  1. Yeah, supposed to be dry this weekend. I'll get my football fix tomorrow at the UB game (can't go cold turkey). I think we'll avoid Ellicotville and Letchworth (big craft show) for the crowds and probably just stay on 16 all the way to Bonas. I really love the campus in the fall, it's just beautiful. This is a great topic and I was thinking about the question at the heart of it, which is how do each of us show our dissatisfaction with this organization? I think there are many who feel weary about this team like we do. Some are enflamed and passionate, but I think the majority are beaten down. I really feel bad for the business owners who thrive on this team's success (bars, restaurants, team gear stores, etc.). Their lives have been affected far more than mine by this mess. I guarantee the Bills store business has to be way down, even with the T.O. bump. Just a very sad and depressing situation.
  2. That's my feeling. Have never seen the point in booing my team. Rooting against them...not an option. But I can lose interest, starting this weekend. At 1pm Sunday, I'll be driving in the southern tier with the wife and pooches enjoying the beautiful fall foliage and (hopefully) not listening to the game. I don't know if it's the 10 years of futility or my age, but this team has worn me down to the point to where I just don't care as deeply as I used to.
  3. Well said. Time and place is the key. Some of the suggestions in this thread are extremely distateful. Anyone in attendance at the Pat Mcgroder Wall of Fame ceremony in '85? I was and many "fans" embarrassed themselves that day by drowning out Ralph's induction speech by booing him. Anyone who thinks Ralph doesn't want to win as badly as anybody in that stadium is a fool. He just isn't particularly good at accomplishing that, and no amount of booing is going to change that. For me, I respect his longevity in the game, devotion to Buffalo (despite his sometimes clumsy way he shows it), and the respect he has garnered around the league.
  4. What the Jills would look like if they held open tryouts at UB.
  5. JB: "OK, let me get this straight. I let you sock me one time in the stomach with your cast hand, and you'll give me all your Dave & Buster tickets?" DW: "Yeah bro, and I got like a thousand of em!"
  6. Looked to me like Trent had a 24 second rule the way he walked off the field all smiley and such. Oh well, it's only a game Trent.
  7. The best part is that the link includes options on playoff tickets. Now that's funny!!! This is living proof that the Bills (and any other pro sports franchise, I imagine) will accept literally anyone who is willing to sponsor them, no matter how stupid the idea.
  8. Actually, no limo is involved. I just saw Chuckie drive down Genesee Street in . Wouldn't be surprised to see an afternoon presser scheduled today.
  9. Always have enjoyed Jon Krakauer's books. His new one, "Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman" looks very interesting and is getting decent reviews so far. Link
  10. Maybe that stat isn't necessarily telling on a game by game basis, but to not accomplish it once in two and a half seasons is just pathetic. It really is evidence, along with Dickie J's sterling 2-23 record against winning teams, of the futility of this franchise. It's all very depressing.
  11. Driver (Trent Edwards): "My fault! But I really think I've learned a few things that will help us next time" Store Clerk (Bill in NYC): "Don't worry Trent. It's not your fault. The bricks on the outside of the building can't block for ****"
  12. Back to Beerball's original question, count me in. Oh yeah, and Dick and Trent both suck. Better?
  13. On the UFL's budget? Not as long as phonebooks are still free.
  14. Not annoying, just surprising. Shocking maybe.
  15. I kind of think your doing it bass ackwards Steve. I would have flown out first. Then flown back in early October and made the drive with the wife and dogs. They should be able to handle the drive easily but, from experience, it is much easier to travel with dogs when there are two adults in the car. I personally have never "shipped" my dogs and hope to never have to.
  16. If true, then Dockery is a world class jerk. You mail it in when you get the richest contract in team history? That tells you everything you need to know about a person. Good luck with that one, Redskins.
  17. paging Gordio. Hope you didn't bet the Miners. Great road win. Cannot wait for the Pitt game next week.
  18. It's also listed at http://www.channelsurfing.net/ which has been reliable for me in the past (mostly for college hoops)
  19. I know Al Gore was one of them, but any idea who the othere were?
