  1. Oh yeah, no doubt that is true. But you weren't talking about playoffs, you were talking superbowl. Brees is great and all, but no way does he win a superbowl with these coaches, this defense, and these receivers. Playoffs? oh yea, sure, you put a stud QB on this team, we are an instant playoff team. Maybe even an AFC championship appearence if lucky, but sorry, no super bowl win. Maybe you are more opptimistic than I am, but this team isn't good enough to have a stud QB and all of a sudden be ready to win a super bowl. This team needs a stud qb plus a lot of work to win a super bowl. A sin is an exageration on my part, but that is where the advantage was, and that is where the battle should have been won. The bills were going up against a terrible offense and an average (at worst) defense, and both our offense and our defense sucked. So even though they both sucked, I give more blame to the defense because they were up against a much less talented unit. I also didn't talk about how special teams gave up a TD. Doesn't mean much, because the whole team sucked that game. Can't put the blame on one player (or even one unit) alone. And if you want to think that fitz fumbled/intercepted the ball four times, I guess you are more than welcome to think that. But the facts say you are wrong, and you are seriously stretching the truth there. I remember that game well, despite how much I drank, and I know there were 4 turnovers in that game, and at least one of those was a spiller fumble. So I am pretty sure 3 turnovers were actually credited to fitz. Maybe there were 5 turnovers and I am remembering wrong, but I am pretty positive 4 turnovers, and one was a spiller fumble. But if you are using false stats to back up your claim, then that is sad.
  2. I would say fitz looked better than the defense against the Jests. The jests have a terrible offense. They arguably have a worse QB than Fitz, a worse running game than the bills, and a worse recieving group than the bills, yet they tore our defense apart. Hell, their only good thing on offense was their oline, and they had a scrub starting at RT, and the defense couldn't take advantage of it! Fitz throwing an interception to the best CB in the game? hell, I expected that.... but this jests offense is a joke. Allowing them to score more than 10 points on us, turnover or not, was a sin. ] I have read people say "Ftiz would be fine if...." like early last year..... but I never heard anyone mention "Fitz" and "super bowl" in the same sentence on this board until this thread. I thought it was pretty widespread and common opinion here that if we couldn't win a super bowl with kelly, we couldn't win one with Fitz. But I have read people say that we could win/get to the playoffs with Fitz.... but super bowl? we may have some optimistic fans here that can be delusional, but I can't recall one post where someone looked at Fitz's performance and typed "superbowl!" without being sarcastic. The thing is, stating that fitz can't get us to the super bowl is basically stating the obvious, and I don't think anyone here would argue fitz has what it takes to win a super bowl..... but over they years, Bills fans have lowered expectations so much, that just making the playoffs would be satisfying.... which is sad. But this whole thread is just stating the obvious about fitz. This team is still a mess, even with a franchise QB. Our playcalling on both sides of the ball is more than questionable, our linebackers are a liability, our QB is without a doubt a bottom 10 QB, our receivers are underwelming, and our corners are either inexperienced or outright suck..... This team is more than just a QB away from being a superbowl team. We can argue that most of the losses are either on fitz or the defense.... but we are arguing regular season games. You want to talk about winning a superbowl? It is more than just the QB that would have to change.... worst part is, I don't see coaching getting any better until there is new ownership. Any coach better than Chan won't come here in fear of Ralph's passing and new ownership coming in and just firing everyone in sight. But if feels this thread is trying to make the argument that put eli manning or drew brews on this team, and all of a sudden we are on our way to the super bowl, and I am sorry, that is not the case. As important as a QB is, and how much the bills need one, the bills are not a good enough team to be just one player away from being a super bowl contender.
  3. The tenessee one is really the only one that would be soley on Fitz. The others, although blame is also on him, the defense looked worse than he did. Defense would be great on 1st and 2nd down, then completly shut down on 3rd down. And that is where the defense was killing us. And you saying that "many QB's would have been decent enough to get 4 touchdowns" in reference to the 49ers game is out right laughable. They arguably have the best defense, and you say thay "many" decent QBs would score four tds on them? how many games have the 49ers even allowed four tds against them? out right laughable.
