  1. Then it looks like the Jests wasted a bunch of picks on sanchez and the bills just wasted some cash on Fitz, who is better under pressure than sanchez. Bills are lookin smarter than the jests already!
  2. Try telling that to the Vikings owners, who were having some major trouble just paying the interest on the money they had to take out when they bought the team. Look at those dodgers who couldn't even make payroll. Owning a sports team is far from a guarentee cosidering how many teams end up failing, getting sold off, and moved to other cities. And I get the players wanting lots of money because they get banged up a lot, and their health is pretty much ruined for the rest of their life. But for the most part, they DO get paid a lot of money. Then they get all self rightous like they should get paid a ton just because of the injuries. Now, let's be honest. These guys don't get paid because of their injuries that ruin their lives. They get paid for their talent. There are millions of idiots that would gladly ruin their bodies for a million dollars and get famous for it. But there are few people with the talent they have. If people got paid based on the risk of injury, then military soldiers, law enforcement, and fire fighters would get paid 6 figures a year or more, but they don't. I just don't feel sorry for these players that cry injury while getting paid millions while there is a soldier overseas who just lost his leg while watching his best friend get killed, and he gets paid peanuts next to what the lowest paid nfl player gets. I don't feel for the players or the owners. When all is said and done, they will both be laughing to the bank.
  3. It doesn't look that bad when adding a #2 QB is your 2nd most need. I still say they should add at least one OLB. I am happy that they have high hopes for merriman, but that is a huge risk to put all your eggs in that basket. And that is cool that Kelsey is a great locker room guy and can contribute when the team plays 4-3.... but as an olb in the 3-4, he is just worthless. I think it is a little unsettleing that since before the draft, they acted like OLB was pretty much set. But if merriman actually contributes enough, then hell, maybe the position actually is set.
  4. Well, here's hoping for some good change. Not the most exciting hires. But definently good to get some fresh faces in the front office.
  5. Pretty much my feelings. I can't believe they are putting that much faith in the guy with all his health issues.... but even if he is just an average starter or a stop gap player, it is a wonderful move.
  6. I never said I took it as an insult, so I don't know what you are getting at. I was just telling it as it is. The national media doesn't care about the bills. Really, the only time in recent years they actually did was when they signed TO. Do you disagree with that or something? The only thing I was calling BS on what you said was your reasoning as to why the media was focusing on Drew Brees. It isn't because he is a superbowl MVP or because he dropped $20,000, or because his name is on a lawsuit. The reason his camp was reported was because he is the starting QB of a team in a much larger market. Hence, Drew brees, Mark Sanchez, AND tony romo getting there camps reported. Belonging to a bigger market team is the only thing they have in common that fitz doesn't. Not hating on the media or taking it as an insult. Just saying, that is why their camps are getting reported and not Fitz's.
  7. Romo and Sanchez keep getting the same amount of press on their camps. Must mean they are superbowl MVPs too The reason why the bills camp doesn't get national attention is, the national media just doesn't give a damn about the bills. Even a losing team like the 49ers gets more press than us with Luck teaching Kapernick. Any whispers related to the bills won't hit the national media, unless we re-sign TO.
  8. Yet the yankees greatly outspend the pirates every year. There is no gap THAT big in the nfl.
  9. Yup. Back to business as usual next season. Best of the worst
  10. If it does the "same thing" like you say, then why do you think it is such a big deal? I would think that Dareus has a way higher chance of success than anyone you can find in the 2nd round, and probably in the bottom of the 1st. The steelers have had far more success than the Pats* in the draft. The pats* trade down and the steelers stay put. Unless you think the pats* draft better than the steelers, in which case, no. Too bad they didn't take them last year instead. And funny thing, Pats* took a CB with their first 2nd rounder.... just like us. We are doing the same thing that a winning organization does. Does that make us winners?
  11. Key word being "sometimes." More often than not, the higher draft picks have a higher success rate. If the lower picks had more success than the higher picks, then people would be fighting left and right to get those later picks.
  12. I prefer them to stay put unless some sort unbelievable deal fell in their laps. It seems like there are two big ways to work the draft: Trade down and stock pile picks vs stay where you are and draft the best player that falls to you. The pats* obviously stock pile picks. But I think that there track record is sloppy and if it weren't for their FA deals, their team would be much much weaker. The steelers tend to stay where they are and let players just fall to them. They seem to be much better at finding talent in the draft than the Pats* do. Actually, they seem to do a lot better than the pats* in the draft. So as far as drafting goes, I would much rather copy the steelers than copy the Pats*
  13. I know it is, but I used google . A player I know little about and have never seen play.
  14. Shephard is one who I really hope works out. I love his on the field enthusiam. Could really push this team harder.
  15. I won't pencil merriman in there until the guy sees the field. I wouldn't bank on him at all, and if the bills think OLB is safe just because of merriman, then they are taking a pretty stupid risk. And moats probably won't start, and will only be brought in on obvious passing situations. That is kelseys starting job, unfortunatly. And lord knows if maybin will still be on the roster. They were saying OLB was in better shape than ILB, but I think they both sucked. Just because we have kelsey and merriman at OLB, it doesn't make it better than poz and davis and ILB. And I like jasper a lot, but no way he starts this year. Hell, he probably won't even play this year. But I do like him a lot as a prospect.
  16. There is no trade down scenario that would have given us Ryan Kerrigan, Cameron Jordan, Lance Kendricks, and the other players he wanted (dareus). Don't be silly.
  17. I would never complain about my job on a public site. Even if my boss gave me the worst day ever. Complaining about my employer for all the world to see would only make things worse. If you are the type to B word about your employer all over twitter, then god help you if you have a bad day, because you will probably get the pink slip.
  18. How do you get compensation for a guy who is not under contract?
  19. An average LT in round 7 is still pretty good. And a 7th round WR having a 10 TD season looks pretty damn good too. If our 7th round is just as good this year, we might actually have a team soon.
  20. It will bother me a little bit if Newton totally sucks. If he actually turns into a franchise QB, then that would certainly make me feel better about this front office. Although I liked newtons upside, I thought there was too much risk in taking him with our 1st pick.
  21. agreed. people got so mad when we passed on clausen in the 2nd round last year.... and look how that turned out for carolina. If we took clausen, we would probably have taken newton this year.
  22. Well, if players were picked based on what the fans wanted, teams would be pretty bad. We might make it a little better on first rounders, but we probably wouldn't have drafted players like stevie johnson, kyle williams, or arthur moats. Just because fans don't like it doesn't mean it won't work out. There is nothing wrong with a rotational guy as long as he contributes enough. Most of the Dline is rotational on most teams anyway. Or stop a Runningback. and we can't do either
  23. I would gladly take Dareus or miller, but would definently prefer Dareus.
  24. You are wrong. Miller's talents make him a pass rushing threat. A 4-3 OLB is not big in rushing the passer as much as a 3-4 OLB is. He is much better suited for a 3-4 OLB. Maybe if he could help in run support, then maybe 4-3, but he can't stop the run to save his life. The guy is a true 3-4 OLB.
