking of - at some point if Manuel continues to look good, and Geno continues to run out of the back of end zones, is someone going to blast the Jets front office for having two first round picks before #16 and not using either of them on EJ?
  15. Marrone says "work" a lot. This is probably a good thing.
  16. Tim was also on NFL AM (NFLN) this morning intentionally fanning the flames of the non-issue QB situation. He managed to completely ignore all reports (including Marrone's statements) that they remain hopeful Manuel will be ready for week 1, and Tuel is only the "starter" until Manuel is back.
  17. I think it would be fair to say one rookie is more important to the franchise than the other. Having said that - and as I have stated elsewhere - EJ Manuel doesn't get down about a bad performance - he'll be fine. He'd have to suck for two straight years to develop confidence problems - maybe!
  18. Do we have a spare roster spot for him, or were you going to put Tuel in the Billy Buffalo suit?
  19. This I'd argue he already is well on his way. I don't think there are too many Jets fans (or national media morons) willing to say the Bills didn't take the right QB first these days, eh?
  20. The problem with your logic is that you are assuming if Tuel does well, that means he is doing better than Manuel would do. Tuel could do pretty well, and Manuel might still be better. In fact, all the prior stuff speaks to that.
  21. The only thing on this list that concerns me in the slightest is Gilmore's injury. I feel bad for Kolb, but he was junk, and never intended as more than a placeholder for EJ, so from the Bills fan's perspective, who cares if he's hurt? Not at all convinced Leinart can't match Kolb. Manuel is barely hurt. Defense looked very good in two games, then came out both vanilla and visibly flat Saturday - makes for good coaching film. They'll be fine. Rogers would have been nice, but there's a reason he went undrafted, right? And a big reason why they cut him is because of how well all the other young WRs on the team have been doing. FredEx and BSmith are the "emergency QB's" - that's all Marrone was saying.
  22. Physical attributes, leadership qualities, a long winning record in college, better performance in camp, ... IE, all of the things that CAUSED the draft status.
  23. I'm telling you - Chris White is going to knock at least one, maybe two of our QB's out of action - just you wait!!
