people should be allowed to grow their own weed at home for personal use. no one needs to make money off of people smoking marijuana -not the government, not dealers, nobody except maybe for people who sell gardening and hydroponic equipment. nobody needs to go to jail for smoking it. no one should get any kind of government assistance if they choose to spend their lives doing nothing more than getting wasted every day. and if taking any kind of drugs or alcohol makes you more creative as an artist, then you have absolutely no imagination and probably shouldn't even be an artist.

there apparently is a limit to PC in Florida

the flying spaghetti monster is a mockery of belief in any deity, so I would consider a Christmas display in which it was featured to be quite spiteful. on the other hand, the phrase touched by his noodly appendage sounds particularly disturbing considering the creature has meatballs. -

to be honest, the atheists' display is just as offensive to me as the satanists' display. I just thought it interesting that they're willing to allow one type of spiteful display and not another. that seems completely contradictory to me. how can one be 'grossly offensive' and not the other? -
their problem is in how they decided to name the product. they should have just added 'Mc' to the word 'wing'. if they can sell a slab of processed pork in low-grade barbecue sauce by calling it 'McRib', then a 'McWing' should have been an easy home-run.

no wonder they smile so much.

we can include festivus and atheists, but this is where they draw the line: http://www.tallahassee.com/article/20131218/POLITICSPOLICY/131218008/Satanic-Temple-holiday-display-denied-grossly-offensive-

"My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” that's 'spewing hate'? I'm beginning to think that Tom may be right about you.

no offense, but I want to scream every time someone follows 'legalize it' up with 'and tax it'. we really need to get away from the concept of finding new 'revenue streams' for these blood-sucking parasites. the feds raked in approximately two trillion, eight hundred billion dollars in 2012. that is more than enough. way more, imo. in fact, it was by way of taxation that marijuana was made illegal in the first place. the feds required that anyone selling marijuana acquire a stamp to affix to the bale, the cost of that stamp being the tax. then they simply never made any of the stamps, so no one could sell it. I believe the Nixon administration were responsible for classifying it as a controlled substance.

I see you are making the same mistake I am in expecting any kind of cognition out of this human tree stump. -
I was thinking more like a quick youtube search to see if they had a video showing how to deploy the inflatable slide. you may as well have a little fun in a situation like that.

I suppose this is what I get for actually trying to have a discussion with you. you can take your idiocy, stuff it into your tesla, and drive it straight up your own backside. -
Someone caught me doing a practice run

his reindeer can do that too. while pulling the sleigh. it's a pretty impressive sight to behold. -

you've certainly watched the right ones for the sake of this conversation. for my money, SP is the best show on television. I'm sure that says a lot about me.... -

a fine line between a swat on the backside and a beating? the distinction seems pretty clear to me. one uses humiliation, the other pain and the potential for physical injury. I don't see how the two can even be compared, let alone confused. -

do you actually consider corporal punishment to be akin to beating a child, or are you just in character again? -

I've been, but it's been a while since I was there to soak it all in, mainly because I'm sick of a lot of the music and I've grown to loathe crowds. we played two shows last year, but we learned our lesson and sat this past SXSW out. I can see how it would be fun to come here, get a nice hotel down town(which you have to reserve waaaaay in advance), and check it all out that way, but I generally avoid it due to the crowds and the down town road closures (entire blocks are roped off to allow for pedestrian traffic). there are some seriously good musicians in town normally, and SXSW brings a lot more of them in from all over the world. some are awesome, but a lot are really, really bad. ultimately it's not a good showcase for local acts, but you can still catch some really good shows here. if you're ever considering making the trip I'd be glad to make suggestions of where is good to go, where you want to avoid, and where the good restaurants are. the local entertainment/political newspaper, the Austin Chronicle, always has a yearly list of all official SXSW acts: http://www.austinchronicle.com/

not all UT grads are liberals, obviously. I think any liberal bent on the part of most of the students is more a symptom of youth and idealism, like it was with me. the urban sprawl isn't nearly as bad as it is in other places I've visited, but there's no excuse for the congestion on the highways. Austin wants to become a big city (and they're getting their wish....the place is growing like gangbusters) but they didn't want to build the highways when they had a chance to do it without too much disruption and displacement. IH35 is a nightmare. you either don't move at all or it's bumper to bumper at 70mph. on the other hand, if you like music, this is a great place to be. you can find nearly any genre here that you can think of, and there's clubs of all sizes that have music all week long. in fact, I'm involved in it too. I'm in a mildly popular metal band that plays once or twice a month. this saturday will be our last show until early spring. Austin is a great place to live, despite being pretty much the most expensive place in Texas, provided you can live without snow every winter, and can handle 108 degrees in summer long enough to run from air-conditioning to air-conditioning.
