  1. The next home game isn't for another 3+ weeks. I think they have time to sell out a couple games.
  2. He was saying a lot of nice things in pregame. During the game, he was just saying what was happening... and what was happening was the bills were sucking bad. The only saving thing was Stevie looked pretty damn good against Revis. I would almost say Stevie won that matchup. the rest of the team was bleh. Defense played similar to what it has done before, and the offense was just confused completly.
  3. He is probably the best 4-3 de we have, which isn't saying much. carrington shows some flashes.... but whether we play 3-4 or 4-3, we need to upgrade the outside, even if it is just depth for 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB
  4. even though lee is better than what we have, I don't think he could have saved us today. For starters, he hasn't done that much this season and has been fighting an injury. second, the guy was turning into more of a decoy that an actual threat. He just wasn't aggressive enough to fight for the ball. we need someone who puts in more effort and will fight for the ball, and with talent. I had a lot of doubts about jones being a downfield threat, and I have doubts that easley will ever see the field... it is an area we need to improve on, and I don't think lee evans would have solved anything.
  5. I think it is obvious this team needs a lot of work, but the problems aren't the way you are saying. Today's problem was more the offense than the defense. The defense pretty much gave up and played really sloppy after the offense kept screwing up. I think the biggest thing that lost the game for us was coaching. We were really outcoached, and the offense had no answer. The other thing is, we really need to get one of our LTs back and levitre healthy. FJ probably would have ran a lot better with wood/levritre in the middle. Overal, the team needs to get better. But I think it is more of a 9-7 team than it is an 8-8 team. either way, the team is heading in the right direction. it just needs to keep improving.
  6. ill take upshaw. we need a more reliable deep threat at WR to stretch the field. not an evans type that works asa decoy, but someone that is actually a weapon. and we need help at OLB/DE. And of course we need a CB. and on top of all that, we need the rest of our players to get healthy (k williams, a williams, bellm harriston). And I like donald jones and all, but I think they are asking too much from him right now. He hasn't developed yet. He might later on, but he isn't ready to take on the type of role they are asking of him
  7. ALthough the officiating has been bad for the bills this year overall, I thought they were pretty generous to the bills in the pats* game. I don't think that it is a bills thing, I think the officials have been sloppy in a lot of different games.
  8. it is so annoying how they spell defense as "defence." After reading like 3 articles this week from toronto, I guess it just goes along with the "favourite" type nonesense. silly candadians.
  9. It isn't supposed to effect the game or the team, it is just entertaining conversation for us here......
  10. I think this can be said about his whole first draft. None of those players look like they will ever have more than a part time role. carrington/moats show the most promise, but only as pass rushers and not every down players. spiller is..... well, spiller. troup shows nothing and has been injured.... easely can't stay on the field.... wang, and that other ot are gone. because of that draft, this team really needs to get 4 good starters out of the last draft. dareus looks good. but will shepard, williams, harriston, or others step up in the future? I hope so. because the first draft class has given us little so far.
  11. Then there is pat, who has only ever played in a 4-3, so that would kill like 30% of the playbook right there, unless you want to experiment with him at NT. It is a lot easier to teach a young dog new tricks than it is for an old one. If pat was the type of player that could be plugged into our system, then great. but he is old, hasn't played all that great with his most recent work, probably not in football shape, and.... is suspended. Then there is heard, who is a rookie with upside that has a lot to learn, but already knows the defense and has taken reps with the team.
  12. That is probably the reason I still like nix, even though his first draft didn't go as well as I would have liked. The gailey hiring was very questionable when is happened, and it has proved the critics wrong. hiring a good coach was probably more important than anything to start with anyways.
  13. at this point in their careers, heard is better than pat. Especially when you throw in the suspension that has been talked about for years now....
  14. it isn't like merriman was doing much when he was on the field. And we kinda did get healthier. we swapped an injured merriman for a well rested, injury free Coleman.
  15. this has been the thing with nix. So far, the only thing he seems to have done right, is the Gailey hiring, which so far looks ok, but there is still a lot to prove on that one. Nix's first draft looks horrible right now, and although his 2nd looks WAY more promising, we haven't seen enough. And the other thing about Nix's 2nd draft, gailey obviously had more say in it with senior bowl players getting picked. So if this 2nd draft works out, it might be more credited to gailey than nix, to a degree. The only FA signings he has done that I like are barnett, edwards, and davis (the guy sucks in coverage, but he was an upgrade and at least not a scrub). Though he did find a lot of nice cast offs to plug in holes.
  16. chances are he will never log back in to see it anyway.
  17. I am leaning more towards troup than williams. but that might be just wishful thinking.
  18. I think it is a little bit of both, but I think it leans more toward the players. We have been bad against the rush for years now and We didn't really have much of a player turnover from last year. We got barnett and dareus as the only 2 that have started each game. They are gonna have to upgrade some more players for this defense to be serviceable. The ones on the outside being the biggest a liability. Whether it is the 4-3 DEs or the 3-4 OLBs, those positions need to be addressed bad. Kind of makes you wonder how this team would have looked if they went another way with that maybin pick. Those players on the outside have been bad for awhile, and it isn't like they ingored it either. they just have done a good job at filling it. And by "they" I mean the franchise in general, not specifically gailey/nix. I think it would be best for us all for the stache to take over completly.
  19. eric wood would be up there imo. but dareus is the best in recent memory for 1st rounders go with rookie seasons.
  20. kyle should be back since there was a small chance he could have played in the last game.
  21. I would gladly take loyde for a reasonable price. My only problem is that is contract is up after this season... so if we want to keep him longterm, we would have re-sign the guy. And that wont be easy since we have (or should) work out contracts for stevie and fitz, and rework jackson's contract. COmplete 4 major contracts in one offseason doesn't seem like something the bills front office could really handle. I guess it is great that williams has his worked out, but there is a lot to be done to secure this team's nucleus and continue building on that.
  22. The offensive line, even the depth, is looking pretty good. sucks harriston got hurt, but hopefully he or bell can play the next game. but harriston looks like he will have a roster spot here for a long time.
  23. For every game this season I watch at a bar, the bills won. For the cincy game I listened on the radio at home, and for the giants game I watched it at home. I guess I have to be at the bar for the skins game.
  24. Mckelvin was barely in there, and when he was, he didn't do anything that bad. The defense as a whole has played how it has all year, minus the turnovers. The defense needs some type of spark to make it work. sheppard should probably be starting unless we are playing a team that is heavy on the run. I like florence, but he didn't do much to show that he deserved to start over mckelvin today. it sucks that mckelvin can be consistant. if he was, he would be a decent starter. maybe this lit a fire in him not starting. and we need Kyle back bad. this offseason though, we need to upgrade the OLB position. Aside from occasional plays by moats and sometimes kesley, those guys aren't doing anything for us. And man do we need a deep threat on offense. evans probably wouldn't have been that helpful for us this year, but jones/easley being out is killing us. gotta find a deep threat this offseason that can stay on the field. other than that, this team is a hell of a lot better to watch than previous years. they got a lot of work to do, but they seem to be heading in the right direction.
