What a nightmare, we are starting a QB who could not even manage one first down against back up players in Washington. third down and 7 he throws a 5 yard pass, third down and 9 he throws a 6 yard pass. Final score will be 51-3. first loss in a 2-14 season.
Play Brad Smith at QB and run the wishbone. It's are only chance. This season went from promising to a total disaster within a freakin week. No CB's or QB's and were playing New England. Best game plan punt on 1st down Blitz on everydown.
I would love the Bills to have a winning record as much as anyone else, and I believe it's possible, but this year is more about getting EJ to play and get some expreience. By the end of the year if he is looking great that's all you can really ask.
I think the Bills are playing a certain way defensively, with the DB's off the WR's and a more bland gameplan to see how the corners play in space. So they can evaluate players. As for the rest they are just getting pushed around. The Bills have made it worse by dropping several INT's and missing on a fumble.
It's a good thing that they are getting there butts handed to them, they wont go into the NE with swelled heads and will have a little more coaching. Today they suck.
This is my take,
The first drive sealed the deal for EJ Manuel and the coaching staff decided he is the real deal. After the game EJ had some slight swelling and he had his knee drained which is "minor Surgery", and as a precaution will sit him for the next weeks game. He was never going to play in the 4th preseason game anyhow. This will give him the staff a chance to see if Kolb is a total bust and if they need to pursue a decent backup. This will also disguise who the QB will be when they play the Patriots.
John Clayton said he believes that he just had his knee drained and it just a precautionary measure to sit him for two games and the fourth preseason game he would not of played anyhow.
On the NFL Network Warren Sapp Said the surgery recovery is about three weeks, which is how long there is two the season starts. If Manuel can'y play in the opener, kiss the season goodbye. 6-10.
Why not 5-2, the Bills have the talent, coaching, youth ,speed and desire to make it happen. And it would quite shrills like yourself and only true Bills fan would continue to post.
When you are playing ROOKIE QB, with a Rookie coach and many new players there is no much thing as a meaningless 1ST preseason game or win. Both are needed and important, and after many years of crap dressed in a Bills uniform it is a pleasant breath of fresh air.
He was playing with backups, and technically to some he is a back up to. Way to rain on the parade. EJ may have some learning to do, but you can see he is no Fitz, Losman or Edwards. He will be good and maybe real good. Give him a chance.
