  1. He will fit right in. He is already used to a losing culture! In all seriousness, it is a good hire. Would have rather have kept Pettine, but we don't have a choice
  2. A lot of fans on Twitter seem to think the bills are going after him too
  3. Article on nfl.com bout the schiano interview says pettine has a third interview on Thursday... What the hell...
  4. If the bills gave their current HC permission to interview for another HC job, I would officially be done with the team because I don't know it what world that would make any sense. I am not a Hackett fan, but I honestly would worry him leaving and bringing in a new OC because it would probably hurt EJ's development. Swapping out OCs over and over has done a ton of damage to young QBs. If the browns don't make him an offer today, I am leaning toward pettine staying. After two interviews, and they still don't know if he is the guy, then they really have no idea what they are doing. In all honesty, they were stupid to fire their HC after one year.
  5. Now Brown's have left mobile and have another interview in the morning somewhere else.... This reporting is like the Mario reporting. So much bad Intel
  6. Which is the number one reason why I think it is going to happen As much as it is tough being a bills fan, I am thrilled to not be a browns fan. People hate on Ralph, but the browns by far have it worse ownership wise
  7. If they don't make an offer by the end of the week, I would think pettine pulls his name out of the running
  8. Agreed. Like you said, this is only 1 year in this system. If it were at least 3 years into it,, i would feel better about plugging in a DC than now. I am shocked that after one year, pettine has a good shot to go to a HC Job after the bills went 6-10. Brown's are really screwing things up. They were crazy to fire their coach so quickly.
  9. Only reason I was ok with trading lynch is because it was becoming obvious he was never going to re-sign here and he kept getting into trouble. better to get something for him than nothing. Otherwise, it is an annoying move and I can't wait until he retires and I dont have to see him anymore to remind me.
  10. It would be cool to have a qb throw 27 tds and 2 int
  11. all we need to do is draft a special teams stud with our first round pick. problem solved
  12. The knees are really the only thing that concern me at this point. Talent wise, he played ok for a rookie. But it isn't right for him to get 3 knee injuries in one season.
  13. Guard might be easier to upgrade in FA or in later rounds
  14. And add these: Cut down on penalties Adjust playcalling on offense Qb coach Another linebacker
  15. Gotta hold players accountable, especially when the team is young. Otherwise you have the problems the lions had past couple years with players acting like they could do whatever they want
  16. That's what I'm hoping too. I know there were character questions with some players we drafted, but he seemed to be one of the clean ones
  17. If this was Stevie, there would have been 5 threads already. Terrible action. Coaching staff has to come down hard on him for that though. This kid is talented and could turn into a good #1 for us
  18. Defense showed up. Offense is MIA
  19. His first mistake was the Hackett hiring. Too inexperienced to run an NFL offense. Next was cutting tavaris Jackson and keeping Kolb. I am almost positive that cost us at least one win there. The silly challenges made throughout the season was embarrassing, but those have calmed down at least. I like him more than I hate him right now. But I need to see a lot of improvement next season, especially on offense
  20. Yeah, NFL draftcountdown he is pretty accurate, and usually ahead of the game than the other talking heads. He had von miller going in the top 5 when no one even had him in the 1st round I believe. He is pretty good at knowing how good a lot of the players are and has a better idea how high they will go than some others.
  21. I very much agree with this, and I think this might be the best hope we have of coaching improvement. I find it hard to believe that Hackett with be let go, but having a real QB coach would free up hackett more (maybe improve hackett) and give EJ the attention he needs to develop. I think it is crazy to have Hackett as OC and QB coach when it is a rookie QB we are dealing with. If it was Tom Brady, ok, save the personel I guess for another position. But this makes no sense.
  22. I am liking the Mike Evans idea a lot. even though we drafted two wide receivers last year, I think this guy is in our reach and would make this team great. Evans would be our number 1 guy, stevie as our slot guy, Goodwin the deep threat guy, and woods can play opposite Evans. We wouldn't even really need to upgrade tight end imo if we grab Evans, that is enough weapons for EJ.
  23. When I first looked this over, I thought you were off base. Then when I really thought about it, I would have to agree. I would add in there that there were too many young/inexperienced people (coaches and players). I wouldn't include that in your percentages, I think it is good the way it is. But maybe like an underlying issue that should fix itself as time goes on.... hopefully
  24. It wouldn't be impossible. We came pretty close the last time, and they had wilfork and mayo back then. We have a lot of young players on the team, some of them could "turn the corner" any day now and have a break out game. Of course, some of them could become total busts. Right now patriots have one of the worst run defenses in the nfl, and we have one of the better run games. If we run the ball down their throats and play better on defense, I say we have a shot. Not a good one, but a realistic one. Especially now that Gronk is out
