Henne > Edwards
Dolphins O-Line > Bills O-Line
Dolpins LT Long gets signed to long-term contract
Bills 2-time Pro Bowl LT Peters traded as Bills unwilling to pay up for a first calibre LT
-
Miami went from 1-15 to 11-5 in one year. It can be done.
With Superbowl winner Bill Parcells as Prez of Football Operations and Jeff Ireland as General Manager....
The Bills? .... well, we have Marketing Whiz Kid Russ Brandon heading up the decision by committee approach.
Until we get our structure right, we will never be a winner.
Oh Bill Polian, if only you weren't run out of town......
-
This is a good game, both team can block, run, throw, catch...not like that Sh!& I watched yesterday...there is even some defense...deep TD's are these guys pros?
And the physicality of both teams is impressive.
Watch the Dolphins O-line tonight ... extremely physical
When did the Bills stop being a physical football team?
-
Aren't Lee Evans and Terrell Owens supposed to be deep ball capable receivers?
So why can't we hit them deep?
-
Sanchez has a first calibre offensive line and not the porous line that allowed Trent to be sacked 18 times so far in 2009
-
An offensive line helps too...but yes Trent is a mess.
2009 Sacks
Trent Edwards - Sacked 18 times
Peyton Manning -- Sacked 2 times
Hard to connect on the big throws when your butt's on the ground and you're under constant pressure from a porous, amateurish O-line.
-
2009 Sacks
Trent Edwards -- sacked 18 times
Peyton Manning -- sacked 2 times
Blame Trent for some of them. But the amateur O-line deserves some of the blame.
-
Brilliant footwork by Edwards. Brilliant hand/eye coordination by Edwards. Astounding throw by Sanchez into a small, perfect window.
-
While Marty has an abysmal playoff record of 5-13, at least he does have a playoff record and has been to the playoffs.
-
Jets Offensive Line. Offensive Line. Offensive Line.
They are lucky to have one.
And how many false start penalties do they have tonight?
-
Yeah if only the defense hadn't given up a whole 6 points things would have been different.
If only the Bills defense hadn't been shredded for 38 points by a Miami team with no wide-receiver threats and a rookie QB starting his first game....
-
It's politics now.
Trent got his chance to start because Dick and company drafted him and plunked him in as starter after Wilfork missled toward Loss-man's knees.
A new head coach and new assistants (next year?) could spell the end of Trent Edwards as an NFL starter.
It's in Trent's political interest to stand up for Jauron.

Mr. Larry is a real person. I can't reveal his true identity to protect him from the paparazzi.
Is he a team person or someone on the outside?
-
Great tackling by the Jets.
Love the way they swarm

Miami pays the $$$ needed to lock up LT Long for the long-term
Buffalo trades a two-time pro-bowl LT in Peters that it doesn't want to pay the market rate to
Miami has Bill Parcells and Jake Ireland running the football ship
Buffalo has decision-making by committee, run by Marketing whiz-kid Brandon
-
Mike Nolan. We need toughness, physicality, and a defence that doesn't get shredded for 38 points by a Miami team with no wide receiver threats and a rookie QB. Nolan confounded the NE offence in the 2nd half of yesterday's game.
And hire a real offensive coordinator. We "promoted" Schonert "from within" after Fairchild left. That was our opportunity to hire a real OC like Cam Cameron who is doing a wonders with 2nd year QB Joe Flacco.
-
Mike Nolan. Next year. Do it Ralph.
-
Surrounding yourself with terrible assistants is the best recipe for job security when you're a terrible coach.
Promoting Schonert "from within" when experienced OCs like Cam Cameron (now doing a great job with Joe Flacco) were available was a good example of vintage Jauron decision-making.
-
If only we had hired a real OC after Fairchild bolted to Colorado, ....
Cam Cameron, and others were available (and look what Cameron has been able to do with Joe Flacco over two seasons)
But Ralph, Dick, and company went the conservative route and promoted "from within" ... elevating Schonert (and now Van Pelt) to a role neither had experience in

Wouldn't that be the usual Monday morning, day-after-the-game news conference?
That Monday presser normally is held at 1:00 pm.

Until you observe the coach for a consistent 3 hour period (instead of periodic TV snippets) x 16 games, it's hard to accept you as a behavioural psychologist that makes a link between coaching "passion" and success.
Tony Dungy also doesn't have the visible sideline passion that you desire but was a Superbowl winning coach. Other good coaches like Lovie Smith, Mike Smith and even greats like Joe Gibbs didn't have the passion that you seem to imply is related to success.
Observing a coach on the sideline or in a press conference and concluding that a visible lack of passion over the 3-hour game period implies they aren't a good coach is making a big leap.
Focus on Dick's faults.
-His conservatism
-His clock management
-His personnel decisions
-etc.
Those are what makes him a poor coach, not that he's an introvert.
Focus on the content of his role and how he is failing on most of it.
-
Stiffening the interior of the line with the (promising) rookies surrounding Hangartner was the right call, but expecting them to play like veterans in year 1 was a huge risk that Jauron, marketing whiz Brandon, and company took. And expecting that Peters was fully replaceable was another huge risk.
The risks will ultimately cost Jauron his job. And then the marketing whiz who runs football operations will bring in a new coach.
-
The front office does not understand what it takes to win in our division.
In regard to the "front office", do you mean the marketing whiz kid who's our COO and plays a key role in personnel and draft decisions?
