  1. Maybe, but I doubt it... The owner of the company has very close ties to businesses and politicians... Plus, the city would then have to deal with the fact that there's a bunch of drug addicts who want to try and get clean (or who are being forced to be there due to the court system) with nowhere to go... So they'll go on the streets... Bad PR for the city if that happened. CW
  2. Yeah, click there and it works just fine. I use the PowerPoint feature to automatically make HTML. I'm lazy, I know... Forgive me? CW
  3. I'd have to ask my wife for sure, but I'm pretty sure it's on Portland Ave. http://rseden.nonprofitoffice.com/index.as...2-05107582507E} CW
  4. Yes, you get POP (and/or IMAP, I can't recall). I havn't gotten a single spam message in mine yet. Then again, I don't use it much either... But I doubt Google is selling the email addresses; they're a pretty up-and-up company for the most part. CW
  5. http://www.gmail.com It's Google's free email system. Careful though; they (reportedly) archive everything. Rumor has it that they're using Gmail as a testbed for their searching and to develop new technology. They needed a large volume of data, and what better way to get that large volume of data? CW
  6. Good points; most of them are doctors and lawyers and such. I know the developers have alerady made an offer to my wife's company to buy the land, but they're not offering enough for the company to be able to buy land/buildings elsewhere. I guess I wouldn't be surprised to see an offer come in later. However, I doubt the government would get involved. Of course, you never can tell. CW
  7. Everyone needs to take care of their computer's security. I offer a community education class locally, but for my TSW brothers and sisters, I offer the class notes for free: http://www.fezam.com/security Everyone should at least glance it over. I'm open to comments and potential additions as well (I'm teaching it again in March). PM me. CW
  8. What does MS have to do with lower hardware costs? TVs have come WAY down in price; 6 years ago, I bought a crappy 32" TV that doesn't even have s-video inputs and paid about $850 for it. Today, I can buy a 32" TV with s-video AND component inputs for $350: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...ronics&n=507846 Cheap DVD players cost $20 nowadays, compared to $150 several years ago. Harddrives used to cost a fortune, now they can be had for less than 50 cents a gig. I'll admit that they're software is getting (somewhat) better; but then again, they really had nowhere to go but up, and a lot of their "innovation" has come from simply buying out other companies (BrightMail, anyone?) Microsoft (nor any other software vendor) hasn't had much of anything to do with these falling prices; it's just more and more people are buying PCs, so the economy of scales kicks in. CW
  9. How do you figure, aside from the fact that they have no yard? They're still purchased by the people living in them. CW
  10. True story: My wife manages a drug treatment facility, and it's right near downtown Minneapolis. Some developer just put in some REALLY nice condos in that area, right across the street. The condos are selling for over $1,000,000... And what do the owners get to see when they look out the window? (rehabilitating) Drug addicts smoking in the parking lot... After seeing that, I'm not sure I buy the property value argument, although I would've agreed wholeheartedly a year or two ago. On the other hand, I question why the people spent that much money on the condos in that neighborhood anyway... CW
  11. This one was actually much easier than a game, because it's easier to predict where the commercials will be (ie: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes). With football, you never know how long before there's another one... Of course, in reality this one was one of the hardest because I made some boneheaded mistakes, including accidentally deleting the completed project when I was done; in essence, I had to do it twice. Then I found I encoded the video incorrectly... What should've been a straight-forward project turned into quote the timesink. Oh well. CW
  12. Why have you been choosing Comcast over DTV? At least in the Twin Cities, for me their costs are higher and their service is terrible. Just curious. CW

  14. All, I've just finished work on the Bills/Broncos preseason "Sounds of the Game" special that was on NFL Network this past summer. As many on TSW can attest, the feature was EXCELLENT. Basically you get to hear the coaches and players before, during, and after the game, and see what it's like in the huddle, on the sideline, in the locker room. It's by far one of the coolest things I've seen relating to football. The DVD contains the entire episode; it also contains all of the commericals that I cut from the episode, all put individually on the disk. Lastly, there's a special feature that I'm telling anyone about so you'll have to hunt for it yourself. Needless to say, it's definately worth the effort. I also have the following games available: Bills/Raiders AFC Championship Comeback game (Bills/Oilers) Bills/Dolphins Snow Bowl ('02) Bills/Pats "31-1" (9/7/03) Bills/Jaguars '03 (9/14/03) JPL & WM vs Broncos (8/15/04) Bills/Broncos "Sounds of the Game" (8/15/04) Bills/Titans (8/04 - no special features, includes commercials) Bills/Jags '04 (9/04) Bills/Seahawks (week 9, 2004 - no special features, includes commercials) If interested, each disk is $1, shipping is $4, and tips are optional but greatly appreciated. I can ship up to 8 disks in a package. PM me if interested. (this post will be put in the Trading Post as well, where I also post about available DVDs) CW
  15. Feel free to donate recipes... http://www.twobillsdrive.com/cookbook That's what it's there for CW
  16. Yeah, does cable have HD pr0n? http://www.directv.com/see/landing/spicehd.html *grin* CW
  17. From the reports here throughout the season, this was the last year you were able to get Sunday Ticket without getting DirecTV service. You now must subscribe. Do you have cable? If so, why wouldn't you switch to DirecTV? CW
  18. This one's harder, as you don't have the states you've already placed to guide you: http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/states_exp...ate15s_500.html CW
  19. See MY last post... The one where you only list one Pittsburgh victory in getting to the 6-0 record. CW
  20. So Brady didn't actually beat the Colts last week? Or was it last year against the Colts that he didn't get the win? Or could it be that the game against the Steelers in '01 was a non-decision for him, meaning Bledsoe got the win? CW
  21. Instead of hurling insults, why not back your information up with FACTS? Where's the link that shows Brady getting the win? CW
  22. Fine... And say what you will, but Bledsoe got the win in the AFC Championship game (regardless of what reporters want to write about Brady's 8-0 playoff record). A QB can't get a win for playing less than a half and being up 7-3 with a final score of 24-17. Isn't that even more of a knock on Brady, that he couldn't score a single point "just before halftime?" Where's this official stat? Even if true, how the hell does a QB get the win without scoring a single point and without playing the majority of the game? CW
  23. Brady interceptions: '02: 14 '03: 12 '04: 14 Bledsoe interceptions: '02: 15 '03: 12 '04: 16 Brady fumbles: '02: 11 '03: 13 '04: 7 Bledsoe fumbles: '02: 11 '03: 15 '04: 9 The stats aren't that far apart in the turnover category, especially when you take into consideration the fact that our OL is nowhere near as dominant... CW
  24. There's a link entitled "recipes" at the top of the page, right under Willis' left elbow. CW
  25. Because the opponent scored more than the starting QB did. In baseball, if you're up 1-0 and you pull the starting pitcher and end up winning the game 10-5, the relief pitcher gets the win. Another example: http://www.pointstreak.com/framed/prostats...l?gameid=186392 The score was 6-1 when Minnesota pulled their startign goalie. They lost the game 15-10. The backup goalie got the loss.
