  1. Would be a nice draft.
  2. let's be fair, it would be pretty awesome if we could ever do that. And can you imagine what it would be like for the colts if manning were 5 years younger, and his injury wasn't a concern? they could have almost doubled what the rams got plus got a few decent players in return for luck.
  3. That gm should be fired and buddy should totally take that trade. Especially if it is with the seahawks and we only drop a few spots
  4. I think those are all pretty close to accurate. Another little cog I think is gailey had a lot of input based on his senior bowl coaching. I'm hoping for a good draft, and there is good reason for optimism. But I would be lying if I said I was fully confident of a great draft
  5. I don't know if Nix will draft well. I personally still find his drafting suspect. I liked his draft from last year overall, but that first draft was atrocious. Not sure what to expect this time around, expecially with the new personell guys. Hoping it is more like last year or better, but I do have some fear of them totally screwing it up.
  6. Fred and stevie should be representing us, but I am thinking rodgers or eli should be on the cover. plus I like jackson too much to put the curse on him.
  7. Yes. And I like Williams, but there were missed opportunities that seemed obvious, even on draft day.
  8. Let's face it, our whole defense has trouble with tight ends.
  9. Crazy that people don't remember these moments. The only year o remember people/scouts/gms drooling over the top qb was the year Matt Ryan came out. Other than that, every year someone gets labled as a once in a lifetime qb.
  10. If they sign manning, they should move Tebow to tight end. That would be amazing. Tebow would hate it, but he would deal with it. I think that would work out well for them.
  11. If you are going to go all nuts trading up for a qb, then you go after luck. Now he is a rare prospect that is worth making this grab for. There will prospects next year like barkley that will be just as good a prospect if not better than RGIII. The jests didn't go nuts when they moved up for sanchez. With the new collective bargaining agreement, that won't be as easy. But in most years you can get just as good a prospect as RGIII without giving up everything. Luck is a different story. Trade 3 first rounders, Stevie, and Fitz for luck and I say we made out like bandits
  12. If you need that then this must be your first time following the draft. Mayock, kiper, mcshay, all the talking heads said Russell had the best arm they ever seen, nfl scouts raved at his pro days, scouts from all teams showed up to see him and were impressed. Ryan leaf.... Good god. HOW CAN YOU NOT REMEMBER THE HYPE! And I would love to link you to every scout/talking head that raved about every player I mentioned, but I am on the phone and it takes forever just to type a post on my phone. And I don't think it is worth it to spend 30 mins linking you to a dozen reports on all the players if you can't even remember the talk/hype surrounding leaf and Russell. No different than the hype around RGIII. Now the luck hype is a little unique compared to the others. But the RGIII stuff I heard before. If he fell to us, is take him. But I wouldn't give up the next 4-5 years for an unproven player
  13. Real deal? Like Brady Quinn , jamarcuss Russell, Ryan leaf, aliki smith, blaine gabbert, or the other countless qbs that were considered a sure thing by everyone? The chances of rgIII having a cam newton rookie season is terribly small. I wouldnt mind throwing a pick or two for him, but giving up the farm for a player that could very well be a bust? If he does turn out to be a bust, then you will have to wait like 4-5 years to draft another top tier prospect because you have no more 1st round picks. If the panthers traded up to the 1st round to get clausen they never would have gotten newton. I am all for getting a stud qb, but I don't want to be enslaved to bust with the only way to draft a replacement is by using a 2nd rounder. That will get you nowhere.
  14. Maybe in hindsight for the moment. But last time we traded our future for a qb we got stuck with losman and we missed out on getting rodgers the following year. There are good qb prospects every year. No reason to give up that much for one player that isn't a sure thing. And if we made that trade, it would have been a lot more. Probably another 1st or maybe 2 more 2nds at the very least. Whatever we would give up, it would have been a lot more than what the skins gave up.
  15. Yes, in recent years we used 1st round picks on dareus and wood who are great starters and 2nd round picks on byrd and levitre who are starters.
