If they got something worked out, like they will send him the private jet and bring to to buffalo tomorrow evening, then that would be great. He could actually sign, which would be better than the verbal agreement. I think he would be easier to agree in person as well.

That was never my fear. My fear is always that the bills won't be aggressive enough, and right now, my fear of that is lessoning. for now.

Agreed on all points. I don't think the bills would have a problem giving him 7 a year. My worry is the guarentteed part, which seems to be most important to the players, and where we are a little stingy on. But whatever we are offering, it must be worth it. It seems it is just us and the falcons targeting him. If he didn't like what we were offering, he probably would have agreed with the falcons by now. It's true. And it will be easier to keep players when we start winning as well. But I say our luck is going to change. If the pirates can have a good recent season, the bills can have one too!

If we do sign him, I know we are going to overpay him. But I would like the signing so much. Would really help that oline and the offense out a lot .

I think they will offer a lot more money, the problem is, the guarenteed amount will probably be low, since that would fit our MO. We have to spend the cap money, but the guarenteed signing bonus money is a different story. It is interesting that they are still talking. there might even be a bidding war there.

I think it is a good sign that there are rumors the bills are talking to free agents like clabo and barret, and less on the rookies. Looks like they are actually going to be making some improvements. Might not be a big splash, but improvements nonetheless. And i think that Poz bailing got them a little scared, and he was a big chunk of what they were planning on spending.

If you don't understand how saying factual information is wrong is a bad joke, then you will never hear anything more than crickets. And if you think you fix one of the worst defenses by losing one of your better players, than that is terrible logic. IF your defense sucks, you rid of your worst players, not the best ones. If you rid your best players, you get even worse. But ya know, you don't follow simple logic. it is sad.

Davis would be the starter for sure. Sheppard won't take over unless davis or Burnett gets injured. That is, if we sign burnett. Davis is a good player. He just isn't a playmaker and he got injured last year. But he is a legit starter and isn't a scrub like we have at quite a few of our positions.

Kyle Williams isn't a true NT, but the guy plays the position great, even if it isn't the normal way and he isn't as big. The biggest problem with the defense last year was Stroud at DE, and pretty much all the LBs. Poz was pretty good, but the guy wasn't a playmaker. He looked better than he did because all the other LBs sucked so bad. Moats showed he is pretty cool as a pass rusher, but hasn't proved much as the run goes. With that said, losing poz sucks, because he was our best LB on the team. We have to either hope that Shepard is fast learner or hope they find someone decent to replace him.

You don't have to make a "splash" in free agency to grab good starters. Just because they aren't going after Asomugha or santonio holmes doesn't mean they aren't going to improve the team.

really only the top 25-30 are the high level ones. After that, the rest are pretty affordable. fwiw, florence is 65. I would think any player on that list below 30 is game for the bills, as far as spending goes (though I don't agree with the list where some players are). I would personally like them to sign harper, to replace whitner. The guy is pretty solid. He is like whitner, but he doesn't B word on twitter and he is going to cost less.

He is just saying that harrison has former team mates that have already signed with the saints and steelers. players from all teams are signing with all nfl teams. it isn't anything breaking. Thought we would have signed more than one player by now though. edit actually, we signed 2. yay.....
