Dude, Rosa Parks got arrested for that. How are you empowered sitting in jail?
-
1) No, its just that the right wing in this country isn't. See Terri Schivo incident if you need further proof. 2) Maybe because you misread what I wrote. The guy said he was fair, which is what I thought was such a joke 3) He's a major opinion maker on the right. And since John McCain was repeating his "You can't trust the media" mantra and got made to look like a complete fool we should look at the right wing media for what it is, namely propaganda.
-
Let me expand then. A "Conservative slant" is not my problem. I do respect our free press, though they have problems. I think the only reason people think CNN, NBC or whatever is "Liberal" is because they want to completely avoid reality. The "Conservative Slant" is nothing more than outlandish bafoonery. Rush doesn''t have a "slant," he has an agenda. There is a difference. The right wing media is purely political. It's a farce, a lie, its pure propaganda. Iraq IS a fv##en disaster and the right wing media deals with this by simply saying you can't believe the media. I mean WTF??? The MSM may have its problems, but it isn't some liberal entity that is out to get Conservatives. Do I listen to a lot of right wing radio? No. But even the small amount of time I have it on there are so many lies, distortions, false arguments and pure humbug that I really do blow a fuse over it. Then I see people who are intelligent, have decent jobs and all repeating the same absolute crap and I see that the propaganda works. So McCain comes along to "prove" the media all wrong and ends up looking like a fool. Serves him right, crazy old nut.
-
Ya, whatever! I guess McCain shouldn't be running around saying the press is "misrepresenting" the violence in Iraq if his insane ass can't back it up. Of course you believe McCain and Cheney more than the media, so there is no helping you. I thought about you yesterday as I was driving home. Had Rush Limbo on for a second and he was talking about that stupid Duke University case. Said its proof why you can't believe ANYTHING you read in the papers. Said the case was a boost to the war effort because it exposed the giant lie that is our media. I guess Rush is the TRUTH. Rush, Cheney and the madman McCain, the truth tellers. That's how screwed up the right wing is today, they want people to believe the press is out to get them. Only believe Rush, Pat Robertson, Hannity and Jerry Falwell! Oh ya, and Dick. There is a vast liberal media conspiracy to destroy America from within. The press is a Fifth Column out to wreck Christmas and the family. And they hate the military, too. I talk to so many Conservatives that believe all this sh--. Had a guy tell me the other day he likes O'Reilly because he's fair. *This rant is now over*

You are probably right. I'm not the one who wants to simply lable people "partisans." I generally like to argue the issues instead. -

What about Newt? Ya, the GOP race is real interesting. The candidates all look so flawed, but any one of them can beat the Hillary, IMO. Rudy might have gained fame from 9-11 but I hope there will be more focus on what he did as a prosecuters: http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/115...ses_Glance.html The guy just seems to have real smarts -

I think you hit the nail on the head. There just isn't anything funny about Bush. A dangerously stupid man who believes the right wing propaganda that is being spewed constantly on Fox -

What? No one bashed Bush yet? Figueres! Bush would let you drown, just like he left al-Zarquari sit safe and pretty in the Northern part of Iraq--the part Saddam didn't control--before invading so he could have an excuse to invade. Bush would then claim Iran was behind you being pulled out to sea and left to die. Most experts would say this was not true, but Fox 'news' would take up the crusade, O'Reilly would be screaming, Hannity would be yelling and Alan Colmes would say, "yes but Democrats think appeasement works, and you have to give them credit for at least being consistent." Gotta love the 'balance' in the fascist propaganda network! Cheney would appear on Rush Limbaugh and say that your drowning was not in vein, and that Democrats had better get out of the way. It says a lot about this White House that they have to go to Limbo and O'Reilly to be interviewed. Rush would agree and call Democrats girlie-men for not wanting to use up the troops in a new war. They enlisted, didn't they? Hell, more young men will die in traffic accidents in the next three centuries than will die in a twenty occupation of Iran. Rick Santorium would take a break from protesting at an abortion clinic to give a speech on the need to attack Iran, and then finish with a word about how all life is sacred and abortion is wrong. The Israeli Knesset will then award him the medal of freedom. -
Cheney Is Still Lying

I remember when they finally backed Cheney into a corner on that supposed Prague meeting in which there was no evidence, he said something like "You can never prove the meeting didn't happen." Yes, no proof of the meeting, therefore you can't prove it never happened! Brilliant! My prediction: Cheney will have his own show on Fox by 2010 -

It was a 'news' report. Straight up political news from Fox. "Fair and Balanced!"

The Associated Press reports that Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday appeared on a conservative radio show and reiterated his stance that Al Qaeda had links to Iraq before the US invasion in 2003. "[Abu Musab al-Zarqawi] took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq, organized the al-Qaeda operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June," Cheney told radio host Rush Limbaugh during an interview. "As I say, they were present before we invaded Iraq." The Washington Post, however, reports that Mr. Zarqawi only publicly allied himself with Al Qaeda after the US invasion, and until then "was not then an al-Qaeda member but was the leader of an unaffiliated terrorist group who occasionally associated with al-Qaeda adherents, according to several intelligence analysts." It should be noted the WP gots its info from the Pentagon: http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0406/p99s01-duts.html

OK So that Presidential race...
molson_golden2002 replied to olivier in france's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The only problem is, that the majority of Americans agree with the Democrats on the most important issues of the day. The Republicans have to first appeal to their savage base and THEN to the saner sections of the nation. Democrats will not have to do so many twists, turns, somersaults and flip flopping as Republicans will. That's why, IMO, the Republican race is so much more fun to watch. -

As I waited for a sub in this sub shop, Fox 'News' was on. They said the Iranians Bush kidnapped were taken from the battlefield. What a joke Fox is!

Oh my, the USA Today has weighed in. Thank God! The one thing I hope Pelosi leanred from the trip is not to trust what leaders from a certain little trouble making coutry tell her in private. I would not be surprised if they set her up for failure. Funny how the American press takes Olmert's words at face value. Bias?
