  1. Exactly my thoughts. I don't see anywhere Whaley saying that he is planning on using a high pick on a project QB, or QB with a lot of question marks. Whaley is basically saying what every person, including polian has said about the QBs in this draft.....Let us hang whaley for stating the obvious that everyone thinks about these QBs.
  2. Kelsey is one of the key things I am looking for as well during this offseason process. The thing about Kelsey is, he must have some kind of value. this guy has survived a ton of coaching changes, so coaches must like the guy. How hard can it be to trade him for a 6th/7th pick? I don't see a spot here for kelsey anymore with these new coaches. they are going to be running multiple fronts, and he is only usefull in a 4-3. in a 3-4, the guy is worthless. we have plenty of options on the outside, and mitght even draft another one. he just isn't worth keeping.
  3. That is what I am thinking. I don't see him getting this 10 million a year people are throwing around in this thread. There is a chance someone overpays him and gives him 7/8 million a year, but not 10.
  4. NBC sports is making a bigger push to compete with ESPN with all these shows they added in the past year... sadly, they are still worse than ESPN, and that is saying something, because ESPN is pretty much garbage. PFT is pretty weak when the 2 people that do most of the talking are basically lawyers. Florio used to have "insider" info back in the day, but his sources seemed to have dried up. He seems a step behind getting the news now. I remember like 6 years ago he used to have everyone beat by a good 30- 60 minutes for free agent signings. And that said, the crossover bores me to tears. Beadle is nice to look at though.
  5. I do think letting go of jones signals that they do re-sign nelson..... but the way the front office is talking, they are really pushing for stevie to move into the slot and get a big body/ big playmaker for the outside. There are plenty of recievers in free agency (at least that is how it stands now). I think the bills can get an upgrade over Jones in free agency pretty easy at a decent price. If they are able to get a decent receiver on the outside and move stevie in the slot, then Nelson might not be a starter, if he is still on the team. One other thing though, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-sign nelson and have him play a little tight end if chandler isn't ready early in the season. I don't think nelson is much of a blocker, but he would fit in as receiving TE.
  6. Tim Tebow? oh wait.......er, whatever, hell, tebow doesn't get injured. Really though, the only running qbs that get injured are the ones that make stupid decisions. RGIII is ok, because he is young and will make better decisions. Vick has been making bad choices his whole career, taking hits when he should be running out of bounds, sliding, or getting down or something.
  7. I don't know too much about crossman, but before the lions, didn't he have pretty good special teams with the panthers?
  8. Just out of curiosity, who were some of the ten that he said were better? Rice is really the only one I would put above moss. Calvin Johnson when all is said and done might pass him.... But yeah, moss is clearly one of the best talent wise. If he had the work ethic he would probably be the Barry sanders of wide receivers
  9. I am leaning towards this too reguarding our first pick. Which is a good/bad thing imo. On one hand, having another pass rusher would do wonders for us, having LB be a liabiltly for us might hold us back too much. Like you said, there really aren't any MLB worth 8th pick.... I haven't looked too much into FA, but getting LB help in free agency might be a good idea.
  10. That is pretty much how I feel. That part about weedon is a pretty funny. Right now, Smith seems to be the best option at QB, though getting him will be quite difficult. Smith might be a product of good coaching, but I can't imagine him regressing so bad here that he is worse than fitz. I would expect him to be at least average here, which would be a huge improvement. And we can still draft a young guy. Im very curious as to who is going to be our next QB, because I am very sure that he isn't on our roster, and I am scared that it might be something bad, just because there aren't a lot of options out there right now.
  11. I was expecting it. This is something the bills will keep doing until Toronto decides it isn't worth it anymore. It is easy money for the bills. I just hope our future owner keeps the bills in buffalo
  12. I think he has some good upside. He gradually got better during his career, he has a good arm, and has a good head on his shoulders..... but he isn't a top prospect like luck or griffen, and has too much risk to be taken in the top ten. Taking him in the 2nd round is reasonable enough for me, though that senior bowl performance gives me more doubt.
  13. I like Nassib and Wilson as prospects... but not worth the 8th pick. Manuel payed pretty good yesterday, but that is the first game I saw where he played at that level. I would like to use the 8th pick on a linebacker. There seem to be a few LBs that might fall to us. We need a receiver, but I am not sure if there is a receiver worth picking there either. Although Nassib and Wilson looked troubleing yesterday, I would use the 2nd rounder on either of them. But they more than likely wont be there, just based on trend of QBs going early. But you never know.
  14. I have read/heard every interview by him since hired, and I haven't seen him say that once.
  15. We are so weak at the linebacker position that going to a 3-4 base sounds scary. if we didn't have the linebackers to do a 4-3, no way do we have enough for a 3-4, even if you throw merriman in there. For a team that has spent so many offseason grabbing dlinemen, going to a 3-4 base will just pull away from that. If this coaching ensemble goes to a 3-4, and they put Kelsey at OLB because they dont have enough linebackers, I am going to lose my mind. I am not sure what defense base they are going to run, but having two linebacker coaches is very telling.
  16. That is what I was thinking. There are obvious business opportunities available there, whether it is making small talk with agents or getting a feel for what other teams might be doing personel wise. Lots of reasons to doubt brandon, but him being in Alabama isn't a problem. Problem will be of whaley/nix continue to fail, and he didn't rid of them sooner
  17. I am warming up to nassib. I would prefer Tyler Wilson and trading down for him, but I am confident nassib would be a huge upgrade over Fitz and would be worth taking, even as a reach
  18. I don't know, 2 in a row isn't really a pattern. With all the changes teams go through every year, I can't see this happening 3 years in a row
  19. After reading all this I am signing up for a subscription. This stuff can keep me busy all off season
  20. Well, there were people available, they just refused to interview for the job
  21. I think people are over reacting, but not too much. I don't think we use our 1st pick on him, but I do think if he is there for our 2nd pick, they take him. But it is early to tell right now
  22. Pretty much. This isn't what I wanted and I really hope they do better at DC
