  1. True. Given the number of lousy starting positions the offense put them in, it's hard to fault the defense for too much. They weren't perfect, but they did enough to win - including scoring one of the team's 3 TD's. The offense only put up 14 points - against NE you can't blame the defense too much.
  2. This makes zero sense, sorry. If you want to make this complaint - apply it to the punt in the first half. In the fourth quarter you are arguing against yourself - they WERE aggressive and playing to win and the players didn't execute. Beating two DB's for the GO-AHEAD TD is "garbage time"??
  3. This.
  4. Good start but the penalties need to get cleaned up - worrisome since it was an issue throughout the preseason as well. Other worry is that CJ looked awful - if that continues there is an issue. I don't think it will but... Pettine wasnt perfect but boy what an upgrade - holding the Pats* down most of the game despite the offense giving them lousy situations.
  5. Lots of yards brought back by penalties. No clue what (or if) you were watching in the game. 66% 2TD 0 INT
  6. Seriously - people on this board - once again are just weirdly negative - I mean negative for the sake of it. Crazy stuff.
  7. Exactly - it's clear to me the Bills will not win the Super Bowl this year.
  8. Regardless of anything on how EJ does or does not succeed, Geno Smith has had bust written all over him since months before the draft. All sorts of folks who had been doing deeper analysis of his performance at WVU were ripping him. When draft day came I was VERY relieved when the Bills didn't take him.
  9. First two games the run defense was fine. Game 3 against Washington they were running some totally vanilla system that Wanny would have used - it didn't look like Pettine's D at all. Game 4 it was Bills' 2's and 3's against Lions 1's so whatever. Point being - you're 100% correct that the run D is the biggest issue from last year - but I wouldn't be too worried based on the pre-season results specifically. Right after EJ's performance (obviously) the 2nd thing I'll be looking for is stout run D. Very true.
  10. Hehe sure - but what if Jameis Winston comes out next year... Actually, I don't think he can yet - so we have 1 year reprieve!
  11. NFL and/or networks stopped releasing the info? Dunno - but this new page is borderline pointless.
  12. Very true - he was that way at FSU, as well.
  13. Yeah - that's the real kicker at this point - all that BS about how the Bills blew that pick - well, I'm sorry, after a month of preseason, what rookie QB has been even close to this "reach pick" QB?? Geno - sucking badly so far Wilson - couldn't make the Raiders which is really saying something Barkley - buried on the depth chart Nassib - same
  14. Stupid that they used Tuel for Buffalo - but apparently every idiot national media type has followed on with the BS that Tuel was going to start, and in some especially ignorant cases extrapolated that to mean Tuel is "the starter" for Buffalo.
  15. no that's two busts, and while both are wonderful no way are they the "biggest" - seriously
  16. This makes more sense - exactly what I was thinking - holy cow Winston is incredible. It doesn't reflect on EJ at all - it's just a bummer seeing the next guy in the pipe be so obscene! Mind you - it was acknowledged by all 2013 was a down year for QB's - noone expects Manuel to be Andrew Luck or even Griffin. If he was the Bills wouldn't have gotten him at 8 much less at 16. If Winston keeps playing at the sort of high level he has been hyped to, he will be drafted at or near #1 and not an option hopefully! The Jets might end up getting him with the 1st overall pick in 2 years...
  17. Safeties are fine if you play a lot of zone, or against a team that features all TE's....
  18. They did bring him in for a look a couple of months back too, right?
  19. You've basically morphed the Raiders logo into a Bills logo. Given that the Raiders logo - in my opinion - is the worst looking logo in the NFL... sorry. I'm just not a fan of trying to mix the mascot image in with a football helmet - almost impossible not to look silly. Feel the same with the Dolphins for that matter. Also - isn't it kind of goofy to put a picture of a helmet - ON a helmet? As a t-shirt design, maybe I like it.
  20. Hehe - seriously - remember when he was at the top of many's lists here? Can there be any doubt at this point the Bills drafted the right QB? It may be that none of them were truly worthy of a 1st round pick, but there isn't a rookie out there who has remotely shown as much as Manuel has this preseason. Well, Geno Smith has shown a lot - it's just been almost all really bad.
  21. Go review last year's Redskins tape and get back to us. There are no available veteran QBs with enough talent to prefer over Manuel or Tuel.
  22. More than the prior coaching staff, no?
  23. Yup - sprained lips/cheeks.
