  1. Joke or not, you clearly were unaware what goes into building the schedule and requested proof that teams would make requests, other than prime time games.
  2. If you think that the schedule is created only by a formula created by an "intern" you have no idea how the nfl schedule is created. this is a really nice writeup via the new york times explaining the process. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/20/sports/nfl-schedule-makers-try-their-best-to-please-everybody.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 and if you don't want to read the whole thing, here so some quotes: I mean, if you don't know that teams put in requests for the schedule, then you really have no idea what goes into it because teams make a TON of requests. And if you read the article, teams are not the only ones making scheduling demands with the nfl.
  3. I think it was actually Ralph that said it... and it was like 4-6 years ago, so it might not be easy to find
  4. I think EJ should be the starter, but 1) this will slow his development. 2) even though EJ should start week 1, it is reasonable to say the coaches with think Kolb is more "ready" and start Kolb instead. 3) the injury could have a setback or he might not be healthy enough for week 1, which isn't as much of a concern All in all, EJ should start, but this injury does play a part in this, and the reasons I listed above are what is bothering most people. If all goes well, EJ will start week 1. But this injury creates some doubt, just because we don't know the criteria of these coaches. If they go by talent, EJ. But if they think Kolb knows the system better, and thats more important to them, they might go with Kolb I think people are over reacting though. If Kolb starts for us, I can't imagine it being more than 2 games
  5. I'm thinking this should be in the mix.Glenn is a decent LT, but if a good lt falls to them, they would prob draft the lt and move Glenn
  6. Agree with you on that. On one hand it is riskier to knock out Kolb and give more reps to tuel. But on the other hand, it would be a bold move that I think will be worth it. But as far as the grading goes with the QBs, I still give the edge to EJ because he played the 1st and 2nd stringers compared to beating up on people who won't be in the bel next month. If we did switch them, and tuel did reps with the first team, EJ would destroy the 3rd and 4th stringers, which is a safe assumption. I just don't see the justification of tuel bring ahead of EJ. I can see Kolb in a way, but not EJ. Technically, Easily outplayed every receiver, if you go by that measuring stick , and he is lucky if he makes the team. I did give him props and I didn't "knock" him down. You must have been looking at another post
  7. It would be a waste to give 1st team reps to tuel right now. If we spread them out to 3 qbs, we won't have a qb ready for weak 1. I don't see the point of giving the 3rd string qb 1st team reps when the other qb has done well. All that is going to do is bring a circus, have people doubt EJ, media/fans complaining that they are wasting EJ, all on a slim chance that tuel might outplay EJ vs starting nfl talent. If EJ played poorly, and tuel did amazing, I could understand that. But tuel did not outplay EJ on Sunday. All tuel did was do better than expected and might have earned a roster spot. But he did not outplay EJ
  8. This "over-inflated" ego claim seems to be a little unjustified. Are you saying players like Eric Wood, Jeff Tuel, Dustin Hopkins, Kendall Gaskins have an over-inflated ego just because they post on twitter? I get not caring what people say on twitter. Although there are some nice exchanges (players interacting with fans, players giving out free stuff, pictures from practice/camp, etc) a lot of it is nonesense. But saying players that post on twitter have an "over-inflated" ego is unfair. As for the topic, I enjoy TJ Graham's tweets. I get a similar impression from his tweets that he likes being a Bill and would re-sign with us if he gets the opportunity. I really want to like CJ's twitter, but almost all his tweets are bible verses. Nothing wrong with it, but he doesn't have much "original" stuff I guess you can call it. I also like the players that post pictures of them with fans or just responding to fans. I think it is good to see players responding to fans, especially when the response is good. And as far as bills twitter accounts go, as anyone seen the fake Nate hackett account? it is @CrazyNateHacket. It was funny in the begining, but whoever runs the account is beating the red bull joke to death now. But I will admit. I got a good chuckle out it early on.
  9. I say let it play itself out. This team would be better with him, even with searcy and williams playing well. It is wastefull trading away our good players just to get a 3rd and fourth rounder for them (which is what we would probably get for byrd, if we were lucky.
  10. call me crazy, but tuel reminds me a little bit of Losman with his deep passes.
  11. Everytime they extend someone really early, that player ends up crapping out after the new contract or has a nasty injury. See pears and fitz for starters. Imo, it doesn't matter if they do it now or later. I don't think Byrd would have signed an extension a year ago, and same with levitre. Only way they sign at that time is by overpaying
  12. Well, 4th round pick. But agreed, I don't see tuel as a legit backup, and I still think he will end up on the ps.
  13. from the interview, it seems like he was going to have one TD dance that he would use throughout the year. If he does it that way, it would be a lot better. If it is the same dance, and it is within the rules, then it won't hurt the team. Like Cruz's salsa dancing. If stevie were going to do something different everytime, then I would think that is a bit risky with all the extra rules.
  14. With Marrone being a good Oline coach, and being very hands on with this line, I am not too worried. I think he will get the best out of what he has. I cant imagine the line being that much worse compared to last year with him being so hands on. Though it is hard to imagine them not signing/drafting a new starting guard next season
  15. kinda reminds me when Fitz got booed and Chan was all "you dog one of us, you dog all of us." Except with the Jests, it was the "father of the year" candidate that stuck up for the qb than the coach. I don't know about playoffs this year, but I am sensing a lock that we finish at the very least 3rd in the division, get excited!
  16. Because, people are guilty until proven innocent, or however the saying goes. Either way, I'm hoping this Mario thing gets put to bed soon. Don't want this thing to be the focus of training camp.
  17. I think it is stalling. Timing is just too odd. I think the wrist thing was just an excuse for his poor play st the begining of the year
  18. Keeps in touch with sources. Though his sources are no longer what they used to be. 6-8 years ago his sources were much better
  19. Well, it was one question. It was just asked multiple times ;-)
  20. Asking a question 5 times is a little silly, especially since Chan had the same problem with Mario last year. I think Doug over reacted, but if he didn't say something, it very well could have been asked 15 times. There were so many questions that went unasked, it is nonsense that the same thing got asked multiple times.
