Terrible, terrible trade. Let's create an even bigger need at DE by trading away a pass rush specialist and use the pick replace our 3x 1,000 yard slot receiver. Not to mention replacing Lawson with Shazier would only make our run defense worse.

WVAU TV Marcel Dareus arrested-edit-again
Fingon replied to Punch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, Marcell should just never leave the house with the stuff. It's better for his career that he smokes synthetic because it's not banned by the NFL. The only problem for him is getting caught by the police with it. -
Honestly? I hate this hack Mike Rodak
Fingon replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bill Polian ripped him a new one live on SportsCenter it was really funny. Rodak came on to announce the Bills had traded up to number one overall in their reporter mock draft. The Bills ended up giving up 1 and 2 this year and the next. Herm was speechless and simply deferred to Bill who said something like "whoever came up with this trade didn't think it through." Everyone on the panel agreed the price Rodak paid to move up was outlandish. There were comparisons to the Herschel Walker trade... it was pretty brutal. -

Except the NFLPA says you are wrong, and the league didn't even try to contradict them. Do i have to quote DeMaurice Smith again? -

Yes, but the league will let his legal situation play out, and in all likelihood Dareus will plead down to a low level misdemeanor. What's the suspension for someone who gets convicted for that? As far as I know this is Dareus' first time in trouble and first time arrests don't get players suspended. -

Kellen Winslow Jr. was charged with Synthetic Marijuana possession. He was not suspended. This is what DeMaurice Smith had to say: "Our drug policy is one that has strict and well-defined drugs that are banned," NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith said before the Super Bowl earlier this year. "If they are not on the list, they can't serve as the basis for discipline." -

It doesn't matter. The NFL still suspends players that aren't on teams, AND they even make them take drug tests. Brandon Browner almost got suspended for a year because he didn't take drug tests for the NFL while he was playing in the CFL. -

Kellen Winslow Jr. got caught masturbating in public and being in possession of synthetic marijuana. Something tells me if Winslow didn't get suspended Dareus won't. -

Paraphernalia for using something that isn't banned by the NFL? A cup is paraphernalia for Coca-Cola. -

Does anyone think DT is now a need?

There are no "offenses" for synthetic marijuana. It's not banned by the NFL. -

He'll get a pass because synthetic marijuana is not banned by the NFL and cannot be used as a basis for punishment. -

Dareus can't be suspended under the league's drug policy because Spice is not a banned substance. -

The Bills need to get him out of Alabama. I knew the average Alabaman had a few screws loose, but felony charges for synthetic pot and a pipe? I guess you can't be surprised by a place where sodomy is still illegal. -
This is one of the more talented rosters in the NFL. The Bills need to get an elite difference making player in this year's draft, and Clowney would undoubtedly be that type of player. Our defensive line would far and away be the best in the league. The only real question if we got Clowney would be if EJ can progress from last year. Pears/Hairston isn't going to kill you for one year. This team can go very far if EJ plays well.

Bad Vibes About A Certain Player.....

The Eagles tried to trade for Spiller. The Bills weren't even interested in discussing it. Also, no one is saying Spiller is as good as Jim Brown. Brown played in an era when stopping the run was a defense's number one priority. All we are saying is that no one else in the NFL (besides Jamaal Charles) produces as much per touch. -

That still creates value for us. Would we all not take Justin Houston or Keenan Allen? Also, I have no problem with the failed drug test. A player could simply be rehabbing an injury and wants to avoid an opiate addiction. Then again, the NFL would have no problem with Vicodin. I'm not going to judge them as I do not live in almost near constant pain, and many football players do. -

Spiller has a career average of 5.1 yards per carry, and is 2 years away from 1250 yards on 6.0 YPC. Even last year he had 900 yards on 4.6 YPC while playing the entire season on a bum ankle. Marshawn Lynch has had one season in his ENTIRE career with a YPC above 4.2. Spiller is on pace to be one of the all-time leaders in NFL history for career yards per carry. I believe only Jamaal Charles is ahead of him at this point. The point is that we need more players that are ridiculously efficient with the ball in their hands. If Watkins produce at a rate like Spiller does then he will be a great player. Edit: Sorry, Spiller is .1 behind Jim Brown and is 3rd all time for RBs. -
I agree. If they sell the team to someone who moves it, then they will be reviled figures around the Buffalo area. At this point though, there are too many groups competing to keep them here for them to leave.

This creates some value for us. If these guys drop because of failed drug tests I say take them if they can play. Many star players in the NFL not only smoke weed, but also failed drug tests for it. I mean we drafted Kiko Alonso in round two (multiple arrests), but we wouldn't draft someone who smoked a joint? I find that hard to believe.
