  1. Tonight he did not go five wide. Frequently he kept a rb in the backfield to help block against the Miami blitzes. The Bills ran on third and one at least twice tonight and got stuffed both times. CJ was great, but he got stuffed several times in the backfield. You cant run all time time, especially when the defense is stuffing the box the way Miami was tonight.
  2. I certainly wished they'd had Freddie available in this game as a change of pace form CJ, and to give him a blow. He'll get worn down if he has to take the beating Miami laid on him for any length of time. Plus, the Dolphins pass rush was pretty darn fierce, especially in the second half. Fitz was under heavy pressure many times, and would have been sacked even more if he had not escaped a few times. I wish they could break a long pass play in a couple of those situations to slow them down.
  3. They gave it to CJ on 3rd and 1 on that last drive where the Bills were trying to run out the clock, the way you guys have been screaming all year that Chan should do. What happened? He got stuffed and they had to punt, giving the Dolphins another chance to win. Averaging seven yards a carry does not mean that the runner gets seven yards every time he carries the ball. CJ got tackled for a loss quite a few times tonight, and other times he made yards when he had no business doing so. Third and one when the defense is stacked against you, it's hard for anyone to make a first down consistently. That said, I was unhappy with Tashard Chjoice, especially when he showed alligator arms on that third down pass that would have kept a drive alive. No guts.
  4. God, I want the Bills to beat the snot out of the Dolphins tomorrow night. I want a 30-point victory. Please, don't we deserve it?
  5. This. Gailey has gotten a lot of points out of some average players. Despite the Bills scoring only three points against the Niners, they are averaging 24 points a game. They were up 21-7 on the Pats in the third quarter this season, and 21-0 on the Pats in the second game last season. The offense is not the problem on this team. If the Bills could hold anyone under 24 points a game, they would be a dangerous team.
  6. I wanted the Bills to make him the permanent coach after he was the interim when Jauron was fired, and said so at the time.
  7. I went to grad school at Kansas and became a Jayhawks fan, and experienced a huge rush when they won NCAA basketball titles in the 80s and a few years ago--plus many disappointments when they failed in teh tournament. But they are always a contender. While out there I became a big fan of the KC Royals. I suffered when they lost three consecutive years in the 1970s to the Yankees in the playoffs, then lost the World Series in 1980 to the Phillies (I went to one of the games) but finally had the pleasure of seeing them come back from being doen three games to one (the first team ever to do this after having lost the first two games at home) to beat the Card in the 1985 World Series. Finally, I teach at NC State and followed Jim Valvano's basketball team through the magical 1983 NCAA tournament run ending with them upsetting Houston to win the title on the last second dunk by Lorenzo Charles. None of these could compare, however, to what I'd feel if the Bills were finally to win a Super Bowl. I'm not holding my breath.
  8. Yeah, stop by the Franchise Quarterback Store on the way back from the grocery and just pick one off the shelf.
  9. How many times have we seen this. Total humiliation. I can't take it anymore.
  10. I'm tired of it, though I understand why people say it. And if the Bills do manage to beat them, prepare to hear the exclusive reaction being, "What's wrong with the Patriots?"
  11. THIS
  12. THIS The Bills have come far enough along that they ought to be into the game thinking they can beat the Pats, regardless of whether CJ or Fred play. I'm not sure they are there yet, but this will be a huge test of how far they have come. It's the way the Pats were playing the Bills in 2000 or 2001, when the relative strengths of the teams were turning. The Bills had beat up on them for a decade, and the long dominance of the Pats over them had not begun. Smart money would say the Bills had their number. Well, that has to stop sometime. Someone's going to give the Pats three straight losses soon; why not us?
  13. I'll dissent. Loud, ranting, !@#$, sports analogue of Rush Limbaugh. A high-schooler's version of clever.
  14. Thanks. Sorry to have caused needless strife.
  15. I have to give Nix props for seeing that Glen could be a superior tackle when all the experts were saying he was a guard. He's still learning, but he is a beast. I was very impressed with his downfield blocking. The o-line, if they can stay healthy, is going to make itself known.
  16. I agree it did not affect the outcome of the game. I was just surprised. I'd like to see the actual reply from the broadcast, as it looked pretty clear there.
  17. Here's the video. Look at the final replay. http://www.nfl.com/videos/buffalo-bills/0ap1000000062671/Dwayne-Bowe-scores-again
  18. It certainly looked to me that Bowe's second foot came down clearly and unequivocally out of bounds. I thought all TDs were reviewed. Why wasn't this one reversed?
  19. This makes sense to me. The Bills are going to have to move up to get a blue chip QB prospect, and then hope to hell he isn't Jamarcus Russell or Vinde Young one of the other "can't miss" QB prospects who fail to work out. It will be a big risk, but I agree that the lack of a first rate QB is holding this team back.
  20. Exactly: I did not see the defense play any worse in the final six minutes than they had the entire game. They never stopped the Jets before then; why should they be able to after then?
  21. "...go for the 3 & out"? When did the Bills make the Jets go 3 & out in teh game? Oh, that's right . . . NEVER. Fitz stank in this game, but the defense was beyond belief bad. That was the biggest problem, to me.
  22. I figured I'd say McLovin and I'd be the only one, but apparently quite a few of you feel similarly.
  23. This. All you "run the ball" fanatics think this o-line is the 1993 Redskins hogs and are vastly mistaken. The reason the Bill have run so well is BECAUSE of the spread. Those holes are not going to be there if the Bills try to grind it out in a closed formation. Proof of this is that, when the Bills are in short yardage and try to go power running, they tend to get stuffed at the LOS.
  24. He meant "vaunted" but he doesn't know English.
