What the first question you ask prospective coaches?

If the Bills hire a DC not named Schwartz to be HC...
deadbeef replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Schwartz becomes HC he won't be inheriting a 0-16 team like he did in Detroit. We definitely need a top DC or defensive coach. That was the problem under Gaily. Monkeys like Wannstedt couldn't get good production out the D. Without an elite quarterback the secret to winning is tough D, and run the ball. The recipe for 2015 should be simple: don't screw up the D, get a good O-line coach and fix the line, draft a RB to compete with the others. A good offensive coach or Schwartz with a good OC and staff... I wonder how many bills have been in the same D system under the same DC for consecutive years. I think its only Kyle Williams. Maybe McKelvin. Thats not good. They should improve a lot with consistency. -
Do you want the new stadium domed or open field?
deadbeef replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The lucas stadium looks nice. Its no fun at the ralph in december on cold aluminum benches. Any way to keep the rain off the fans and warm them up a bit is good. I went to one game in the dome in St Louis and sterile is right. It was downright gloomy inside except for the field. -
I don't know what constitutes a leaping penalty these days but when I watched mario block a kick he never left the ground. He penetrated and stuck up his hand. I thought you can jump only if you are not moving forward... If you got a big dude, 7-2 350lbs, I think he could be put to multiple uses. Jason Peters used to play special teams early in his career and no one wanted to block him on a kick return. Like a running cannon ball. Refrigerator Perry had his uses as a goal line specialist. If a 350lb dude dives over the pile at the goal line is a 250lb backer going to slow him down?

Whaley will head coaching search
deadbeef replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think moving forward with Whaley as GM is the obvious coice; let him pick the next coach. Whaley has done a lot of good things. If it works out you keep everyone. If it doesn't work out after a few years you either get a new coach or clean house. Things have improved greatly in the last few years, continuity is a good thing. If we want more losing seasons then constantly change the coach, coordinators, and GM like we have done for the last decade. In the last decade the Bills have had 5 GMs 5 Head coaches (soon to be 6) 6 Offensive Coordinators (soon to be 7) 6 Defensive Coordinators -
Predict the starting quarterback for week 1..
deadbeef replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll go on a limb and say Sam Bradford. But it could be EJ. Drew Brees sucked his first 2 years as a starer so they drafted Rivers. Brees turned it around the next season. It could work out similarly for EJ but who knows. -
One play that really caught my attention today was Fred Jacksons big reception in the 1st quarter. Instead of running out of bounds to avoid contact at the end of the play he lowered his shoulder and gave the defender a brutal blow before going out of bounds. Squish the Fish!

I've thought about Byrd's ints as being just lucky but you don't get 9 in a season by luck. Maybe 2. He got more in his first month starting than Whitner has in his 4-year career. Skill tells you how to position yourself to make plays when balls are misthrown but still be in position to make the tackle/breakup if its not. Byrd also had a good number of passes defensed so he is doing exceptionally well positioning himself for both the int and the pass. That makes an elite playmaker...

Jairus Byrd finalist for Pepsi Rookie of the Year Award
deadbeef replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
all the stats for other players are ordinary for a quality starter. 9 ints is an elite stat for anyone. If you lead the league in rushing, receiving, tds, sacks, or ints you deserve ROY. Punt return yards don't count for squat. -
Mike Martz is the BEST available Head Coach
deadbeef replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given how mike Martz' offensive coordinator did here (fairchild), I say no way on earth do you consider him. -
I'd pick a less obvious one: 2002 Rams even though their record didn't turn out great due to overconfidence and warner/faulk having problems. They had a great defense and their offense was arguably the best ever assembled. The 99 rams were great too. The 02 rams had a QB and WRs that were arguably just as good as the 2007 patriots plus marshall faulk. I recall the defense was better than the 2007 patriots too.

lynch case to be solved within days
deadbeef replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe pedestrians only have right of way in crosswalks when the walk signal is blinking. Pedestrians always have right of way at crosswalks that are not at traffic lights (crosswalks away from lights are very rare). So unless he ran a red light or made a right turn at a red light he probably had right of way. -

You have to max out your auto insurance and homeowners insurance to get an umbrella policy. I think you need at least 300K in medical coverage and 300K in property damage coverage on your auto liability insurance. -
I noticed that the bookshelves in mcgahees house contain no books. is anyone else not surprised? BTW, why are you folks complaining about property taxes? They are much higher here in rochester.

I predict Chad Henne will be inroduced to the ralph with the same reception as Lemon and Beck I was at both games, cleo lemon's debut for the dolphins was at the ralph during a glorious 21-0 humiliation for the dolphins. Their first shutout in like a decade. Beck appeared at the ralph for his fourth appearance and the bills ended his career. 2 attempts and 3 sacks I think the bills also ended Culpeppers career. 7 sacks in one game. I'll look forward to Henne's introduction to the ralph in Fu%&ing 2009 You can't trust the Fu%&ing canadiens to ruin a QB.

agreed. teams kick away from mcgee quite a bit. put em both back there and make them kick it out of bounds or squib kick it. I'll take starting at the 40.

What did Mayock have to say about our draft?

everyone in round 3 has high bust potential. But they also have potential to be solid players. -
SEEMING delay in the announcement of the 2008 schedule

Malcolm Kelly on Sirius this morning
deadbeef replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe Larry Fitzgerald ran a 4.6 and he was a top 5 pick. He's worked out. I think boldin is even slower. -
I agree with that. Hopefully the new OC won't run the ball with 10 in the box either.

Or is Oakland so dysfunctional that it ruins good players. Moss stunk, then was a stud in NE. I suspect Gallery and Huff would be studs in NE too.

Does anyone think cleveland would swap 1st round picks for Willis?

Pro Bowler/High motor DE Aaron Schobel
deadbeef replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And more importantly the bills have more pro bowlers than any other AFC east team. Does this make them the most talented in the AFC east? Fletcher should have gone and Evans and Clements can't be too far out either.
