  1. I think the disconnect between EJ and Stevie was glaring when compared with Woods especially and the other young WRs to a lesser degree. There were just a whole pile of plays where it was clear the two weren't on the same page in ways we didn't see with Woods. Now - it's possible that's all on EJ but it's clear they were struggling to get on the same page. No doubt EJ still needs to improve (a fair bit) BUT Did Woods look frustrated to you last season?
  2. LOL - you know, I'm such an optimist I literally never thought of this. All I was thinking of was having something fun to watch while stuck at an otherwise annually unpleasant family travel event. Realistically, I have to agree, the Bills could just make it worse!
  3. I worry our defense will take a slide adjusting to yet another new scheme, and I'm not positive Schwartz is as good as Pettine. Hopefully I'm wrong!
  4. Which, of course, is why Trump has already been publicly spouting off about it!!
  5. That requires your unstated premise that SJ13 is the Bills best WR. Is he? He's their most expensive WR, but based on last season, he wasn't their best. A second round rookie outplayed him. I do like his ability to get open short/medium. It's nice how he knows how to outmaneuver Revis. However: He's been non-contact hurt frequently with what looks like a chronic hamstring issue (and played hurt - which is great but frequently getting hurt is still bad). He's clearly not "clutch". For whatever reason - it can't just be luck the number of times he's failed horrifically in big moments.
  6. Yeah - and for whatever reason it was pretty clear that Manuel and Stevie didn't seem to have any chemistry. I love Stevie too, but I wouldn't be shocked by this sort of move.
  7. Yeah - and when you include teams coming off Thursdays, last year we had SIX opponents coming off extra rest. The next worst team schedule had 3, and it was the second season in a row where is had been badly lopsided against the Bills. You're spot-on the only objective measure, the NFL finally cut the Bills a break this year. Right. I was excited about the Thanksgiving game too.
  8. I think the problem with your argument is that there are 31 other teams that are also drafting. The team's objective in the draft process is to get the most good players in the whole draft, not just the best one player you can - to do that, you necessarily have to consider how soon players are going to be drafted by other teams. A "reach" is a player taken before you needed to take him - regardless of how good he turns out to be, reaching is BAD. Any team that took Brady in the 1st through 4th rounds would have been reaching - he was still there in round 6, so taking him in the 1st would mean losing another 1st round talent when you didn't have to. There is a game within a game in the draft - which is what guys like KIper have been trying to explain when they talk about reaches, etc. By now most all the NFL front offices get it - but back in the day when Kiper was really ruffling feathers, there were teams that really were clueless about it.
  9. Woot! Famous Jameis is comin' to Buffalo!! ;-)
  10. Trading - they have extra rest the first time - we have it the second. Both Pats* games come off Pats playing Jets, for what it's worth.
  11. This is a good schedule on the only objective metric - they have more rest than their opponents 3 times - less only once Play Jets off their Thursday then return the favor. Play the Packers off GB's Monday Night. Play the Chiefs off our BYE - Chiefs on normal schedule 3 favored - one unfavored - I'll take that over last year's criminal nonsense
  12. All I want to know is how many times they face opponents coming off extra rest. Need the whole league schedule for that.
  13. Pretty sure my son and I will be coming up from Maryland, schedule permitting.
  14. 9 OT GREG ROBINSON AUBURN (I could have had Matthews instead - hard to believe both are there at 9) 41 WR KELVIN BENJAMIN FLORIDA STATE 73 TE TROY NIKLAS NOTRE DAME 109 QB A.J. MCCARRON ALABAMA 149 ILB LAMIN BARROW LSU 224 RB JAMES WILDER JR. FLORIDA STATE Yeah - I didn't see how to do this either - pretty damned happy with how the players fell for me though!
  15. Marshawn Lynch - I had been getting stoked on his sick Cal highlight reels weeks ahead of time and was hoping but not at all sure we would get him. Last year, the trade down had me very excited, then as an FSU fan I was excited (though a little worried) with the EJ pick. Even at the time, on paper the trade down and still getting their 1st choice at QB was obviously brilliant, but at the time I didn't know how well any of the three would turn out - so this is still 2nd to Lynch for me.
  16. New stadium in Williamsville? It IS closer to Toronto!!
  17. Ugh - the reviews on him have NOT been good. I kind of think it's going to be an ORT anyway though.
  18. He had 9 last season, but in his rookie year (2010) he had 11 (eleven!) TD's. 25 total in his 4 years, despite injuries and not the greatest cast of QB's throwing to him. Not saying how good he will be - but he's clearly worth taking a flyer on - this is a no brainer. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13489/mike-williams
  19. I agree with literally nothing in the original post: Priorities are WR, ORT, 3-down LB. Aaron Williams is very good as a Safety. Byrd missed much of last year - his loss is recoverable. Graham will take over the spot with ease. Hughes generated plenty of pressure.
  20. You mean just like last season, when they traded down, got the top QB on their board, took an excellent all-around WR in the second, and used the trade-down extra 2nd rounder pick for the Defensive RoY? Or have you been out of the country since 2012? If so, that you for your service to the nation. Only truly bad move we've seen this front office make so far is thinking they had an answer at LG. As for the OP - it's tough to come up with a bold prediction in the draft since there are probably 5 legit choices, and I believe they will go with one of them. My regular season bold prediction I hope I'm wrong about is that Schwartz will screw up the defense.
  21. They're paying Pears $5M right now - they aren't going to balk at that price for a better RT (assuming they can escape Pears' contract w/o too much hit).
  22. Did you copy and paste this from 1-2 years ago? McKelvin was terrific this year! Don't agree Byrd leaving makes FS a "hole" - it would make it an upgradeable position. Enough with the QB judgments - it's just so much pointless noise. NO ONE KNOWS if Manuel is the guy, but there is every reason to give him another year to figure it out. If you made me bet on it, I'd bet he's not a franchise answer at QB - but there's roughly a 40% chance he will be - it's worth giving him a full off-season and finding out. He always was known as a developmental guy anyway, and he certainly has a good attitude and work ethic, so why not see if that pays off? That doesn't mean if one they like falls to 9 they shouldn't grab him - it just means they shouldn't feel compelled to get another QB. Most importantly, they WON'T grab a QB, so enough whining about it already.
  23. This thread makes me want them to trade down again and pick up a WR, TE, AND an OL in the first two rounds. I really think it should be possible. Amen! Both Losman and Edwards showed plenty at first - Jauron was an idiot with offenses and hiring OC's.
  24. Favre is junk and has zero business on any such list. All-time TD pass leader - true - and the all-time INTERCEPTION thrower too. He doesn't even remotely compare. Peyton's problem is that he has generally not been good in the playoffs - and specifically he was carried by his team to his one Super Bowl win. Marino had little playoff success, but his teams weren't that good. I think the OP was pretty close - but I'd put Sammy Baugh up there for: Johnny Unitas Joe Montana Sammy Baugh Otto Graham Tom Brady John Elway/Dan Marino both just miss.
