  1. I thought McCoy's post-game presser may have been more revealing than some realize - he mentioned they had a bunch of pass plays designed for him that they didn't end up using - probably b/c they didn't need them - but I think that's a hint of how much offensive gameplan we still haven't seen.
  2. Looked more like his shoulder was still not 100% than just "rust". I watched a fair bit of the game - Cam was underthrowing everybody.
  3. Yeah - and I guess as several OBD and media types have pointed out, their short passing quick release game didn't really allow for sacks. True
  4. My biggest concern from yesterday was the lack of a pass rush with the front 4. They weren't awful, but I hoped for better against the McClown-led Jests
  5. I was going to ask that. Now learn to spell correctly, Wildling! ;-) I'm honestly surprised they had as much success running - against the Jets D I would have expected the plan would be to attack the young secondary, but most football teams are always going to try running first (especially the team that led the league in rushing two straight years) and as long as the running is working, it's crazy to switch from it much. Yup - let's stop this regular season nonsense now - it's settled! Did we get home field for the playoffs??
  6. This would make any sense at all if Gilmore wasn't already so disliked while he was here. There's zero to be jealous of - that's the point. We're just all happy the Bills didn't spend all that money on an overrated low-effort player. Right - b/c if they edge contain against Shady as badly as they did against KC Bills can't exploit that?
  7. Yeah there was really no mistaking it. I think most of us expected Dark Lord Bill was going to get him to buy in like so many others, but the Slack is strong in Gilmore.
  8. Well - no not necessarily - the Fish could be 1-0 by then. At least the Pats* will be all alone in last place in that scenario!
  9. TT is benched week 7, Peterman turns the team around but not fast enough - they finish 8-8 one game out of the playoffs again. We still won't know enough about NP to be sure we need to trade up to draft a QB in 2018.
  10. I don't doubt he's the most talented QB on the team. Marcell is the most talented player on the Bills. Talent does not equal value.
  11. There's nothing bold about building through the draft - if your front office screws that up, you fire all of them and try again.
  12. Yeah - that's pretty much the analysis. If players were robots this would be undeniable. The mitigating factor being playing to win now for the sake of the culture of the overall team. The secondary factor is if Tyrod looks as terrible operating the new offense in the regular season as he did in the preseason, how long do you wait to pull the plug? At some point TT might really not be the option that wins the most games now.
  13. This did make me wonder though - what DID they ask him to do? I ask b/c if he didn't contribute on special teams, did they ever ask him to play special teams?? If not, whose fault is it he didn't? Did he play ST, and he was just bad at it?
  14. I'll say that there will be no judgement passed on their QB for at least 4 years from now, so I'll say 4 years at least, maybe not 5. Yeah - the Bills are -9 for a reason. The one way they can definitely lose is if they play a QB who isn't ready and creates a lot of points for the other team via turnovers. Notice I didn't say whether that QB would be TT or Peterman, because honestly, I could see scenarios where either of them blows the game.
  15. Thorough argument. I'm convinced.
  16. no. They may well become cleared to play week 1, but as of today they are not.
  17. FAKENEWS - he threw plenty against 1's, and unlike TT actually connected on many of them. What in heck has anyone feeling good about Tyrod in this system? Tyrod has been absolutely brutal this preseason. QBR 29.7 is about as bad as it gets.
  18. Both QBs are cleared for practice - NOT to play
  19. No way he starts if he doesn't start practicing by Tuesday or Wednesday - but the team site is implying he may already be cleared for practice while still in the protocol.
  20. Not really. Tolbert is more of a runner than a blocker.
  21. At least Peterman was good enough to be the starter on his COLLEGE TEAM. Peterman was widely considered as the most NFL ready QB in his draft class. Cardale was NOT. The idea that a college 3rd stringer would be an NFL starter was a reach to say the least. Again - EJ Manuel, top Collegiate starter. Cardale Jones, the 3rd stringer on his college team who started only after the first two guys were injured.
  22. But your premise is false. Starters traded : Watkins and Darby for Matthews (starter) and Gaines (possible starter). That's it. Ragland has never played an NFL game and was a 3rd stringer on this team. Seymour was the 2nd string slot CB.
  23. The post you quoted said "hovering around ,500 like every year" - in response to yet another hyperbolic whiner calling this team the worst talent since the Jauron days - (odd since Jauron also went 7-9 every year). Noone is saying they are top of the heap - they're the same middle of the pack talent wise they have been for years - defensively they were crazy good 3 years ago by Ryan screwed that up. I don't blame Whaley for that - he was giving his coach (that he didn't choose) the players the coach said he needed to succeed. McBeane are just cleaning up Ryan's mess. THE ENTIRE 2016 SECONDARY IS GONE - that's not about trading away talent - they weren't great last year - it's about swapping out guys Ryan picked for his Man-heavy scheme for the Zone players McDermott needs. Every regime does that - but they've managed to add draft picks while doing the conversion - that's awesome.
  24. Yeah - I really don't see the argument with this. Maybe if Tyrod had been looking good before he was hurt, we could try to pretend he was live for another extension? Maybe in a different scheme that was power running and bombs? But TT was just plain horrible - QBR of 27.9 is close to as bad as it gets. He looked uncomfortable as heck out there.
