  1. I say let it play itself out. This team would be better with him, even with searcy and williams playing well. It is wastefull trading away our good players just to get a 3rd and fourth rounder for them (which is what we would probably get for byrd, if we were lucky.
  2. call me crazy, but tuel reminds me a little bit of Losman with his deep passes.
  3. Everytime they extend someone really early, that player ends up crapping out after the new contract or has a nasty injury. See pears and fitz for starters. Imo, it doesn't matter if they do it now or later. I don't think Byrd would have signed an extension a year ago, and same with levitre. Only way they sign at that time is by overpaying
  4. Well, 4th round pick. But agreed, I don't see tuel as a legit backup, and I still think he will end up on the ps.
  5. from the interview, it seems like he was going to have one TD dance that he would use throughout the year. If he does it that way, it would be a lot better. If it is the same dance, and it is within the rules, then it won't hurt the team. Like Cruz's salsa dancing. If stevie were going to do something different everytime, then I would think that is a bit risky with all the extra rules.
  6. With Marrone being a good Oline coach, and being very hands on with this line, I am not too worried. I think he will get the best out of what he has. I cant imagine the line being that much worse compared to last year with him being so hands on. Though it is hard to imagine them not signing/drafting a new starting guard next season
  7. kinda reminds me when Fitz got booed and Chan was all "you dog one of us, you dog all of us." Except with the Jests, it was the "father of the year" candidate that stuck up for the qb than the coach. I don't know about playoffs this year, but I am sensing a lock that we finish at the very least 3rd in the division, get excited!
  8. Because, people are guilty until proven innocent, or however the saying goes. Either way, I'm hoping this Mario thing gets put to bed soon. Don't want this thing to be the focus of training camp.
  9. I think it is stalling. Timing is just too odd. I think the wrist thing was just an excuse for his poor play st the begining of the year
  10. Keeps in touch with sources. Though his sources are no longer what they used to be. 6-8 years ago his sources were much better
  11. Well, it was one question. It was just asked multiple times ;-)
  12. Asking a question 5 times is a little silly, especially since Chan had the same problem with Mario last year. I think Doug over reacted, but if he didn't say something, it very well could have been asked 15 times. There were so many questions that went unasked, it is nonsense that the same thing got asked multiple times.
  13. Pretty much this. And i don't thing this will be the last time something like this happens
  14. I get reporters questioning the Mario thing, but there are plenty of other topics to ask that are more interest to fans. How can they ask so many questions about Mario when we have a qb competition going on, and from reports, Manuel might have taken a slight lead today? How is THAT not the number one thing that kept getting asked? It should have been. Instead, Mario was asked about more than qb competition. Help, the kicking competition is more interesting than a mysterious injury that sounds minor at worst
  15. I agree we should be near bottom, but not below jests and raiders
  16. I think he sticks with the team for at least a couple more years. He is our best pass rusher, and I don't see him getting cut until they find someone to replace him.
  17. We are all calling it a toe injury, but the report says foot... So that encompasses more than toes as well. I don't see why it matters he didn't practice. Now if he was put on the PUP list.... That would be a little scary
  18. Naw, it is still going to be the pats* most likely. They are still number 1 where it matters: QB and HC. Any other team has too much to prove to be a serious challenger. And the hype surrounding miami is over the top. Tanahill had a solid rookie year, but hardly a break out star. Wallace is one of the best deep threats, but not a great all around reciever. Them losing reggie bush is really going to hurt them. Swapping Dansby for Ellerbe is a latteral move at best, and I think a downgrade in my opinion. Dion Jordan is a high risk high reward type. And they arguably are worse at LT than they were last year, I just don't see this team competing with the pats* anymore than the bills or jests really. Unless one of the other teams pulls a big surprise, it will still be the Pats* division this year.
  19. lol, oh yeah, let's boycott going to the games. Not showing up to games has really helped Jax! Let's not show up to games, so we don't just have a crappy team, but a crappy fanbase too! you would think that Not showing up to games = playoffs by the way some of you are talking.
  20. I think we should agree that all personel decisions was were made with collective input, and everyone should be accountable for it. Most of the responsibility falls on the top guys, and Whaley was 2nd in command. I don't think their FA signing record is THAT bad. I think it is quite decent, and better than what the recent previous regimes have done. Now their drafting on the other hand..... there is a bit of a mess
  21. I'm calling it now: He will get signed by Denver
  22. To be fair, you left off chandler and pears, but I agree with the point that you are making.
