Well ... I really have to squeeze the juice out of every win with this team because they look like they don't have any killer instinct. Can JP turn it on now that the wheels have come off? I've got very little faith.

Lee Evans ... I'm having trouble spotting him. All double coverage?

The average american man dies before they reach 80 years old. Here's Marv lifting, running, and managing an NFL football team. He's a big part of what I loved about the Bills in the 80s and 90s and he continues to impress.

I have kind of accepted that this is a rebuilding year and that it's going to be very tough for this team to put together a winning record. Having said this - what if one of our QBs emerges and becomes an asset rather than a liability. I think this could have a dramatic impact on the rest of the team. I don't know if it will translate into wins, but I'm holding out some hope that this team could suprise me by the end of the year. I've always admired Marv Levy and I think his heart will rub off on the team making it stronger and more resilient. Hopefully one of our QBs will be better than I expect and we'll actually see some action in the win column.

Lost my best friend to a similar brain tumor when he was 18. Horrible news ... my thoughts go out to his family.

Marv and Co. are getting ripped for trading back into the first round and picking McCargo. They gave up a 2 and a 3 to get him. 2 years ago TD moved back into the bottom of the first round and gave up a 2nd, a 5th and the next years 1! You can rip the pick - but it certainly doesn't look like Marv got fleeced to move back into the first round. I've always been a huge fan of Marv's and I'm not going to panic about his draft just because it's not exactly what the experts think should be done. Some may not love the McCargo pick - but it seems that the price to move up wasn't too high.

I'm suprised I haven't heard of any of these guys getting looks. Maybe we're not losing too much.
-
Just a question - could any of our DTs play end in a 3-4? Or would they be too slow? I'm thinking Bannan, Sape, and Anderson. All have good size and some quickness. None of them are great at DTs - but maybe they would work on a 3-4 as ends. You've also got Denny who is pretty big and good against the run. Shobel could stand up at "linebacker" like Jason Taylor has done this year. It would be nice if we could run 3-4 and 4-3 like the pats seem to be able to do.

If this were the Bills instead of the Steelers and that happened I would be out of my mind. As it is - I think it's a ridiculous call. Especially when they overruled the call on the field. Unreal!

So if he lies there on the ground with the ball it's an interception ... but if he tries to get up and do something with it then it's not? Does that make ANY sense? Total bull sh--!

The Official Let's Hire Mike Sherman Thread

He seems qualified. What do people consider to be his strengths vs. weaknesses? I know he's got a winning record - which is great - but I don't know much else. Green Bay dumped him for an OC who's team was 32 in the league! Does anyone know why they made this move? -
I think Marv could be a good Mentor to Ralph Wilson and give him solid advice on the next moves that we make. I don't see how it could hurt.
-
I hope Ralph Wilson reads this post and takes the appropriate action. After reading your list - I must agree that Mularkey is NOT even an average head coach. This is not all about the players, or the offensive or defensive line. In the end, great coaches put players in a position to win. Our coaches have not done that this year and it makes us look like a team with tons of holes. The question is who do we get?
-
The Bills could end up with a worse record than the Jets. All this talk about them getting Reggie Bush. Watching this game I'm amazed this team actually won 4 games this year. Right now we have to be one of the worst teams in the NFL hands down. I'm ready for a change.

I didn't really get to watch the game closely until today. I've just finished watching the first half of offense for the Bills and two things stand out. 1. Losman played very well. He hit a lot of difficult passes and was sharp. Often times he was put in 2 and 3rd and long and still produced. I'm suprised the Bills only had 6 points after the half. Of course, the running game was awful in the fist half and penalties were killers. 2. Jason Peters played quite well. He got blown up once by Julius Peppers in the first half for a sack ... but he otherwise looked quite good. His pass blocking looked decent and he got a push in the running game. Not bad for an undrafted Tight End. I'm not going to have time to watch the rest - and obviously it must go down hill from here. Still, there are some encouraging signs in an otherwise dismal season. I'm pulling for our first road win tomorrow!
-
I have to agree. I think that we should go DT in round 1 and possibly in later rounds as well. We still have a 2 and two 3s that are all pretty high choices. Round out with OL, Safety, and LB or CB with those choices. I'd love to see us look at a top free agent OL that can be plugged in right away.

MM's panic moves with the offense
puppet replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate to admit it ... but you make some excellent points. Then throw in the fact that the defense cannot compete with elite teams and it's downright scary. This team appears to have no direction. As a long time Bills fan it's tough. Is there a silver lining that I can point to? -
This is a horrible team! What the hell happed to the Bills that I loved? They are tough to watch at this point.
-
Mike Williams? Seems like the Bills are struggling to get any push ... what is Mike Williams doing? How is he doing? I'm listening to the game on the radio ... and so far our offense sounds awful, and unprepared after bye.
-
Ok ... here's my solution ... put big Mike Williams on the Offensive Line in place of Big Bennie Anderson .... then stick Big Huge Bennie Anderson on the Defensive line as an alternate DT on obvious running plays. Hell ... he might actually be better run stuffer than some of the smaller weaker guys next to Sam right now!
-
Ouch! We needed that in such a close ball game. I would love to see us at 2-2 to keep the game interesting. I will say that our Defense just isn't that impressive so far this season.
-
Our defense really has me concerned. Alanta is moving on our #1s at will. Are they going to pull this thing together? The D was supposed to be so strong that our O could take time to develop. No turnovers ... no stops = no wins for our Bills unfortunately.
-
I'm in total agreement with you. I expected a loss ... and wasn't surprised to see or defense struggle or our offense struggle. A road game with an inexperienced QB against a good team in 95 degree heat. This is not a good formula for the Bills. The good news is this was a road loss against an NFC team. It's a long season ... and my hope is we can stay competitive and see offensive improvement as the season moves forward. Last year we had to wait until week five for our first win. 1-1 and 1-0 in the AFC doesn't feel too bad to me!

That Tia from the Eagles squad is the one that I singled out. She is a true beauty. Funny, I see someone else found her a few threads up. http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/cheerlea...io.jsp?id=10555
