Why not? He *wasn't* good enough either -- he was near the top of the league in runs for negative yards. How many 2nd and 3rd and shorts did he fail to pick up? Part of that is the OL, and part is the RB. He has room for improvement, as does everyone else. CW

Why? The only person responsible for us not going 16-0 and winning the Superbowl is off the team. What's left to bash? CW

Wow, can you be any more narrow minded? Our #1 receiver is a vet. #2? Rookie. #3? Who WAS our #3? Reed? Aiken? Who knows, but young and inexperienced comes to mind. Who was our RB? A 2nd year player. Our TEs? With the exception of Campbell, young. But go ahead and focus on one of the only vet receiver we have. Nobody wants to talk about football, they just want to insult everyone else. "Bills bretheren" my ass. CW -

Just because you have a signal of 0 on a transponder doesn't mean there's a problem -- not all transponders send out signals to all locations (ie: some are spot beams so you can't "see" them). That said, your signal strengths are really low. If you don't want to wipe snow off the dish, what some people do is fill a Super Soaker squirt gun with the blue windshield wiper solution (the stuff that doesn't freeze in winter). They then spray that up on the dish to melt the snow so they don't have to go up on the roof. http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showt...ht=super+soaker But again, I think once your dish is properly aligned that you should be fine. My guess is that your dish isn't aligned properly. What's your signal strength on a good day? It should be in the high-80s or low 90's on almost every transponder. If it's not, you need to adjust the dish (or call DirecTV and have them send someone out to do it, but you'll be waiting a few days for that). I live in Minnesota and have never had an outage due to snow or ice. Even heavy storms usually only knock me out for a minute or two (and those are the ones with tornado warnings). Could it be the dish cover is causing more harm than good? I've never actually used them before, so I don't know. I do know that I've had snow on the dish before and it hasn't affected it at all. And what makes you think the offense was setup because of Drew? Everyone here seems to say that, but nowhere has anyone shown evidence that it wasn't because it was an entirely new sceme, because that's just what the coaches wanted to run (ie: smash mouth, remember?), because the receivers were all young, etc, etc. That doesn't prove that they dumbed it down because of DB at all. CW -
Exactly -- the Patriots were *forced* to go with Brady, that's my point. Brady had to play extremely well to keep the job away from Bledsoe, and he did just that. It's a completely different situation than just handing the reigns over to JPL and saying, "Good luck!" Brady had to PROVE that he was worth the starting position, whereas the job is simply being handed to JPL. If Brady, subbing for an injured Bledsoe, played poorly, Bledsoe would've returned from the injury and been the starter. EDIT: Ok, VABills posted a more succinct version CW
-
The difference is that the Patriots had a proven commodity in Brady, as he played most of the season after Bledsoe was hurt. In Buffalo, we're just handing the reigns over to the new guy without having any idea of how well he plays. If Brady would've turned out to be average, Bledsoe would probably still be playing in NE. That would be why the article didn't say, "Everyone in the Bills locker room..." CW

There were a couple of articles that said many in the Bills locker room aren't sure that starting a young QB is the way to go after a 9-7 season. They didn't name any names, but it was briefly mentioned at the bottom of an article. CW

I can't find the post right now, but one poster gave a possible list of seven teams that were potentially interested in DB. That's a bunch. I think four of them were: Baltimore Cleveland Dallas Miami Can't remember the other three, but that's a bunch. CW -

Please show me *ONE* article that states the offense was "dumbed down for Drew." The way I remember it (and I could be wrong, so show me the article) is that Gilbride had one of the most complex offenses in the league and that we simplified that, not because Drew was stupid, but because there were 500 hot reads that everyone had to make and all of the players had to make the same read or the play would blow up. Nowhere did I read, "We only have 6 plays because our QB is an idiot who can't run more than those 6." CW -

Where was I wrong? That DB will be signed on with another team? I'll make a bet with YOU that he will if you want. Or that TH was injured? Because he was (maybe it wasn't severe, but it was severe enough to keep him out of the game long enough for WM to play). CW -

Willing to place another bet that, if DB is indeed cut, that he'll wind up signing on with another team? (I'm using you as my retirement plan! ) CW -

How can you say WM didn't take the job due to injury? TH started the season. TH got hurt. WM played... very well. TH never got to start again. Hell, even TH is saying the job was taken from him! And why would DB threaten to retire when there's a bunch of teams who will sign him? That doesn't make any sense. I feel like I'm reading a Bizarro comic strip or something. CW -

McGahee didn't go into camp as the number 1 guy last year, he took the job due to injury. Completely different than the DB/JPL issue, where JPL is (if rumors are true) being handed the job without proving anything on the field first. CW -
Ummm, how did anyone get shafted? The webpage clearly says that it's a rumor... Granted it's gathering steam, but it's no different than the other half dozen sites that have "reported" the same thing. CW

What's wrong with the numbers their last two years? The Met only held 14,000.... '90-'91 was (from what I've read on USENET) when the owners were trying to force the city to build a new stadium and were putting a crappy product on the ice. After the '91 season, they were selling out with an average of nearly 14,000. CW

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/rec.sp...b76762bad234a78 or better yet: http://tinyurl.com/5bkcd From what I've gathered reading several reports from the time, attendance was low because the team sucked (however low = 8000 and the stadium only held 14,000).. However, it sounds like the owners were doing a lot of it themselves by putting an inferior product on the ice and demanding a new stadium. Ask the Twins and Vikes -- Minnesotans do NOT support new stadiums; they expect the owners to fork over most of the money for the arenas (although a new stadium for the Gophers would probably go through because they're a college team). Can you show me an example where the starting QB, coming off of a winning season, goes into camp and loses his job to a 2nd year player? I don't think you can (but feel free to prove me wrong ). CW -

You don't want to take your starting QB and then demote him after training camp. Not a good way to build team morale. CW -
I think one is counsiling, two is a 4-game suspension, 3 is a one-year suspension. CW
