  1. That is only if you look at the big name guys in fa. If you look at the rest of fa, the bills don't do that bad grabbing developmental players that actually make a big difference like chandler, pears, Fitz, freddy, and others. I mean, I would take those guys over the big name players we grabbed in the past that bombed.
  2. Yeah, losman helping people in buffalo really helped his nfl career. His agent knew just what to do, help some people, and your nfl career will never fail!
  3. Terrible thread title. Good for avp though. Having multiple franchises looking at him he will be in the league awhile. But even if avp was the worst qb coach of all time, that still wouldn't equal an nfl gm throwing in the towel. Throwing in the towel would be like quitting, firing people he just hired, cutting franchise players for no reason. But interviewing avp for qb coach? C'mon
  4. Sounds like he is expecting to be a bill next year the way he is talking about being a vet next year compared to the other bills recievers. I think this is a good sign, tho I am Erik worried about losing him.
  5. If we drafted green instead people would complain that we ignored the trenches and the front office picked green as a luxury pick. I think in hindsight, either one would still make me happy.
  6. I agree with all this, even the part about williams. He was servicable in the 3-4, but he doesn't belong there. This defense is going to be a mess again this season, at least in the begining. I expect by mid season all the players that are strictly 3-4 will be cut or barely playing.
  7. Him playing mlb in a 4-3 is actually an interesting idea. Not sure how much I like it, but it is something that is better than a lot of the repeated stuff on him. Kind of wonder about him as olb in the 4-3 too. Again, um not saying I like it, but it is something to think about for sure.
  8. I would take Mercilus and Perry over upshaw as well. I doubt they will still be there though. I even have reservations about upshaw being available with our pick. I know a lot of people are thinking otherwise, but it is so hard to tell this early. Last year we thought dareus was a lock at pick number 2 until like an hour before the draft. I think at this point, we won't know much where upshaw will be taken until we sources start squeeling to reporters how their team's big board is set up. even then, it wont be certain. agreed. I like upshaw. there is reason for concern that he won't live up to the top ten spot, but I think he is a safe enough pick to where he would be a difference maker on this team and be the pass rusher we need.
  9. that is his 40 time. in pads, he doesn't seem to be very fast on the field. He is very talented, but his speed looks average in pads compared to other players. I think upshaw will be a great player in the nfl, and I don't think he would be too much of a reach if we drafted him. I think he is a fairly safe pick, and would be great for us.
  10. if Soliai goes to a team outside our division, then that alone would be amazing. He is a stud. if we plan on doing a hybrid still, he would be pretty great to have him at NT, williams and dareus at DE in the 3-4.... then maybe in the 4-3, have williams and Soliai at NT and dareus at DE? I don't know. I don't think Soliai would really fit on this defense. It is a nice idea to have him, because the guy is a stud. But if he leaves the the phins, that would be wonderful. the worst thing that will happen is that he will cost so much they won't be able to add any other players through FA, or at least be limited.
  11. That is not what happens in the war room.... read the book "the GM" by Tom Callahan. The scouts don't just "hand over notes and tape" and that is it. The team's big board isn't made by just two people. in the war room, when they are deciding who to pick, it isn't something decided by one or two people. There are several people in the room helping with who to pick. In the book, Accorsi says the 1st pick in one where he would have the most say, and after that, he would listen more to the rest of the staff. I am not saying that Nix should get any credit, good or bad specifically in SD, but to say all he did as assistant gm was "pass along notes and game tape" is a very naive comment. Except with his first draft with the bills when he drafted a bunch of small school prospects. those were headscratchers from the begining.
  12. trading jackson is worse than the guy that wanted to trade spiller last offseason for like a 4th rounder. I really don't know where people get these ideas. I don't think we really have any players left that are tradeable. I think evans was that last one that we had that had any value that we didn't need. All the other players we have that have value are players that we need to keep. we need to add talent, not get rid of it.
  13. The offense was fine until Jackson and wood went down. As soon as that happened, the play calling became suspect. But before that, the play calling and game plans were good, for the offense. Defense is another story, and it has more than one problem
  14. Best way to see improvement at the cb position is to get a pass rush. The only cb that would look good with our pass rush is revis, and he ain't available
  15. This class doesn't seem as deep as last year. I never liked the trading down or up idea. Just stay where you are and take who falls to ya.
  16. Yeah, I always have liked thoner. He is definently one of the better posters here. Kind of wish this happened to some other poster that actually trolls to get a rise out of people.
  17. lots of people smoke weed, but very few get busted for it. You would actually have to be stupid enough to buy it from a cop or openly confess in order to get caught.
  18. I'm not gonna lie, even if I see it I still won't believe it.
  19. Teams overspend all the time on players. There very well could be a team that would.
  20. I liked whitner as a player. He was solid for us. But when he made a mistake, he really made a mistake. With that said, our defense would not be better with him. If there is any drop off with Wilson, it is very small. And.I think that searcy kid has potential. Donte was better than fans gave him credit for, but this is one of the few times we let a player walk while we had a just as good enough replacement on the roster already. So I think that the front office did a fine job with that part. Too bad they have let other players walk with no replacement plan over the years.