  4. I don't know why I am drawn into reading this terrible thread, but I do. This is just a long winded way of saying fitz sucks? If you need a long winded way of saying it with a few trick references, then you really need to look again at fitz. Explaining how much fitz sucks is very easy to explain in a more direct way. Fitz sucks, but our defense was even worse than him in the first half. Very few, if any QBs could have won those games with that defense. But now that the defense is playing better, we are still losing, why? because fitz isn't good and our playcalling has been more than questionable. If we had this defense in the begining of the year, even just a slightly better QB, and some better playcalling, we would be in the playoffs. And that is not to say we are close to being a good team, but so many teams in the AFC have sucked this year, there was definently a missed opportunity on our part for the playoffs..... But yeah, let's bring up something polian said, mislead everyone, take it out of context, interpret it to fit our own personal views, explain that Fitz will never win a superbowl, and then act like it is some ground breaking news because the whole football world was expecting fitz to win at least one superbowl. Congrats sir, the football world is shocked by your lil football formula that proves the whole world wrong and FItz will never win the superbowl we had all expected. You would think people could just watch a bills game and tell that Fitz would never win a superbowl, but apparently THIS is what is needed to explain it way. but on a side note, Fitz has actually played better than I expected. I really thought he would have played a lot worse.
  5. The dark lord sees something in that brad smith kid.
  6. Agreed, though adding another receiver in the draft to compete is fine with me
  7. A little early, but excited to hit up the Tampa game
  8. Yeah, byrd we can just tag. If we tag levitre, it would cost too much. I am confident byrd will he a bill next season, levitre is another story though.
  9. The best case scenario for us would be they fire Chan, eagles fire Reid, Reid comes to buffalo, and we actually draft a decent QB. Though we aren't going to fire Chan and there is no way Reid would come here. Heck, as bad as Chan looks, I doubt we can attract someone better than him to be honest. Too bad we can't draft a coach.
  10. I'll watch next week, because I can't not watch a bills game. But we definently need some major changes. Definently need a new qb, and if we are lucky, we will get help at linebacker and get a new dc. And if you believe in miracles, we could get a stud new HC and GM!
  11. That is what will probably happen. Lots of teams will flock to him in a bidding war unless we franchise him. And I'm sure he would test the market too, just because there would he s huge bidding war. The guy plays great and he stays healthy. Great player to keep. Levitre may be trickier. They would need to sign him before free agency
  12. I don't know. There really arent many qbs taken in the 2nd round, which is one reason why there aren't that many successful ones. I wouldn't avoid it just because of that stat. There should be a qb available in the 2nd round that would be reasonably better than Fitz and make us a much better team. These qbs seem to be getting better coaching, and are more ready. There seem to be a lot less qb busts recently the past couple years. Gabbert being the exception. We are seeing 3rd and 4th rounders playing well their first year.
  13. The only games we can actually lose and make playoffs would be seahawks or rams. The other games are must wins because they should be easy to win or they are games against afc opponents that we are fighting with for a playoff spot. It will be easier to tell after this weekend. But if we lose to indy, we are done.
  14. Fitz isn't really a disapointment. He is playing about the same as he was last year, and I didn't expect him to be any better this year
  15. he obviously did everything he could to run up the score so one of his star players would get hurt.
  16. Not sure. He signed with the chargers so quickly, it seemed talks didn't progress very much. It is obvious they wanted him, but to say they "went all in" on him seems to be an exaggeration.
  17. How was he going "all in" ?. Was there even a bid made by buffalo? I don't remember any reports of an offer being made.
  18. I think he would still be better than Fitz, which is good enough for me. but there are other qbs that would probably be better and get drafted later. I am not sure where Kyle Wilson will get drafted, but if we could get a good lb in the first and Kyle Wilson in the 2nd, then I say good deal. That cuse qb in the 3rd or 4th wouldnt became bad idea. Part of me actually wants them to draft two qbs.
  19. I know Fitz is bad, but anything below 55 seems way to low, even for him.
  20. Got a music video to go along with it?
  21. The toughest teams we have left are seahawks and rams, and those are both home games for us (well, home/toronto). Indy is ok, but I think they are worse than us. Their record is very misleading. They have had an easy schedule for the most part. Jax should be an easy win, and I am expecting a win at indy. that is two wins..... Jests and miami now.... we beat miami once, but that is not a game to guarentee, and jests. although they suck, they killed us (when they were healthier). So I am expecting about 3 wins realistically, though I think it is possible to go 5-1 with our schedule. if we end the season 8-8, we have a chance for the playoffs still. but I don't think 4 more wins will be easy to come by, and even then it won't guarenttee playoffs.
  22. Man, hope we can afford to keep him. Guy is having a great season
