  1. NFLdraftcountdown is a pretty interesting site. This guy seems to know his stuff more than the rest when grading players. He had us taking Von Miller before everyone else had him in their top ten.
  2. I think if they grab a QB, they are going to grab one in rounds 2 or 3.
  3. I personally trust Gaily more than nix, despite the whole making edwards a starter. But in gaily's defense, Edwards always one of those sneaky QBs. Looked good in practice, looked bad in games.
  4. It is one thing to disagree with a thread. It is another to bring up things that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. This topic has just about as much to do about the lockout as it does with the draft, which is like, nothing. You are hating on players for greed, when none of the players that are being talked about right now have made any statements that reaked of greediness. In fact, most of them are making league minimum, which is still a nice sum of money, but they aren't "millionaires" like you suggest. And where do you get this thing where "they don't show up to work." Work? even if there wasn't a lockout, there are no minicamps, practices, or real meetings of any kind this time of year, at all. So even without a lockout, they would still be in their own homes away from buffalo. So this whole thing you are arguing over is just ridiculous. They don't have to workout right now, lockout or no lockout. This time last year, there were no offical team workouts just like this year. Really, it is like this is the first offseason for some of you.
  5. Not discounting his potential... but picking a one year wonder at 3rd overall seems a little too risky. With the bad luck we have with our first rounders, I would like to take a player that is at least a little more of a safer pick. haha. oh my.
  6. I can't see jordan lasting through pick 11. He is too solid of a player.
  7. Don't be such a buzzkill. No one is saying it is good to see a lockout, people's greed fighting over money, or seeing big business exploit the masses. People are saying that it is good to see players on the bills working together in the offseason. It is good to see team work, unity, and to see a little effort that could translate well when the season starts. This thread isn't about the mess with the lockout. There are other threads for that. You are some bills PHAN for coming in here and hating on these players who haven't don't anything to you. If you hate them so much, then you probably should just change teams, or change sports since it seems like you hate football all together. It isn't like Fitz, steve johnosn, and all our guys are the ones that are even doing any negotiating. They are just following the lead of their "nonunion." What do you want them to do? Divide the players? That will just make things worse. If the players are divided and can't decide what they want, then they cant even negotiate. Yeah, lets hate on Fitz and these guys because they are working out together during a lockout
  8. Almost no one here is going to agree with me, but I think Locker would be really great for us if he fell to us in round 2 and we grabbed him there. He seems to have everything a franchise QB needs..... except that accuracy is pretty damn scary. He looked better in his junior year, so you could argue the talent around him fell apart his senior year with people leaving and such. Also, his accuracy was much better outside the pocket, which means with a better line, he probably would have had better accuracy inside the pocket. Now, our line isn't that good..... but we can improve it. I still think he has a lot of upside, but there are too many ifs and maybes to really give him a first round status. But I think using a second rounder on him wouldn't be the worst thing to do. Though with all the defensive talent, using our top two picks on defensive still seems to be the best and safest choice.
  9. Just because the players want binding mediation, doesn't mean this is binding mediation. There is no credible news outlet in the world that has said that the mediation that starts on thursday is going to be binding or not.
  10. Of course, it takes someone from Buffalo to push things forward. This is getting ridiculous. I hope this doesn't go all the way through august, or even into the season. It shouldn't be THAT hard to work out a deal. The biggest enemy is that the two sides really don't trust eachother, at all.
  11. still would prefer jordan or miller, by a lot. I wanted get pissed if they drafted a QB at 3, but I might say a prayer or two and hope that it is the right move. But I think jordan and miller can each really bring a lot to the team, and fairly quickly.
  12. really wish dareus would fall to us, but I don't see it happening. I am actually more interested in who we draft in round 2. And if we somehow trade down, damn that would be just amazing. I don't mind the miller pick, and it looks like that will be the pick. I just hope we do well with our other picks. It is a shame we are picking at the top in a year where the best player is a DB.
  13. Patrick willis is too small to be a LB in the nfl. GaWd!
  14. Talent wise, he doesn't seem like a top 5 pick. He wouldn't be a bad pick, but he would definently be a reach at 3. He would help us against the run, but he would do nothing for us as a pass rusher. So it depends on what you want more.... pass rush or stop the run... but hating on Miller just because he needs to bulk up, which is one of the few things that can actually be fixed, is ridiculous. the whole "miller is a reach because he has to bulk up" in nonesense. Are you saying Clay mathews was a reach by green bay because he had to bulk up? That is just nonesense. Complete nonesense. I like jordan, and would love him as the pick. But calling a player a reach because he has to "bulk up" makes no sense. There are some things you can teach a player, like football insincts, speed, reaction time, etc. Miller has all that stuff you can't teach a player. And you want to rag on him because he needs to bulk up, something a lot of these prospects have to do? Yeah, size does matter in the nfl, like you said. But if you are drafting a player because he already is big over a player who is more talented, that is ridiculous. Take the talented player and bulk him up. Don't take an already bulky player with less talent and think you can make him more talented. I am not saying jordan is less or more talented (though miller does seem to have more rare abilites), but you are really hating on miller for something that is SO easy to fix.
  15. I wouldn't count Merriman and Batten as anything more than camp fodder until they can prove to be healthy. And that is IF we have a training camp.
  16. Comparing him to maybin is ridiculous, because they are very very different. Sure, they are both small guys that had great speed. But they are very different football players. Maybin was a one year wonder that hardly played any football. Miller has played all 4 years, and wasn't just a one year wonder. Bulking up might make him a bit of a reach, but it is small potatoes compared to all the other top players with issues. Bowers knee injury? Now there is a Gamble. Quinn not even playing last year? Man, now there is a red flag. Fairly not having good work ethic? Sounds like a mike williams situation. Almost all the top players have an issue. Who woulda thunk there wouldn't be all perfect players? well, there is a perfect player if you want to draft patrick peterson, but let's not open THAT can of worms now. Sure, dareus would be a pretty swell choice, and I prefer him to miller, but will he even be there when we pick? I doubt it, even with the 3rd overall choice. In the end, if the only thing wrong with the kid is that he has to "bulk up" and improve against the run, then there really isn't that much risk in him compared to the others. Maybin was a huge risk/project being a one year wonder who hardly played football. This guy is different. Not saying he is a future superstar, but he looks like he would be a worth using a top 5 pick on him. And really, it is not hard for him to get to a clay mathews size. If you want a player with nothing wrong, take peterson...... but see how much that helps this team.
  17. no, but being a judge, she does get to decide the ruling of this case. She is NOT a successful lawyer. She WAS, but now she is a judge. The two are very different. You might not think it (for some reason) that these cases are going to impact the fate of the nfl season, but they will. The two sides aren't doing anything until they see the rulings of the case(s) to decide their next move. how the cases turn out could decide how quickly, or slowly, things move forward.
  18. he doesn't seem to be anything special. But one year with no real playing time isn't much to go on. Either way, I am glad the bills took a QB last year, even a late rounder. They should take one QB every year until they have a superstar, even if it is a late rounder. You never know when you will land a great QB.
  19. I am not a buddy hater like a lot of people here, but I agree with what you are saying 100%.
  20. meh, better than nothing I guess..... but these lower picks aren't going to be very interesting if there is no training camp to evaluate the guys.
  21. Everyone about a year ago when they were talking about locker going number one if he came out last year. Then people said we would take locker at number next year. Crazy stuff.
  22. crazy to see that first overall pick being so low percentage wise. usually by now there is a much better idea who is going to go number one overall.
  23. So? If he breaks the law this offseason, he can totally get charged with a crime even if the NFL can't do anything about it.
