Worries about the O-line are unfounded
Fezmid replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
!!!!!REVISIONIST HISTORY ALERT!!!!! Everyone in the Bills front office, along with Drew himself, has said that the Bills wanted Bledsoe to go into camp as the #2 QB and help tutor JPL along. Bledsoe didn't want to be a backup, so requested to be released and the Bills granted that. Why did they grant it for Bledsoe and not Travis? Simple - Travis isn't impacting the cap much at all, while Bledsoe was. The Bills would've had to do some contract shuffling to keep DB on the roster (which they were ready to do), but since he didn't want to be the backup, they figured why waste the time and affect the cap in the future. So MM and TD didn't cut Drew because of his performance (at least not directly), but rather because DB didn't want to be here and it would've cost too much to keep him as a disgruntled backup. Yes, if he took us to the playoffs or Superbowl, he'd probably still be the starter and we wouldn't be discussing this. But that doesn't mean he was cut because he didn't make the playoffs. I'd also say that they cut him (instead of trying to trade) because he's a classy established veteran (as opposed to TH) but that'd be pure speculation. CW -
You should definately rent it at the very least. Buying (and sharing with friends) is even better CW

It's not just throwing motion, it's also his footwork; apparantly he doesn't set properly. Last I checked, Rivers wasn't a good QB in the league yet. CW

Why don't you ask Peerless Price if that's true? Or better yet, Larry Centers. CW -
WRONG! The QB *AND* receiver need to identify the blitz and get into position to make the play. On numerous occasions Bledsoe identified the blitz, but the receiver was streaking down the field instead of cutting his route short. On numerous occasions, Bledsoe threw to the receiver who wasn't even expecting the ball because HE didn't identify the blitz. Yes, on numerous occasions the QB missed the blitz as well. But it's NOT all on the QB. Neither can Steve's grandmother, right? CW

The other reason he wasn't a top-10 pick is because he needs to work on his mechanics. It was reported that he doesn't set properly, doesn't throw properly, and needs some work there. Here's an example: http://www.packersnews.com/archives/news/d..._15751564.shtml and another: http://wagerstreet.com/btl/btl.html?id=21&...ecd901fc4ed0644 Also, here's a list of his negatives according to TSN: Wow, sounds like everything people said Bledsoe did, except for the cocky part. http://tsn.ca/nfl/teams/player_bio.asp?pla...314&hubname=BUF Again, not saying he won't be good, not saying he won't be an improvement. However I still believe that saying he definately will be an improvement, that it's not hard to improve upon what we've had in the past, etc, is pure folly. CW

I believe you are correct. CW

Unbelievable; yet more revisionist history Manning throws 1.07 INTs per game. Bledsoe throws 1.05 INTs per game. Culpepper throws 1.00 INTs per game. Kurt Warner (whom people wanted as the starting QB for Buffalo) throws 1.10 INTs per game. Our very own Jim Kelly threw 1.09 INts per game. And before someone says "He threw too many in Buffalo," I'll point out that he threw 0.90 INTs per game during his time here. There are defiantely some QBs who have thrown less (yes, Brady is one of them), but he by no means throws "too many interceptions." CW

I didn't watch yesterday's episode, so maybe they clarified. However, the first time it happened I couldn't quite understand what the person on the radio was saying so I turned on closed captioning, and it said that the radio said, "There are no survivors of Oceonic Flight 812." (not, "No, WE are the survivors....") As I said, maybe that was clarified yesterday but according to closed captioning, that's not what was said. CW

Firefly was the TV show. Serenity is the movie. Have you seen the TV show? If not, I'd recommend buying it from Amazon, or renting it from Blockbuster/Netflix. VERY good writing excellent characterization and story development. CW

Just finished watching it - WOW that looks good! Gorram Fox and their stupid executives who don't know good TV when they see it. CW

My guess is that it was all verbal. CW

[OT] Pretzels flavored like...
Fezmid replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually had some potato chips flavored like "Buffalo Wings" and they tasted really good. Looking at the ingrediants, chicken was even an ingredient. I got 'em at a Super Target, and I think it was the Target brand, but I'm not 100% sure. CW -
Not everyone is well aware, or people wouldn't be saying things like, "There's no way he can be worse than our previous quarterback." Try to contradict that, and people flame ya. CW

I've stopped even trying to explain this to people anymore. Not going to change anyone's mind. CW

I'm going to have to watch it today... I held out for a whole 24 hours, can't do it until September. I thought about doing a roadtrip next week to see the advanced screening in Chicago, but it was already sold out this morning. CW

I'm sure that's not it. He probably freaked out, thus all of his muscles clenched. CW

It's a completely new story, although they apparantly will fill in a lot of information from the original series so that you don't have to watch the show first. Rumor is that we'll learn a bit about Book's background as well. I thought about going to Chicago for the weekend to see the advanced screening, but the tickets are already sold out CW

For fantasy football, what Bills' players would
Fezmid replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know that I'd take any Bills, except for the defense... Too many question marks IMHO. CW -
Gotta love any show that has lines like this: Zoe: "Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing?" Book: "Very specific. But it gets rather fuzzy in the area of kneecaps." or: Book: “What are we up to, sweetheart?” River: “Fixing your Bible.” Book: “I um... what?” River: “Bible's broken. Contradictions, false logistics. It doesn't make sense. River: "Noah's Ark is a problem.” Book: “Really?” River: “We'll have to call it early quantum state phenomenon. Only way to fit 5000 species of mammal on the same boat!” Book: “Give me that!” Shiny! CW

HGTTG = Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The Serenity trailer will probably play before that movie this Friday. You can watch it now at http://www.serenitymovie.com Basically it's one of the best TV series ever, but Fox screwed it up (they aired the two hour pilot as the last episode, aired the other episodes out of order, pre-empted it multiple times for baseball, etc, etc). Universal bought the rights to make it into a movie, and it will be released in September. If it does well, they'll turn it into a trilogy. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...&s=dvd&n=507846 (note the 5 star rating at Amazon with nearly 1,300 reviews) Check it out -- the series is cheap (only $35), and it's going to be an awesome movie!
