  1. I hear he plays with a lot of head, too.
  2. Link Apparently Captain Phil let the cameras roll until the very end. Should be interesting to see how much the family allows to air.
  3. This one is pretty creative (SFW) link
  4. Blazing Saddles. Well done.
  5. Dies after suffering a massive stroke while in port Link
  6. Agreed on the off-key at the end, otherwise she did an allright job. Certainly nothing special. My comment is about that white jumpsuit. It looked like she stole her outfit off a manikan at the Elvis museum. Pairing it up with the chunky heels made her look like a hooker. I wish people given the honor of singing our National Anthem would dress appropriately. Sigh.
  7. Outstanding work Lori! I knew Greggo was full of it with his 20/20 hindsight but to find written evidence of it is too much. I know the guy has a SB ring now and he did do a very good job with his game plan, but I just can't stand his arrogance. Capable assistant but a lousy HC.
  8. I can see the ads now "cum on out and support Haitian relief"
  9. Ken, I was hoping to get your take on this. I agree completely. Floyd was a nice player, but not HOF worthy. The Hall of Very Good strikes again.
  10. Welcome back 'sphere!! VERY good to hear from you again! And now I can change this awful avatar.
  11. And the latest update: You know things are back to normal when you can take time to clean the cat box and empty the dishwasher. I picked up a small dish we don't use very often and realized that I couldn't reach the high shelf where it belongs. Then I realized that it didn't matter....I could save it for my tall husband. Big exhale here. We were all out of underwear so I threw in a load. If you know us, you know that John is Mr. Laundry in our house. He hates how I do it (I don't read labels and I often forget to move stuff to the dryer in a timely manner ;}). The usual powder detergent wasn't there, just some liquidy/cloroxy/gel-type stuff. I poured in a cup and hoped for the best. Reason number 8472 why we need John back home. I'm thinking a lot today about perspective, putting things into it, changing it, etc. The infectious disease doctor visited yesterday. He's a tall, angular man, very bright, no people skills. He's blunt to say the least. He goes up to John and says, "Hey, you ever see the movie The Matrix? The part where the guy leans his head a little and the bullet misses him by a millimeter? Well, that was you. You nearly died. Have a nice day." We spend so much time on autopilot; we let time go by, uncelebrated. We let 9 years go by since we've seen a brother, 14 years since we've seen a niece or a goddaughter. We assume they will just be there. Now I can't claim that I've had a big epiphany or anything (haha Jodie and JRowe). I am all too human and very unperfect. But I will do my best to remember what matters most in life. I will appreciate more and complain less. So as I'm driving to the hospital this morning, I've got that same U2 concert mix cd playing. As I got ready to buzz through Starbucks to get John his half water grande Americano, here's what played: It's a beautiful day Sky falls, you feel like It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away I'm gonna work on not letting any more time just get away. It is indeed a beautiful day. Notes: *We're in room 417, truly the Four Seasons Clift of hospital rooms. Flat screen and DVD player! *Still no word on how much longer we will be here or when the sinus procedure will happen *John greeted me with "Hey, Dick Jauron's going to the Eagles." *Paul, the peaty single malt I couldn't remember is called Laphroaig. Peter, wow, you got home so late last night. *Henry, the pink flowers have their own shelf here ;} *John ordered me to tell the nurse he plans to go home TODAY. Uh, no. *An IV and heart monitor are still attached. Love to all. All the praying made a big difference. I think God said, "Alright already!" All good news. Great to hear John commented on Jauron. Keep getting better 'Sphere!! Go Bills.
  12. Just glanced at the guestbook at the caringbridge site and John's older brother Paul signed his message "Beerball the Elder". Nice!!! The news seems to be getting more encouraging each day. Keep it up John!!
  13. Welcome back Tim. Thanks for whatever time you can eek out for us. As I said before, the vast majority of us really appreciate it. Soooo, what do you think of the staff Gailey has put together so far? Any insight into the DC position and who is on the radar? And no, I don't want your sources, thank you very much.
  14. See the Beerball thread
  15. Great idea. Done.
  16. Latest update from Roberta. They are dialing back the sedation again to see how John responds. Keep your fingers crossed and the prayers coming. Good to see Roberta is staying strong. It has to be extraordinarily hard on her. Sunday, January 31, 2010 8:00 AM, CST Last night, we all ditched the hospital for dinner and trooped down to Hutchin's bar-b-que. John's brothers Peter and Paul along with Philip, Megan, and Liz joined me to tear up some high quality pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey, sausage, ribs, and catfish. What? I'm gonna take them to the Olive Garden? John would never forgive me. We came back and visited for a cople of more hours. The staff here has been so kind about letting us sit and talk with John. He seems to respond to family voices. The Niche brothers obtained a sticker (I believe from John's buddy Henry's daugher) and just HAD to attach it to John. It says "I act up". Bwahahahaha! Of course we took a picture. They are dialing back the sedation right now. We will see if he thinks it's time to wake up and respond. Fingers crossed.
  17. Shore Talk, that is some top notch sarcasm. I had to read your post carefully to figure out where you're coming from. Well done and a nice jab at all the DOOMsayers. Give the guy a chance is my philosophy. Buddy can sound like Martha Stewart for all I care if he can do the job. Go Bills.
  18. New post from Roberta, and encouraging news: Saturday, January 30, 2010 7:57 AM, CST He's waking up! As the sedation is dialed back,he's more and more alert. He looked right at me with awareness and two tears came out. Although it broke my heart, I was so gladgladglad Keep fighting 'sphere!!!
  19. Anxiously awaiting good news, and still praying.
  20. Absolutely fantatstic! I have already forwarded this around. Thanks for posting it.
  21. Wow this is an unpleasant surprise. Thoughts and prayers for Beerball for a speedy recovery.
  22. I would be hard pressed to think of something more pathetic than that.

  24. I think this is your best post yet.
