Hey, with 10-1 odds, it's a no-brainer IMHO CW -

Does anyone belive that Drew Bledsoe

I disagree; I think he's got a decent shot. As amazing as it might sound, outside of Buffalo (and possibly New England), people think Bledsoe is a very good QB. He's got a *great* reputation as a player, helped save two franchises (yes, Gillette Field was a direct result of DB, and we all know that he single-handedly revived interest in the Bills), is top 10 in nearly every passing category, has gone to two Superbowls, and has only been playing 12 years. To compare to Testeverde, Bledsoe is only 5000 yards behind him, in six less seasons. Average TDs per season is 18.4 for DB, and only 14 for VT. Not even in the same ballpark. I don't think he's a lock, but he's got a shot. CW -
To play Devil's advocate, maybe they're trying to light a fire under JPL's butt as well. Remember when he was put in the Pats game, he pretty much said that he wasn't prepared to play the game. Maybe, in order to get him to practice/rehab/study/whatever harder than he normally would, they're throwing him the "starting position" bone. CW

Just 30 minute highlights. Or lowlights... CW

I'm with tgreg on not understanding the facination with the kicker. Kicking in college doesn't really translate to the NFL from what I gather. I have no idea what the differences are, but great kickers (and punters) in college rarely seem to become great kickers/punters in the NFL. Where did Vinetari come from? Mare? Vanderject? Even our very own Moorman. I don't remember hearing anything about these guys in college, yet they've all had/are having great NFL careers. Not saying the guy won't be good, but I just don't know if I want to spend a 2nd rounder on him. I've never seen him play though. CW

So are you saying he's going to be cut before March 1st, like plenty of other people here have stated? CW

I havn't read or heard anything from OBD to signify that Drew's going anywhere. The "open competition" thing is coach-speak; just like the "we need to execute better," everyone says it. Don't be surprised if DB does come back as the starter. And as I've said before, if the coaches think JPL is playing better than DB in practice/camp and think he should start, then great. But what he's shown on the field has been "run first, run second, and pass as a last resort." If he can't fix that, we're much better off with DB. CW

I'm recording the Bills ones, might do a DVD. However, the NFL Network also has a bunch of them showing. Not sure if they're going to be the same or not, so I'm recording both. Poeple might want to check the schedule though (NFL Network is 212 on DirecTV). They might be the same, but then again they might not. CW

You're too predictable. Why not just ask, "How many games has DB won against winning teams that he has lost? Look, not a single one!!!!" That might make you feel even better. CW

Against teams that made the playoffs this year, we were 3-4. Not the greatest, but certainly not terrible either. Peyton Manning went 2-2 against playoff teams... Breese (who I've read some want on our team) went 1-3 against playoff teams. McNabb went 2-2. Hell, Culpepper went 0-5 against playoff teams but eveyrone's quick to say he's great around here. Puts things into a little perspective -- most teams had around the same winning percentage against good teams that we did. Of course, I know your next response will be "The teams we beat weren't good, even though they made the playoffs and we didn't," which we both know is complete BS. (it also shows that we had a pretty brutal schedule this year; then again, that's bound to happen when two teams in your division go to the playoffs; and yet we STILL had a winning record). CW

Except for the fact that coaching severely limited the number of sacks DB took in the 2nd half of this season... Meaning coaching does have a lot to do with sacks I think. (I'm one who didn't really think the OL coach was that important a peice; I stand corrected after watching last season). CW

Yup, one losing record in three years is pretty crappy. Good to see the lynch mob mentality is alive and well at TBD/TSW. CW

Anyone who wants to play some old games can download an emulator here: http://www.viceteam.org/ And lots of C64 games here: http://www.tld-crew.de/games.htm CW

My cousin had an Odyssey; it was pretty cool. I had an Intellivision, and it was very cool Played King's Quest a couple times, but never got into it... CW

One of the first role playing games? Hardly... It came out in '87. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/leisuresuitlarry/ The entire Bards Tale series was out before then, as was Ultima 1 through 4 (maybe 5...). Might and Magic was out, and I'm pretty sure the TSR Gold Box games (Pool of Radience, etc) were out as well... Not that Larry wasn't a good game, but it wasn't one of the first RPGs (The C128 had CP/M as well; never used it much though) CW

Ok, and if it were real you don't think there there'd be some news article about it somewhere? I was thinking it was a dummy (literally, not figuratively) pushed out of the car. But again, I'm a cynic. CW -
While not quite as retro, the first computer I ever used to connect to the internet was a Commodore 64 with a 300baud modem... This was back in '88 or '89. I even had special terminal emulation software that let me display 80 characters across (since the C64 only did 20 or 40 native, don't recall). Ahhh, the good ol' days. I think my parents still have that computer... It had some amazing games on it, even for this day and age. M.U.L.E., Archon and Archon 2, Maniac Mansion, Bards Tale 1, 2, and 3, Alternate Reality (the first first-person game that allowed you to move more realisticially, rather than a square at a time), and then the best game of all time -- Ultima 4. Call me a cynic, but there's no way that's real. How convenient that all you see is him actually falling out of the car. That was staged. CW -
Sam Wyche Says OPEN QB Competition This Year..
Fezmid replied to AirBledsoe11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, it IS Bledsoe's team until JPL takes it from him. If the season were to start today, DB would be the starter. I guess this throws out the theory that he'll be cut before March 1st. CW -
If you go to a restaurant, it takes about 10 minutes to get there, 10 minutes to get back, and about 30-45 minutes for service. I'm salaried so I get as much time as I want; as long as I finish the various projects by the deadlines nobody cares. However, more often than not I just skip lunch (or grab a sandwich and eat that at my desk). CW

Shocked no one said anything about Milloy

I pretty much don't count that 31-0 game that we lost because it was obvious that everyone ran for the bus that day, starting with Brown not even making the trip. So we're 1-4 against the Pats in my book. Still not good though. CW -
[OT] What's your best excuse for calling in sick?

If you get the flu, you're out for a week... There's 5 days right there. CW -
You don't need a laywer for this - if you went to court, it'd be a civil case (think Judge Judy or People's Court), and neither side would be allowed a lawyer. The apartment's insurance may be liable, but I'm not sure. I'd have the guy pay (who cares if you know him? He screwed up), and if he doesn't, go downtown and file a civil suit against him. It's really easy; I had to sue my landlord because he tried CHARGING us $1,000 (on top of our security deposit of $500) when we moved out to do things like paint, put new carpet and miniblinds, caulk the bathtub, and other normal wear and tear stuff. I read all about tenant/landlord laws and found that he was being a bafoon. Went to court and ended up getting ~$700 (ie: he would've been better off returning our entire security deposit). It was a fun story, I should recap it here sometime. CW