  16. If it was just 2 first rounders it would be one thing. But 3 first rounders plus more? Hell no. I would make that trade for Aaron rodgers or maybe drew brees, but not for a player who never took an nfl snap.
  17. I know! Buddy asleep at the wheel again!
  18. Wow. And ppl here thought 2 first rounders would get the job done. Yeah right. We would have had to give up 4 first rounders probably. Jesus
  19. keep in mind that the bills are going to extend freddie which will take up some cap space. not sure how much. I think after the fred jackson extension, they should be able to sign two good players that upgrade the team.
  20. I really thought we were closer to 60 wins. it has been a nasty 12 years.
  21. I have mixed feelings about Nix and Gailey, but overall, I like them better than the past regimes we have had. The good things about them, the offense is a threat to nfl defenses, finally. Even with the two best recievers being a 7th rounder and an undrafted guy, the offense was working for awhile. For the most part, the playcalling on the offense worked and it wasn't as predictable. Last year's draft has a lot of promise. Dareus looks like a great building block, Williams looks like he can be a starter, and Shep, for his 1st year at a tough position, got better each week, harriston looks like solid depth at worst if not a starter, and searcy looks like solid depth who could compete for a starting spot as well. And the barnett signing was just splendid and picking up pears and chandler turned out great. even if they aren't the above average players we need, they were solid contributers in positions that were upgraded with them in the lineup. And signing stevie, chandler, and morrison is just great. and extending williams and even extending fitz was great (even though there might be some worry about keeping fitz at times). Sure, stevie, fitz, and williams we recruited by other regimes. But look at the players the past regimes let walk that screwed up our team. Letting pat williams go to the vikes ruined our defensive line. Had we kept Greer maybe we would give us better depth, if not a better starter than what we have. in the past, stevie and chandler were the types of players the front office would let walk. The only time we seemed to extend anyone was when they were past their prime like evans and mcgee. re-signing the players in their prime is something more unique for this front office. The bad part about this regime is their first draft was just terrible. It is still a little early to tell on some of them, but they are showing little promise, if any. Spiller looks great and a solid player, but them drafting him makes it look like they didn't even look at the current roster before drafting him. they can play dumb and say "we didn't know what we had in fred jackson" but it isn't like that was fred's first good year... not to mention lynch was there. SPiller looks like a good talent, but the pick is still a headscratcher, and if they could get a do over on that pick, I know they would jump on it. Troup and Carrington, being small school guys were also headscratchers. I am not sure what they were thinking using two high picks on small schoolers. It was a ballsy move that didn't work out. troup, when healthy, hasn't done much at all. Carrington is good on a few snaps, but hardly looks good as an every down type of player. And the rest of that draft? Players that are already cut and gone or just not contributing, though moats has been a nice story. Then the bad part about free agency, cornell green? Good lord. And I liked, and still do, the dwan edwards and andra davis signings. they were solid stop gap guys for a bit, though they need to be replaced now. Then the bad part about gailey... as soon as wood/jackson went down, the guy completly abandoned the run game and all his playcalling just went bonkers. His playcalling was pretty fantastic early on, and I almost think that his playcalling changes is what lead to Fitz's increase in interceptions, not Fitz being "injured." I think Gailey put the game in Fitz's hands and that was just dumb. Fitz needs a strong run game to compliment him to cut back on those interceptions like the jests did when they went to the afc championships with sanchez. And as others have mentioned, their record just sucks. Comparing it to Jauron's and other regimes isn't that fair. The strength of the schedule varies a lot. the Phins and Jests got a lot better the year jauron got canned, and the teams chan has played in generall have been better teams. But still, their record sucks. And if they don't get a winning season THIS year, it is going to be time to write them off. And if they don't make the playoffs, then there should be worry about this direction. I think that if they have another Barnett type signing and a draft like last years, they will make the playoffs. But they need to add good players through the draft and free agency to do that.
  22. I will change nothing. Even if we were the only ones, it would still cost too much to move up. Of it was just 2 or 3 spots it would be one thing, but it is too much
  23. Yes, he is great. He is probably one of the best
  24. I love those guys, but I don't think they are as high profile as peyton
