  1. The thing about this is, it's hard at this point to view Jason Peters as anything other than a star tackle (albeit he's had injuries and most of us think he's greedy and lazy) but back when the Bills put him on the PS, they didn't have to sneak him on at all. He was a MAJOR project, a shot in the dark. This is what makes the fact that JP wasn't our anchor at LT for his entire career all the more disappointing. Obviously he had raw talent, but the Bills organization developed and shaped him. We made him what he was. We gave him a shot. Definitely too bad about Da'Rick, but I think it's quite a different situation than JP.
  2. Haha first thought I had after reading the OP's post.
  3. I get where you're coming from, but this would stile pale in comparison to Quimet winning the US Open, by a considerable amount, imo. Don't forget that Marrone and Hackett obviously limited him because Kolb and EJ weren't options to replace him if anything were to happen. That had to have factored into that performance quite a bit. And the Skins knew that, too. I still don't think the Redskins game as a whole is an accurate gauge of this team. Even though he'll be back in October, the Gilmore injury is still the most frustrating for me.
  4. Anyone who watched the Byrd presser knows his favorite word(s)/phrase is "you know". Jeeez, he must've have said it over 50x maybe even more. Marrone says it a lot too.
  5. They were protecting him against injury. Keeping it to short passes with short drop backs or running the ball.
  6. If I'm Marrone and the Bills team leaders I'm putting a target on Wilfork's back and staying in the refs' ears all game about this a**hole. We all know what he likes to do to QB's knees.
  7. Yes. I believe Chris Mortensen's trusted sources are reporting this.
  8. It sounds funky, but I believe that is the technically correct form. Even if that's the case, I'd still go with the non-correct version just based on how it sounds.
  9. We really shouldn't read too much into yesterday, and before people say, "well we shouldn't read too much into week's 1 and 2 then", I disagree slightly. I think week's 1 and 2 are more indicative of what this team is going to be like. Yesterday was essentially a perfect clusterf**** of a storm. EJ should have been starting and was held out due to his procedure, Kolb started and it's been fairly obvious the team seems to respond better to EJ than Kolb, and the main thing...Kolb was quickly hurt (yes it appears he's made of glass but that was a freak injury. I will concede that some players are just magnets for these types of injuries and thus, are likely too fragile for the NFL) and Tuel came in. It's clear that Marrone and Hackett went into emergency mode and adjusted the offensive attack for the sole purpose of protecting their remaining healthy QB at the expense of winning the game or competing better during it. This is different than week's 1 and 2. Do I think this 2013 Bills team is going to consistently be the team from week's 1 and 2? Not necessarily, especially given the volatile nature of the sport. But I do think yesterday was simply a mixture of average play that produced poor results based on what transpired early with Kolb. I will admit the D did not have a good showing, but are we expecting perfection? Let's relax here. If everything was always perfect, the NFL wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable to follow. Enjoy the ride. And for our sanity as Bills fans, let's hope the results are much better this year.
  10. Can the OP edit the subject line? I almost had a heart attack because it cuts off right after 'CJ Spiller's'
  11. I know most people will call me crazy or think I'm delusionally optimistic, but it wouldn't shock me at all if Buffalo pushes for the top record in the AFC, probably with Houston, Denver, Baltimore, maybe Cinci. I think AFC East wil be: 1. Buffalo 10-6 to 13-3 2. New England 7-9 to 9-7 3. Miami 4-12 to 8-8 4. New York 1-15 to 5-11 The BIlls have just too much talent at this point to be ignored as a legitmate threat. Only coaches as bad as Wannstedt and Gailey (who I don't think is necessarily bad, just mediocre) could have a terrible year with this roster. I think this year things align: great coaching staff, high level of talent, solid plan of attack, somewhat weaker AFC overall.
  12. On the surface it might appear that way, or to the casual fan, but this is simply untrue
  13. Yeah, it really is amazing. I've watched a bunch of documentaries on college football and attempting to make it to the NFL. It's unbelievably difficult. We tend to act like guys who can't break into the top 53 on a roster suck, but in reality they're still ridiculously good at football.
  14. Did you think of Predator just because of that specific scene, or also because Marshawn looks exactly like Predator? Haha
  15. From what I remember of the highlights and also in looking at the stats, it seemed more like Arizona's D was responsible for the W, although Kolb has to be given some credit, too.
  16. He's been sliding pretty well. I think he got injured on the sack he had to take.
  17. It's still early, though. He needs more reps.
  18. We also have to be prepared for their run game, too. Ridley is very good, and their Oline is as well. Blount is also a good complement to Ridley.
  19. Also, Easley is looking awesome, too. I'm a bit biased on him, since I went to UConn with him, but he has the potential to be a #1 WR in the NFL. And I'm not dumb enough to say I'm expecting that to happen, but he has all the tools.
  20. I just don't think Marrone and Co. will put up with a TO or OC type of diva. They'd cut him before that and reward players like Hogan, Kaufmann, Sampson, etc
  21. I don't see how they could possibly let Rogers be exposed by putting him on the PS. I'd guess they know what he can do and they'll put him on the 53 and put guys like Kaufmann and even Hogan on the PS, and if Da'Rick just doesn't seem to get it or fails a drug test they'll drop him to the PS or cut him and bring Hogan and Kaufmann up in his place. It's more likely Hogan and Kaufmann won't be stolen from our PS over Rogers, although both those guys are playing damn well.
  22. Yeah, they're not going full out right now. They also probably want EJ to get some completions and build his confidence and get in a flow. All the practice videos show them airing it out, so I'm sure they're going to build up to that.
  23. Yeah, I agree. I think it's pretty obvious Frazer prefers Chan Gailey's preseason approach over Marrone's.
  24. Pettine said in one of his interviews that they weren't going to game plan much, but that the Bills as a team and organization were approaching the preseason games with a mindset that winning was very important to them, no matter what anyone says about preseason. I like that.
