  1. I think I became considerably more stupid as a result of reading this rather unproductive post. Does anyone think before they post?
  2. our first priority should be to get this year's Haloti Ngata. Our second is probably an offensive guard, and I think our third might possibly be a linebacker. We're in pretty good shape. I think a nice draft couple of free agents and more than anything sign clements and we'll be very good next year.
  3. With each day I think we have less and less influence on what happens there. I suspect that the resolution will be something worked out by the Iranians, Syrians and Saudis, and we we will be an afterthought. If that doesn't happen, I think we are going to see a regional war that involves five or six countries and will last for decades. Not a pretty resolution to a mess that should have never happened in the first place.
  4. Of course it does. Probably somewhat less than in the past, but I suspect it is cyclical. In the right set of circumstances it will ebb and flow.
  5. it is really tragic to think of all of those men and women dying over there for such a foolishly entered and incompetently led misadventure. The irony is that the big winners are going to be Syria and Iran
  6. I wonder if we should be considering that we might need the manpower. Assume the Iranians or Syrians enter the war in Iraq, or North Korea invades the South. Or assume Iran develops nuclear bombs. Do we have the ability to raise a force of a million or more in a reasonable time frame to deal with such contingencies? Maybe national service isn't such a bad idea. I mean tan from a national security point of view rather than "spreading the obligation."
