I think they switch from an offensive to a defensive player each year. I think it would be a defensive guy in 2008. Urlacher?

I could see the Bills actually pull off the upset against San Diego and then lose either the last game to make it that much more painful or lose a game we would expect them to win in Tenessee

Back on board the Jp bandwagon!

Hey, at least he's being honest -
It would just be something to actually have a team on the field that is playoff worthy. Were definitely not there yet, but I think we have some pieces to the puzzle. Like you say, a big offseason is important. But that may not necessarily mean signing free agents like crazy, we need the best draft we've had in a long time. If we get any free agents, they should be offensive line our d-line.

I thought the same thing. I don't think he necessarily threw it directly to the wrong guy on purpose, I just think the sun messed up where he thought his guy was.
-
Also, he did have a great game against the Jets. While he wasn't able to lead his team to a victory then he did now which shows some growth. I just think all JP needs is to have more throws per game. What did he have against the Pack, 13 attempts. Brees had 52 today and threw for 510! While you will definitely get more picks throwing more, i just think JP's talent needs to be unharnessed instead of controlled.

Instead of being negative, maybe you could take a look at how well the Texans have been playing lately and how well Carr has been playing. Yah, we beat a 3-6 team. A win is a win. Instead of people hoping the Bills will lose so they can draft in the top 5, we should realize that this team has many young players who need to learn how to win and have that feeling of making the crucial plays at the right times.

That doesn't make too much sense because they were let go from their teams because they weren't able to perform. -
those stats are also interesting because JP's best game of the year passing came against those same Jets that Rex is facing and had -1 yards passing against in the first half.

Tight end promoted from practice squad

I don't know. As much as I like Willis, his back up seems to run harder. I won't say Thomas runs with more heart because it's hard to tell, but the A-train gives it his all on every run. He earned his yards today. I was actually glad he was starting today over Willis because I thought we would have a better chance to win with him.

Sounds about right, but our d-line gets run over every week and we are not getting as many sacks as a "speed" defense should. We were better off with the old scheme of clogging up the middle with about 700 pounds of Williams and Adams. This speed philosophy is not working for us. Also, we're gonna need a CB when Clements leaves unless someone else can step in.

Losman avoids sacks no better than Bledsoe

This season JP seems to be trying to stay in the pocket much more. I don't know if anyone else noticed this. Last year he seemed to scramble and get out of the pocket every pass play. But this year he seems to be trying to step up throw in a pocket that is being pushed right back in his face. I think this is the result of the coaches trying to get him to be a pocket passer and progress in that area. The thing is, our o-line is so bad that this is having a negative affect on him and the rest of the offense. -
Exactly. Some teams are winners, some are losers, plain and simple. The sabres can be missing key guys, be playing sloppy and still win the game. (truly is unbelievable how they can come back from mulitiple goal deficits so fast and then finish) The Bills just seem to have this aura emanating from them that they will not get the job done when it counts. The red zone performance today was unreal. 11 plays for negative 8 yards. That is truly astounding. Also Sickening.

You don't have a heart-o-meter? Their great.

You can honestly say, if you've watched all the Bills games since then, that Clements has put in an honest game's effort since our run at the end of the season two years ago. He knows he's not gonna be here. Honestly, I used to like Nate, but he's all about the money, and we're gonna see that this offseason. But there is no argument that he has underperformed the last two seasons. Nate is also consistently burned by Mr. Brady and company when we need him to step up
-
I was talking about this season, I also agree that its not all about INT's and flashy plays. I think that is ALL Clements wants to be about. Last week against the Packers was the first tackle I've seen him have in about a year(I know that's not accurate but Clements doesn't seem to give a SH*T anymore.) I know he's talented but speaking of last year wasn't he covering Chambers in the Miami game where he gave up, oh 200+ and the game winning TD?

If Tampa has a Shaky o-line then ours has Tourette's syndrome

I think that's when Manning ended up calling Vanderjagt a drunk or something
-
Believe me, I'm not wearing rose-colored glasses, they are normal ones with lenses for my 20/50 vision in each eye. I'm simply saying that McGee is not bad. But I still won't concede that Clements is good. I think McGee is better, in fact. And also, it is ALL about the O-line and D-line. The skilled players are only as good the hogs in the trenches, it is an absolute fact.
-
Well, it was talked about after Manning so called "threw his o-line under the bus" after the Pittsburgh loss last year, when there were multiple blown blocking assignments leading to sacks of Manning. I don't think any of his teammates said anything, I vaguely remember the little quibble between Vanderjagt and Manning. Vanderjagt questioned Manning's leadership I think
-
Actually, it's talked about a lot, because the analysts like to try to figure out why Brady always tops Manning when it counts and the Colts offense looks and executes terribly when it counts the most.
-
It may seem like that, but in reality I believe that is not remotely true. Mcgee is not bad, first of all, Clements isn't all that great, and Price and Reed are good wide receivers. Mcgee is only "bad" as you say because the d-line is bad. When you are not a consistent threat to sack the QB and cannot stop the run, it is going to put tremendous pressure on the secondary. They are doing quite well with the D-line in front of them. Why was everyone touting Mcgee as the next best thing when we were ranked #2 as a Defense? Because the D-line was playing its role. It's all too easy to blame the Cornerback who is playing the hardest position in the game. Secondly, Reed has improved tremendously, having shown excellent hands this year and being a dependable blocker. Price is still good. He makes the plays when he's called upon. You and many others only think they are bad because the WR's have no time to run their routes and let them develop before JP is already been sacked, hurried, flushed out of the pocket, or has thrown to someone five yards from the line.

Actually, lack of true leadership is the main criticism of Manning
