  1. I'm all for socially ostracizing Ipad owners.
  2. I saw this on another site first. I remember thinking "this has to be the 9th circuit". Is anyone surprised by their decisions anymore?
  3. And they will be far less powerful, as they will be dependent on other groups to make money (The Colombians). Not to mention, that the DEA will go from flying helicopters over public parks, to fighting the use of harder drugs. If you are worried about the increase of hard drug use, then perhaps you should be advocating Portugal-style drug laws. They have slashed the number of drug users by 50% or more in some cases.
  4. If you are equating violence caused by alcohol to violence caused by marijuana, then you should not even be discussing the subject. I think people should actually understand what they are talking about before they comment. I've never seen someone get high and want to beat his wife, but I have seen plenty of people get violent when drunk. Ask anyone who has done both and they will tell you the difference. People are really going to be going out and killing people for their $100 ounces of bud.
  5. I'd be extremely happy if what happened to the mafia happens to the cartels. The heads of the mob went from being the richest men in America, to simply wealthy men. If you think they found something more lucrative, its not worth debating with you. Any person who knows a shred of information about organized crime knows that the mafia had it's heyday during alcohol prohibition. But hey, there is this mysterious activity that these cartels will engage in that is "more lucrative" than selling marijuana. God knows why they haven't done it already, after all, it will make them more money than selling weed. Also, can you please explain how they will "market" harder drugs? 90% of people going to dealers now, will have no reason to when weed is legal. The streets are already full of very potent heroin and meth, so flooding the market won't do anything. Not to mention that these Cartels make far less on the harder drugs, as they have to be bought from the Colombians and other organizations (with the exception being meth). I'm actually quite astounded that you think that people will start doing harder drugs simply because marijuana is legal, Chef. If anything it will go way down. If i have my first joint from a 7/11, there is no need to go see a drug dealer and be introduced to that element of society. People who drink beer aren't suddenly going out and shooting up heroin, and it will be no different with marijuana. I guess those evil cartels will have to start advertising their methamphetamine during American Idol once California legalizes pot.
  6. Yes, because teams don't pass well when they have success running the ball.
  7. Yes, removing an entities flagship product does not hurt them. Lets take a poll: Who thinks if Cola were made illegal, Coca-Cola would be hurt financially? The American economy crashed because credit dried up, and the Mexican cartel's pocket books will implode when they lose 60% of their revenue.
  8. No, no Chef. The housing bubble bursting won't hurt our economy, Americans will just find other jobs to work. No, no... making cola illegal will not hurt Coca-Cola, they will just find something else to sell.
  9. They will become far weaker, and will move into other, less profitable, areas. Marijuana and meth are the only two drugs that the cartels can make themselves. They have to buy everything else from other sources. There isn't a large enough customer base to support current activities just on hard drugs, so they will try to enhance their profits through other means. I suspect kidnappings, racketeering, and human trafficking will rise. These won't be able to sustain them, simply because Mexicans have far less money than Americans. They will still make a killing off hard drugs, but reducing their profits means reducing their manpower. You can't hire thugs to kill a judge if you don't have money. There is no question they will be far weaker.
  10. Number of people who use coke: 1.5 million Number of people who smoke marijuana: 26 million But yeah, the cartels can just flood the market with cheap cocaine. Oh wait, they buy it from the Colombians. Guess what Chef? Heroin is very cheap and very pure right now, but people aren't doing it. How are they suppose to market it?
  11. Where exactly are these customers going to come from? It's not like the cartels can get on TV and advertise heroin. The cartels went to marijuana simply because there isn't a big enough customer base for hard drugs in the United States. Really, Chef? Show me the mobster who buys $125,000 gold belt buckles for his cronies. Oh wait, you can't. There was never a point in American history that organized crime was more powerful than prohibition. The richest men in America are no longer mobsters for a reason.
  12. And the ending of prohibition didn't hurt the mafia? No, legalizing marijuana will not eliminate cartels, or gangs, but it will take away a large portion of their income. Chef, your argument is akin to resisting the elimination of prohibition, because the mob would increase racketeering. Marijuana sales make up 50-60% of Mexican cartel profits. I find it extremely hard to believe that the cartels will be able to weather the legalization without severely reducing manpower/bribes/arms. It's no coincidence that organized crime was at its height under prohibition, and its no surprise cartels are at theirs, now.
  13. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/08/17/n...t-of-preseason/
  14. He's out for the rest of the preseason, but it doesn't look like he will be out much longer than that.
  15. Pot is for losers
  16. There is no salary cap.
  17. Netflix is well worth the 10 bucks a month for access to all their streamed movies/TV shows.
  18. I doubt it. The Democrats will not have enough votes in the Senate to override a Republican filibuster.
  19. He's been the best pass rushing OLB by far in camp.
  20. Selling 30% of the Bills to Jim Kelly's group would be a great thing. His group would only have to raise enough for 21% more of the team in order to keep them in Buffalo.
  21. Troup looks like a beast in training camp. He was one of the strongest players coming out of college, is in great shape, and is making very good progress. Yeah, there is a chance that he could flat out suck in the preseason/season, but that's not likely.
  22. If Troup and Williams keep playing the way they are, yes our defense could be very good.
  23. Sports betting in Vegas wasn't built on being right. Vegas was built on getting the right amount of people to bet on each side of the over/under. Its all based on psychology, not predictive ability.
  24. Miami just shifted Randy Starks to the nose, who is around 300 lbs. Kelly Gregg has been between 310 and 320 in his career. Jason Ferguson was/is 310 lbs. Aubrayo Franklin is a 315 lbs NT. You don't have to be 330 lbs to be an effective NT.
  25. Except, the fact, that anyone who has been to training camp comes back saying how good Troup and Williams are. You do know that there several very good NTs in the NFL that aren't "space eaters", right?
