Alexandria, The New Direction Of The Democrats
Azalin replied to 3rdnlng's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I remember most of those as issues, but I didn't realize that articles of impeachment were actually drawn up on any of them. I'm not saying that I'm surprised - the left absolutely hated GW Bush. -

I don't think it's a memory issue at all, it's just part of their emotional freakout. I know people that think that Clinton wasn't impeached because he was never thrown out of office. I also know people who are apparently unaware that criminal activity must be involved to impeach a sitting president, that it takes more than the simple belief that the president is a bad person. I consider the continued digging into Trump's sexual conquests, the insistence of some kind of collusion with Russia, and everything else to be proof that Trump's detractors will not only stop at nothing to be rid of him, but that they have little desire to understand exactly what it takes to impeach a president. -

No surprise here - my district went 81% Hillary, which would explain why everyone around here seems so pissed off all the time. -
The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
Azalin replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I mentioned this the other day, probably in a different thread. Facebook, Twitter (I don't have an account, but anything I see posted on Twitter invariably devolves into the usual brainless back & forth), youtube comments, and any comments/reactions posted following a news piece published online (pretty much any source/site) are all the same: a whole lotta talk, and not much thought behind any of it. -

My, how quickly things change. Apparently, the word archive has disappeared from the modern lexicon. -

An opinion piece, no less. -
I'm actually surprised that it took this long.

But I actually like Beaker.

I don't care what you say, as far as I'm concerned the words anal orifice and party simply do not belong in the same sentence.

You're both a republican and a democrat? That's one way for your side to win, I suppose.

If that person believes Buffalo Gal deserved that rebuke, then that person may wish to more specifically state their case. Otherwise, that person may wish to be more introspective. -

He appears to strive for quantity of posts; coherence and relevancy not so much. -

I think you're onto something here. The spray-on tan is supposed to make it look as if he can go out in the sunlight. It might have worked had he invested in a quality spray-on pigment.

They do it because it works. Most people who aren't engaged in politics & events watch their evening news, skim the local paper, and that's about all they get. Many have no clue that Kavanaugh has already breezed through confirmation hearings in the past. All they hear is "right wing extremist" and they get nervous. That's only the media's fault in part. People need to pay attention.

Indeed. This is what I like about Twitter: Absolutely there is. Like my (and everyone else's) facebook feed, Twitter serves to provide a platform where people I didn't realize were hopeless buffoons can, at any time, display both their intellectual ineptitude and the extraordinary ego required to actually believe the world gives a %$#@ what they think. Both platforms have saved me countless hours spent in fruitless conversation and more aggravation than I can possibly imagine. How is that possibly a bad thing? Melania signed contracts with white people to destroy Hillary Clinton! -
Fair enough, I'm busted. More accurately, I should have said that I've never heard anyone in Texas refer to soft drinks in general as "coke", but if a generic term is ever used, it's "soda" and not "pop" or "coke".

That's going to have to change, seeing that their new parent company will be expecting profitability from them. If not, heads will roll, I guarantee it. -
No, all I've ever heard around here is "soda". I used to hear "coke" all the time in southern Virginia though.
