Only six games to go for the Bills.
-
Without further information I could not tell if he was being sincere in acknowledging that the Bills beat them, or sarcastic. I don't think in the end it matters at all.
-
And yet the Bills are averaging 29 points per game, third in the league, and have gone 8-2 so far this season.
-
I can see, if a couple of things go wrong, the Bills could spiral into getting beaten badly in this game. I hope I'm wrong but if I were betting I'd bet the Chiefs.
-
Given the injuries to Cooper, Coleman, and Kincaid, I think the Bills are at a real disadvantage in this game and the Chiefs ought to be favored.
-
Bills better not look past the Chiefs—this is a classic Trap game.

I hope the Bills win and I think they can despite all the WR injuries, which have put them in a tough spot. As for the rest of the season, the seeding for playoffs, etc., I think people make too many assumptions about how the last 6-7 games will play out. The way the league looks at week 10 is very often not the way it looks after week 17. "Time and chance happen to them all." Last year the Eagles looked unbeatable until they fell apart.

11/10/24 Game 10 GAMEDAY! Bills at Colts Gameday Thread
Dr. K replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Too many injuries! If they were healthy, the Bills would handle them, but I would not be surprised if the Bills lose this one. -
Is he wearing clothes?

I can see that this is what those who argue for dumping McDermott believe, but I think they are underestimating his positive qualities and vastly underestimating the difficulties of making such a switch. For instance, I think it's unlikely that Johnson or some other new coach is going to be able to consistently conjure up a top-ten defense, and get excellent play from defensive backs drafted in the 6th and 7th rounds or traded for from another team's backups, or to constantly deal with significant injuries without suffering a drastic decline in play, the way McDermott has for years.
-
I have a friend who is a rabid Bengals fan and he says there is a vocal contingent of Bengals fans who are fed up with Taylor and screaming for his head. The grass is always greener. Those calling for McDermott to be fired seldom name the coach they think is going to come in and instantly win a Super Bowl. When the do give a name it's as much wishful thinking as analysis: they completely discount those many things that McDermott does that are hard to come by in a coach, somehow expecting this new guy to have all those qualities plus never make a mistake and never have his kicker miss a tying field goal in a playoff game.

I am very happy about the team's performance this season overall but not happy about the injury situation. I know that injuries happen on all teams, and it's part of the game, but I'm very bummed about Coleman's injury. Even if it does not put him out, I can't see how he's going to play effectively with ligament damage when his strong point is making contested catches. Also the injuries to the D-line and linebackers (Smoot, Carter, Bernard looks hurt, Milano still out for some time) plus Benford--possibly even Allen--makes me nervous about the team going forward. Though I have to say that I'm always nervous. There is no joy in Mudville. . . .

No matter what issues he had with the Bills or the Bills had with him, I hate to see this. Especially tough for him since he's on an expiring contract.

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread

Tastes differ. I hear some fans say they can't stand Beth Mowins' voice. For me, Harlan's bellowing is ten times worse. -

I have come to hate Kevin Harlan as play by play announcer. His bellowing is obnoxious. -
If Brian Daboll gets fired, would you take him as OC?

Why? -
Bills (still) bringing in kickers for tryout: Brayden Narveson
Dr. K replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall
This Mevis guy's percentages in college were not that great except for one season. 84% overall. I'd like to see a breakdown by distance. weather condtiions, etc. I don't have much confidence in Bass right now, but I can't say this guy would be a solution. -
With the Bills' injuries, the coaching switch in NY, the fact that the game is being played in New Jersey, and the Jets' desperation, it's like everything is stacked up against the Bills for this game. Under these circumstances, if the Bills manage to win it will tell us something about the team and the coaching.
-
After firing Saleh the Jets will play their best game and beat the Bills. That’s the vibe I’m feeling anyway.
-
I think Samuel is going to have a game—at least the opportunity is there. He is not a chump. Sure. We’ve got good boundary corners. We’ll see if the safeties can play adequately.
-
Two tight ends, extra o-lineman, pound the ball on the ground. Samuel in the slot, Coleman wide. Mix in Hollins and Valdes-Scantling for variety, but mostly run it (Hollins can block), pass to tight ends, running backs. Take an occasional shot down field if the Houston defense crowds the line of scrimage. Bernard is back in at linebacker. Focus on limiting Collins and hope Cam Lewis does not get eaten alive by the Houston slot receiver (probably Diggs).

I'm not trying to insult you. I've questioned my own fandom at times. Why insult me?
-
Why follow the team, if that's what you think? Seriously. Seems like it would give you nothing but grief.

The injury list is daunting, but I don't think the Texans will roll over the Bills. I expect a close game.
