I know at least one TSW member who is buying a plane ticket to China! "The Haoduo Panda Hotel is the world’s first panda-themed hotel, where everything from the decor to the staff are pandas (well, people in panda costumes)." http://www.lostatemi...st-panda-hotel/

Yeah, that's creepy. If it's random, how did the person know that's their favorite restaurant...?

You don't know what you're missing! It's from Monty Python's Flying Circus. Pooj posted the Youtube link - it's awesome.

No no no. They're RESTING. Pining for the fjords.

A few hours here and there, sure. But this is up to 40% of the lanes over the weekend -- I can't picture how that's going to be cheaper.

So yesterday I read this article from USA Today: http://www.usatoday....delays/1962837/ Your typical, "OMG, the sky is falling because of the budget cuts!!! Passengers will be waiting hours to get through lines!" But then I read this: So based on this, it sounds like taxpayers are paying overtime constantly. Why aren't we limiting these employees to 40 hours a week and hiring MORE employees to avoid overtime, thus cutting cost? That'd have the added benefit of lowering unemployment too! Overtime should be used for temporary staffing issues -- not a permanent solution. That's one of the first things my wife had to manage at her company in order to cut costs - why aren't we doing that in the government? (that's probably a rhetorical question).

Yeah, but the only reason they got first was because of the express pass. They won't be so lucky now. Too bad, I liked them, but they have practically no shot.

Fez. Hey, it worked for the guy on That 70s Show.

Yup, that's my video. Thanks for the compliment, really appreciate it! The "eerie" parts with the ice in the water is near Hubbard Glacier. Our ship was supposed to get close to it, which would've been amazing... Unfortunately someone on the ship had a heart attack, so we had to leave so the coast guard could pick him up and get him treatment... And even more unfortunately, we heard that he passed away anyway.

Those dogs are awesome. When in Alaska almost 10 years ago, I took a helicopter to a glacier where they train for the Iditarod race, and it was such an awesome experience. Only way on or off was by helicopter, no phone, no internet, no communication at all except for a sat phone for emergencies. It was beautiful, the dogs were awesome, and it was just a great experience overall. Here's a video I did back then - the Alaska part starts around the 2:50 mark.

Packer fan finally gets season tickets....
Fezmid replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It doesn't take two hours to drive between those cities -- it's more like 1.5 hours. You also didn't include Outagamie county (the Appleton, WI area), which is less than 30 minutes away and an easy commute (my in-laws used to live in Green Bay and worked in Appleton), so that adds a couple hundred thousand more people. Yes, Green Bay is a small market, but it's not exactly apples to apples comparing it to Buffalo using the stats that you provided. Plus, the area has a better economy. The Packers are successful at regionalizing the team - something the Bills are trying to do. -

Milwaukee is a huge city, and is only about 1.5 hours away from Green Bay -- making it an easy drive. That population isn't factored into your post, Drewgetz. -
Stuff That Seems to Work for Everyone but YoU

Amped Wireless makes some great products. I'd recommend looking at them (I've done some reviews for their products on Neowin). I also have a "BearExtender" to review. ( http://store.bearextender.com/products/bearextender-for-pc ). It's supposed to increase WiFi range, but I haven't had time to test it yet. It's for an individual device though. -
Wisconsin cuts taxes, paper says "Most goes to the top 20%"
Fezmid replied to Fezmid's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Another article about the topic: http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/higher-earners-get-much-of-the-scott-walker-cut-but-pay-more-in-income-tax-2v8ufk0-193395391.html "Unfortunately, Walker's plan seems to amount to giving a minuscule handout to those already able to make ends meet, while shortchanging our citizens who are struggling to get by," Pasch said. -
Yeah, I think that was lost in one of the great crashes.

Nope, I'm actually a UNIX guy. But people saying "Win8 sucks!!!!! I like Win7 much better!!!" are just focusing on the start screen and ignoring the fact that they can use it exactly the same way they use Win7 if they want. Like I said earlier, it's not worth paying money to upgrade to Win8 (if you don't have a touch screen), but if you're starting from scratch, it's just silly to stick with 7 at this point. MSFT is still the dominant player in the desktop arena, and they are also #1 in consoles. They're changing their entire product line to focus on mobile. Between the Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets, Windows Phone, and Windows 8 (and I suspect the upcoming Durango as well), they're creating a single environment and that could be huge going forward. I can see a time when you'll be able to link these devices up and use them seamlessly. They already have a Windows Phone 8 app for Windows 8 ( http://www.neowin.ne...ndows-8-updated ). Throw in Xbox connectivity to all of the devices (Xbox SmartGlass is a good first start), and you can see easily see how MSFT could dominate the market (and they still own the vast majority of the desktop market, even if it isn't the sexiest of markets anymore). Will they? Don't know. But they're well positioned and have a lot of money and current marketshare, so anything's possible. They're not the old, plodding Microsoft anymore. The one thing you can't dispute is that they're making changes and not copying anyone at this point.

CBS has a ton of good non-CSI-type shows. They have a lot of good comedies, Amazing Race, Good Wife, Mentalist (ok, that's kind of a CSI-like show I suppose), etc.

All these complaints about people at the store remind me why I do most of my shopping online...

I loved it, and found it better than Asylum. Not to say I didn't like the second season - I did! - but the first was better. I can't wait to see what season 3 will be like.
