Super Bowl Thread: KC at Tampa Bay
Dr. K replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PREDICTION: The Bucs will win, going away. This will be the only Super Bowl that Brady will have won by more than ten points. Brady won't necessarily have a great game, but the Bucs overall will dominate the Chiefs. I don't say this because I like the Bucs--I'd much rather see the Chiefs win and Brady humiliated. I say the Bucs will win because: 1) The Chiefs are missing both their starting tackles 2) Reid's son's DUI puts a child in the hospital in critical condition 3) The best game the Chiefs have played in the last three months was against the Bills. They have been living on borrowed time and now their luck runs out. -
Super Bowl Thread: KC at Tampa Bay

I'm worried that the Chiefs will lay an egg and Brady wins another Super Bowl. -
Uh . . . "as great as I" is correct. You can tell because it sounds right if you add "am" at the end: "as great as I am." You would never say "... as great as me am" (I hope). Everybody who says "as great as me" is wrong. There are no possessive nouns in the quote you give. Not that it's a big deal. Everybody makes mistakes, and this stuff doesn't really matter compared to important things, but it just happens to be my job.

1/24/21 AFC Championship Game Postgame Thread
Dr. K replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A tough end to a great season. I prefer to dwell on the good things they accomplished and let the rest go. How far they came. Take a well deserved rest and look forward to next year. -
Would love to see JA finally dominate an AFC Championship game.
Dr. K replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The "finally" in that title is very weird. It might work if you made it, "I would like, finally, to see JA dominate an AFC Championship Game." But even that is confusing; Your sentence assumes he's been in multiple AFC championship games already. I'm not the kind of doctor who can do you much good, but I can fix sentences. -
Patrick Mahomes has cleared concussion protocol
Dr. K replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we should not overemphasize this situation. It's really a meaningless distraction to make such a big deal about it. I sure hope the Bills coaches & players are not spending time speculating about this. They need to play their game. -

Surprise! -
I lived in KC and nearby for ten years and have lots of friends back there, all Chiefs fans. I wish them well and hope the Chiefs are healthy going into the game, but am so pleased to see the Bills in this game and rooting for them to win. I'll be bummed if they lose, but I respect the attitude the Bills seem to have evolved going into this game, and it gives me a great feeling for the players and coaches. They seem mature and centered and have had their heads in the game. Hope they can keep that quality under the pressures they will face this weekend, and when they win, in the Super Bowl. I can't say this exactly makes me CALM, but it does make me feel like the Bills have a good chance to win. This really seems like the best team attitude the Bills have had at least since the 90s, maybe better than then even.

Fights in the stands during Wild Card Game? WTF?
Dr. K replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are always too many drunken louts at Bills/Sabres games. Some people ought not to be allowed to drink. -
Is everyone underestimating the Chiefs?
Dr. K replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Disinterested" means "not prejudiced" or "neutral" in a conflict. "Uninterested" means "I don't care" or "bored" The Chiefs may be uninterested (I doubt it) but they are not disinterested. —Your friendly neighborhood usage cop -
Wild Card: early game Baltimore at Tenn 1:05 on ESPN
Dr. K replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looks to me like the start of a blowout by the Ravens. -
I liked what Williams did against Miami, but can he pick up the blitz?

I don't think Daboll called such a bad game. Maybe not his best, but the Colts were charged up and playing their best game. Bills were getting beat all afternoon at the line of scrimmage. Rivers had all day to throw, and the Colts racked up ten minutes more TOP. The Bills' offense scored a lot considering how little they had the ball, and how terrible their field position was.

I am destroyed. My nerves are shot. I got nothing.

What Was Your Initial Reaction To Sean McDermott as Bills HC?
Dr. K replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was extremely glad to see Rex fired; I thought Rex's hiring was a mistake from day one. I knew nothing about McDermott; I was a little nervous about his religiosity, but happy to see the change and willing to give him a chance to win me over. Which he most certainly has. I like the way he has learned and changed on the job. -
I loved seeing the Bills demolish them in the first half. Then, in the second, on play after play the backups and practice squad players kept it going. It was such a treat to watch, and I've been watching them since 1966.

This is a wonderful feeling. Saw my first Bills game in 1966 at the Rockpile. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a victory more than this one. I think it's because there a special spirit between and among these players and coaches. It's powerful, and it makes a difference.

Chris Simms Unbuttoned review of Steelers-Bills
Dr. K replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was impressed with the pressure and physicality of the Steelers' defense in the first half. They punched the Bills in the mouth in that first quarter and the Bills struggled to string any plays together. But the Bills were already adjusting by the end of the second quarter with the drive for the field goal. Then after the half they seemed to have shaken off the Steelers' intensity, adjusted, and were counterpunching. The 7:11 drive to end the game was a thing of beauty, especially after they had to overcome a first and 20 at the beginning of the drive. The bootleg Daboll called for Josh to pick up the last first down (though he slid too early) was brilliant, I thought. -
Week 13: Sunday Games Thread, Around the League

Cleveland is absolutely going to lose this game. -
In confess that this knee injury has me worried, even if as of now as far as we know it does not look serious. It makes Allen vulnerable, and if he goes down, the team is in trouble. I know, BBFS, but it's hard to shake.
