eeeeeek!
-
You aren't reading my posts - I'm stopping with yours. I already responded to this a while ago. No one scouting the QBs has failed to point out Darnold's own play declined between 2016 and 2017.
-
You had me right up until "McCarron" - that guy can't possibly be worth so much.
-
I'm not in love with Rosen either! And just STOP with TT - he's f-ing gone and good riddance. Not throwing INTs while not throwing the ball does not impress anyone but a few idiots here and on WGR550.
-
I don't see a single soul here saying Glenn wasn't good - WHEN HE WAS ON THE FIELD!! He's got some foot issues that could recur, and he's expensive as heck. Dawkins already got the opportunity last season and already proved himself.
-
I watched a few of them - he made a lot of dumb throws. Having said that, I'll trust Beane's and OBD's judgement over mine.
-
Seriously - WHY do people think Darnold is so good? Are they counting his interceptions as completed passes or something?
-
A "rock"??? Of all the things to call him!!! I love Cordy when he's on the field - but he's broken. I'm actually worried this deal will fall through b/c he fails his physical.

Mayfield could be there at 12 depending on how the FA goes
-
1. Trade up with Giants 2. Pump-fake the Browns into thinking you are taking their QB at #2 3. Cleveland panics and takes their QB - Bills take BARKLEY!!! at 2 4. TRADE Shady to Philly for Foles!!! Championship.
-
Good luck with that. Truest statement on the boards right now. Bills fans (at least here on TBD) simply can't be happy.

Is Josh Rosen really the QB that the Bills covet?
BobChalmers replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So you skip right past the "lack of pocket presence"? Intentional? Link to personality concerns being debunked...? - Rosen might be the best, but he's a statue in the pocket and an injury waiting to happen - lots of people think Darnold is the best despite his pile of INTs. - Allen might be the best, but his completion % was bad - Mayfield was the best in college last year, but he's short - Jackson is the best athlete but he's still a major project as a passer They ALL have issues AND they ALL have superstar potential. Trading away good draft picks to move up to pick a particular one of these guys over another is nuts. -

Yeah - b/c I don't lose a pile of draft picks on Sam Bradford - just some cap space. -

Yeah - Cleveland would be straight up insane to not take Barkley with their #1 - no one knows which of these guys is for sure better than the other 3-5 guys. They can get the best RB talent to come out in years and then even w/o trading still get at absolute worst their third (and more likely 2nd b/c Indy isn't going QB) choice out of a grab-bag of equivalent QB prospects. -

Sam Bradford 2.0 is the general consensus - poor pocket escapability leading to even more injury problems. Honestly I can't feel good trading way up for any of these guys - maybe Mayfield, maybe Allen if you're willing to sit him and are convinced he can improve. Seems like saving all those picks and just signing the original Sam Bradford 1.0 is a smarter move. -
How about Shady for Foles - good deal for both sides - Eagles are in win-now mode, and it would be HUGE for their fans
-
Let me the first to agree with part of your statement while proving your first assertion explicitly: Your idea is ridiculous. So go read the thread about Glenn's trade value - for a quick recap, he's still broken until proven otherwise, so... YOUR PLAN INVOLVES (potentially) HAVING NO decent OTs Gosh, I'd love to bring a rookie QB in to that mess.

Daniel jeremiah mock has a key Bills message
BobChalmers replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jackson's (lower) body combined with the way he plays scares the heck out of me that he will be broken a lot. RG3 was amazing - for (almost) a season. If I'm getting a running QB who's going to throw his body around I want him built like an RB (Wilson, Tyrod to an extent, Mayfield) or a mammoth tank (Rothelsberger, Cam) -

Gosh it sure is sad Watkins isn't our problem right now... -
Bucky Brooks NFL combine winners (Allen) & losers (Rosen).
BobChalmers replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Latest I'm seeing just from Mayock and co. at NFLN is his lack of ability to escape pressure in the pocket - which then leads to injury issues. Mayock's comp. for Rosen was Sam Bradford I hear you - but the bottom line with ALL of these QBs is that there is a lot of talent between them, and very little certainty about ANY of them. I sure as hell would NOT trade up to take one over another. Btw - to the OP - I didn't see anything wrong with Rosen. Based on what is shown at the combine he looks great - his issues wouldn't show up here (nor would a lot of Allen's) -
Badly missing my point. Who is the #1 QB? Who are the top 3? 6? Look - if the Browns are convinced that one of those QB's is a surefire franchise guy AND definitely better than the other 2, 4, or whatever, they should certainly take the QB. BUT the apparent truth is there is good and bad about all of these guys - none of them is guaranteed better than the other guys. OTOH, Barkley is the best RB prospect in several years. Giving up an easy choice for your first among multiple unknowns makes zero sense.

draft humor - Allen plugged into BF meme

How old do we have to be? I'm 54. -
I still think they want and should get one of the top rookies - I'm just saying the difference between the top 4 isn't clear enough to miss out on Barkley. So trading down depends on how far down they think they can trade and still get a good one - given that there's a flood of teams needing a QB after them (the whole reason the Bills need to trade up to 5 or similar to get their guy in all these mocks) they can't move down very far and still get a top 4 QB guy. It comes down to: Do you (if you're the Browns) want: - your first choice at QB, then a top safety or a bunch of picks in trade OR - your second choice at QB AND the consensus top offensive player in the whole draft
-
The problem with this whole concept is that Cleveland really does (and SHOULD) want BOTH of their early picks. If Sequon Barkley runs well at the combine at 230+ pounds, Cleveland would be nuts not to take him FIRST and then take whatever QB they can get at #4. Darnold is not special. ALL the rookie QBs have major question marks. Indy isn't taking a QB - they're taking DE Chubb. They very well could take Barkley if he's still there though. They just let Gore go. Cleveland at worst will get their 2nd choice at QB, and again, they all have significant flaws - any one of the first 4-6 could be the right answer. They can take Barkley and still have one of Darnold/Rosen/Mayfield/Allen. No brainer.

Sam Darnold not throwing at combine
BobChalmers replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So did Peterman. How tough a year of throwing to the other team gets you the most excited? Darnold did not play like a first-round pick this year. Competitive is nice. Throwing to your own team is better. No one to contrast it with I guess is his agent's theory.
