  1. Love these mature posts. Overall, I agree with your point. Fans who think they know more than Nix and Gailey are being ridiculous. I do feel with Nix/Whaley our front office is greatly improved. And I do feel Gailey is better than Jauron. I know it will take more than 1 season to right this ship. But what worries me most, is modrak. Our biggest problem on this team is drafting players like hardy, maybin, whitner, kelsey, losman, etc. Those players cost us high draft picks and did not return the value. I personally think that mostly falls on modrak, and I would have liked a replacement for him from a decent franchise. Him still being here worries me that we might screw up another rebuilding project. And even though I like Nix and Gailey, and I think they are an improvement, I have my doubts about them. I just hope somthing happens this offseason. I am not saying I want a big splash this offseason that makes headlines, I just want an offseason that cleans up this roster more than the last offseason.
  2. saying he was a "sham" and a "failure" in dallas is stretching it a lot. Yeah, a lot of coaches got more out of those players than he did, but chan had them after their prime. The truth is, Chan isn't a great coach. But he had a better record coming into buffalo than jauron did. And Cowher himself endores chan over and over. As an HC in the nfl, chan actually had a winning record. That doesn't reek of failure. It reeks of medicrocy at worst. I really don't mind chan as an HC. I just wish he was able to attract better assistants.
  3. That is only if ralph last another 10 years... which I highly doubt it. Once we get a new owner (and hopefully keeps the team in buffalo) I believe this team will look better instantly. I have been seeing it a lot on many sports teams. A new owner changes everything, no matter what sport. The bucs are terrible, then they get a new owner and in a few years they win a superbowl. The tampa rays, bottom dwellers, get a new owner, end up in the world series. Just gotta hope the new owner wants to win and keeps the team in buffalo.
  4. This is a lot harder when you can't add the kickers. good call on your list
  5. QB play absolutly has hurt Evans a lot. But today, it was def more evans fault than fitz. And the rest of it was he was pretty well covered. I was surprised to see Evans kinda (but not very hard) fight for the ball once. Evans is a VERY good #2 WR and our best WR. all those People who want to cut him are being unreasonable. Cut donald and replace him with a true #1 WR... then you get some real production. You don't fix a unit by replacing the best player in it, you replace the weakest player. There is so much dead weight on this team holding it down... instead of cutting the weakest players, everyone wants to cut the good players just because they are underperforming. Replace the weakest players. Replacing the weakest players will give you the biggest improvement.
  6. Cards lost more than Warner. They lost Dansby and Boldin as well. They basically lost 3 great players in one year.
  7. cutler got sacked like 10-12 times... I guess our oline isn't the only bad one.... too bad oline isn't our only worry.
  8. Well..... Tony Romo: 2003 UFA Kyle Orton 2005 4th round There will always be matt hasslebecks and Mark Warners around.... Though I do agree we should draft a QB in the 1st round because we will have better luck. But I also don't want to ignore the later QBs that have potential as well. Until we have a bonifide starter at QB, we should draft a QB in every draft I think.
  9. To be fair, that was an upgrade over what we did have. But that isn't saying much. This organization needed a lot more than the Nix/Whaley combo... needed modrak out and probably some scouts. And I still don't mind the Gailey hiring... I just wish some of the assistant coaches were more impressive. They are the real disappointment.
  10. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. There is really is no answer from a fan perspective. The team will suck whether the stadium is packed or not. All you people that think if no one is in the stadium and the game is blacked out will suddenly make the team good are being ridiclous. Even if no one in buffalo sees the game, the bills will STILL suck. I don't know what logic you guys are using where if you don't show up to the game, it will make the team better. It doesn't matter either way, with the exception being the 12th man on the field, which in minor unless it is 3rd down. But yeah, just because you close your eyes and you don't see them suck, they still suck. And just because there are no fans in the stadium, that does not mean Raplh, chan, and nix are going to say "uh-oh! fans are mad! We better actually play well this week!" give me a break.
  11. Someone has to be. We already sacrificed Trent. Modrak will hopefully be next.
  12. Yeah, last time Ralph spent a ton of money we got Dockery and Walker.... spending isn't the issue. The issue is and has been the organization from top to bottom. Not attending games isn't going to suddently make ralph smarter or make chan gailey suddenly create the best offense in the world. You people that think an empty stadium would fix this team are just crazy. It really doesn't matter either way.
  13. Most of the players they are talking about are 1st round picks (inlcuding spiller)... with a handful of mid picks. These two look like rookies. Can't hate the guys for that. Just hope they actually improve. It isn't like we don't have any good rookies.... we got Nelson and Spiller who have both contributed plenty. Unfortunatly, the team is just bad.
  14. agreed. much better than justintv and the other ones.
  15. I like Poz and Davis, but we really need an upgrade at LB, especially on the outside. And we need a DE to replace stroud, who hasn't done enough. Hopefully carrington can develop into something special. I still like our secodary and I like Williams/edwards a lot.... but our ILB are average and our OLB are just terrible. I wouldn't mind keeping someone like Coleman as a project, but there needs to be some REAL players there.
  16. ouch. Hope it isn't season ending.
  17. Because he went on IR in his first season and hasn't since then?
  18. Unless we can rush him, I say we won't get as many interceptions on him as we did last year. But I am sure we keep him in check on the big play. It is keller we have to watch out for.... keller might just embarress our LBs even more, if that's possible.
  19. Some stuff with him being interviewed when he was hired: http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Bills-Roundup-New-Coordinators-Introduced/ba0adbfb-88d7-466c-a163-0fbd6d9f9f5d
  20. The only time I saw him speak was when he was first hired I think... but coordinators don't usually speak at interviews in general... no rule against it though.
  21. I would def take one of the top QBs from this draft over what we have already. And we better, because we really need a QB of the future that has "it." Howhever, I don't think any of these QBs will be taken 1st overall... and I don't think we are going to even need a top 3 pick to get the "best" one.
  22. I don't think it is as much the money as much as what it means. It is almost like a vote of confidence that they are going to keep him there as a starter... though that is VERY tentative. Like the jauron deal, it didn't keep jauron here. But it still seems like a vote of confidence at probably the weakest unit on the defensive side of the ball. There is so much of this team that still isn't working yet, and it is pretty damn hard to take the growing pains by this new front office with so much failure from the previous ones. I am really hoping they have an offseason that really takes stride this coming season. But I agree with you, anyone that is upset that the bills are spending money is insane. That isn't exactly money that can do any better than getting a stop gap player... and it isn't coming out of the fans pockets. I say the bills should keep practicing spending money... and hopefully start actually paying bigger bucks for real players.
  23. Best is also very injury prone. I will be surprised if he finishes the season. Once Spiller gets more touches, the guy is going to be great. Even better when he get a real QB in there. I know we didn't need another RB, but spiller also fills in at Reciever... and we did need a reciever. This guy is a game changer. And from the looks of it, he seems like he will be loyal to the team as well and not jump ship.
