  1. As I said before, stats do not live in a vacuum. On a whim, I decided to take Dante Culpepper's stats over the last three years (same as Bledsoe). Guess what? Against "good" teams (as defined in the article), Culpepper is 2-6 and 0-3 this year (even though they made the playoffs). Apparantly Culpepper is nearly as bad as Bledsoe is, yet this year, a lot of people were saying what a great QB he is, despite his high sack and fumble numbers and his low win percentage against "good" teams. It appeared to be even worse if you DID look at games vs 10-6 teams (ie: loss to GB twice this year, but did win one in the playoffs). And so others can doublecheck my work for errors: 2002: Losses to GB and TB, win vs GB 2003: Loss to STL, win vs KC 2004: Losses to Phi (twice) and Indy Go figure. CW
  2. Easy. 10 is not greater than 10. You (and the article) were pointing at victories against teams with MORE than 10 wins. And again, I'm mainly pointing out that "journalists" nowadays seem to print whatever they want and don't really care about checking their facts first. CW
  3. What was wrong with it? Besides the fact that the numbers were wrong? CW
  4. Nice of you to comment on what Darin wrote, even though it too was wrong. CW
  5. I'm assuming by 2001: 0-4 you really mean 2002? Record against teams with more than 10 wins: 2002: 0-2 2003: 1-5 2004: 0-3 I count 1-10 vs teams with more than 10 wins. I never said the record was good, but you'd think that if someone is being PAID to write an article, and then they start spewing things out as "facts" that they'd at least do their research and get it right... I've always said that stats in a vacuum don't mean much. It'd make much more sense to take a look at several other QBs (who aren't named Brady) and see what their win/loss record looks like against the "good" or "playoff" teams. Culpepper, for example. Or maybe McNair, or Breese. I don't have time this afternoon, but if nobody else does it, I might look it up tonight. CW
  6. Let's say he retires after this year in Dallas. Who else, aside from Favre, is in front of him in line? I can't think of anyone personally, but am I missing someone? CW
  7. Oh look, more lies, just like the "Buffalo passed 175,855 straight times on 3rd and 2 or less." Show me the 14 games that we played against teams that were better than 10-5-1. Bet you won't come close to 14. CW

  9. I guess I havn't been making myself clear. I'm not complaining about the CURRENT state of the industry. I'm complaining about the future DIRECTION of the industry. Yes, I realize that I can buy a CD today. However, the RIAA would love to stop selling CDs and force consumers to only buy DRM-laden music (and the same with the MPAA and movies and also software companies). That's what I (and others) are protesting - the future. And again, that's what Cuban was talking about as well: CW
  10. And where did I say that everything should be free? I just said that, once I buy something, I should be able to use it any way I see fit for my own fair use -- I should be able to listen to any music on any device I own. I should be able to watch any movie on any device I own. I'm not in favor of giving the things away for free and have never said that. Scott quoted the "everything should be free" thing from slashdot, and I said I said I'm not in favor of that. CW
  11. I don't need customer service for the 8-Track player, because I had the ability (and legal right) to copy the songs from that 8-Track player to a cassette if I wanted. And from the cassette to a CD if I wanted. No such luck if the RIAA gets its wish. The same holds true for the vinyl album on a dashboard - I should be able to make a backup of the album in case that happens. And when vinyl was big, I DID have that right. Back to the 8-Track player vs Divx players. Divx was around for less than a year before it was discontinued. Two or three years after it was released, the media was worthless. With 8-Track players, as long as your player didn't break down (or you can fix it), you can still use the players. Heck, my parents still have a player and several tapes in their basement that work. And again, the piracy portion doesn't even enter into it. You will ALWAYS be able to (illegally) get around copy protection. Funny how Mark Cuban, a self-made billionaire who made his money making CONTENT doesn't seem to agree with your arguments that this is all about piracy. Let me ask you this - were you against the VCR as well because I could make a copies of programs with it? This really is just the Betamax case all over again. CW
  12. Can you play any of those Circuit City Divx movies you bought years ago? Nope. Maybe not the exact same concept as time-expire business model, but yet another pitfall with the DRM that the big corps are trying to force on consumers. What's to say the same thing won't happen with a DRM-laden movie/song/book/etc that I buy? Company that runs the DRM goes out of business, and now nobody can use the product anymore. Yet another in a long list of reasons why it's bad bad bad. CW
  13. At least it's good to see that a billionaire agrees with me: http://www.blogmaverick.com/entry/1234000230037801/ Mark Cuban is funding the battle between Grokster and MGM. And guess what? He's a content owner. Good to see someone who isn't afraid of technology, isn't trying to limit consumer's ability to use the content he creates. CW
  14. Maybe the goal is to help Pakistan, piss off India, wait for Pakistan to nuke India, and watch all of the outsourced IT jobs come back into the US, thus helping our economy? CW
  15. Shouldn't these codes be sent to SDS via PM? Someone could sneak in and use the code before he does. CW
  16. And again, Bledsoe was sacked less per game than Brady was, once we put WM in the game. I can also guarantee that Losman will lose "big games" because the definition of that around here is "Superbowl." Unrealistic, but that's the definition I've been given. CW
  17. No, injury. Fact is, most QBs don't last a full 16 games. DB does, and Favre does, but not many others. CW
  18. I don't think Losman will play all 16 games. CW
  19. You're supposed to use this smily when saying Arrrgh! I think I've hijacked the thread... I really don't want to be at work anymore and I'm getting bored waiting to leave Sorry! CW
  20. You didn't need to cut the article down; it was informative. It just seems like nobody likes posting links anymore is all. CW
  21. It's more to keep the thread smaller (less scrolling) and to protect copyright... CW
  22. Unless (or especially if?) you know the exact price where their commision comes from and offer a price where they get no commission at all. Then they get pissy and kick you out of the store. (see my previous post in this thread) CW
  23. Very cool site! I lived there for the first 18 years of my life, and that site has a lot of information that I hadn't even heard of! Thanks. CW
  24. Don't underestimate the art of negotiation! You don't have to pay sticker price on jewelry. (technically, you don't need to pay sticker price for anything; no harm in asking!) CW
