  1. And the worst thing is that this is the SECOND time this season they've had a game without penalties. It is impossible. The NFL is becoming unwatchable
  2. I know, it's unreal. He's definitely going to get suspended for that. Seahawks are so lucky our judicial system is a joke.
  3. Unfortunately, there are just so many people who refuse to even listen about this. It was swept under the rug expertly by Goodell, and the preprogrammed answers to any cheating questions have been parroted by the 'experts' so much that you get slammed if you even broach this subject. Hopefully one day someone involved with the Pats cheating system will come out and expose it fully. Not sure what you're point is. That wasn't what I was talking about.
  4. With the salary cap, and the way today's NFL works, it is essentially impossible to maintain the level of success the Patriots have since 2001. Impossible. Look at the Ravens. Look what happens to teams that win the big one. They lose many players bc their values are inflated and they can't afford to retain them. The Pats have played in five super bowls since 2001. Yet they have what, one season under 10 wins? I honestly think one day this will be broken wide open, and could be bigger than anything in sports history with regard to cheating. I don't think Smith's comment is anything more than him feeling something in his gut. Unfortunately, he's not the most eloquent person, and he comes off sounding like an idiot/sore loser. But that doesn't mean he isn't right. But that also doesn't mean anyone should take him seriously. I just feel the Patriots should be/should've been investigated way way more regardless.
  5. No one is arguing the individual battles won/lost by the players on the field. The question is that the Patriots second half 'adjustments' are always so ridiculously on, it's hard to ignore. It puts their players in better positions to win, it's not the only reason they win. They're still good, they still have guys winning individual battles. But they routinely get outplayed in the first half and somehow storm back to win with ease with no name players against both bad/average teams and very good teams. They are absolutely still doing something along the lines of cheating, and part of what they were accused of doing back in 2007 had to do with overusing their headsets for the allotted time. As we've seen with our Bills, it's a handful of plays separating wins and losses. They Pats get the edge they need, not to mention not getting called for a single penalty in an entire game for the SECOND time this year. That is truly unbelievable.
  6. Belicheck is a stone cold cheater who showed zero remorse for what he did, and likely, is still doing. The league knew he was illegally taping opponents and specifically told him multiple times to stop before the whole Spygate thing went public. The guy doesn't give a sh*t. I think he's very intelligent and dedicated, but he has no problem pushing the envelope with rules. The fact that the Patriots have consistently been a team that is so good in the second half shows they make great adjustments. But it's how they make the adjustments that is behind his 'genius'. I guarantee they're doing the same things they've always done. Kraft is buddies with Goodell. He's not worried. I can't wait till the whole Patriot's system is finally broken wide open for the public. They're still doing the same things most likely. Ernie Adams is still with the organization. The 'wizard' of half time adjustments.
  7. You really should. Allow the child the chance to choose his or her own religion when they're old enough to understand it, don't do it for them.
  8. There's also the question of whether bringing a 1 yr old is even safe. I live near Tampa and have gone to Lightning games when the Sabres are in town, and the arena is ridiculously loud. Not necessarily the fans, but the announcer, the music, sound effects, etc. Like uncomfortably loud for me as an adult male. That can't be good for a baby's developing ear drums. I think many people are questioning you because of the safety factor and also because a 1 yr old is not going to even know what's going on, as far as enjoying the game and the experience of it all. My first Bills game was when I was 6, and I only have a few flashes of memory about it. You might be rushing this with your child, more for your benefit than his.
  9. Just curious, because I haven't been following that closely--how is Kelvin doing with the Colts? Anyone been watching him?
  10. Your case of PF would be an extreme one, to linger that long, and the ultra marathon running explains why. It is highly unlikely that Byrd's PF would require more than 8 full months of rest/treatment (and he gets the best treatment in the world as a wealthy pro athlete). I'm sorry, I could believe Byrd might still have PF if he were a runner, especially an extreme runner like yourself, but he's not. Not saying he didn't run as part of his training, but it would be nothing close to ultra marathon training, and he'd be an idiot to keep training ridiculously hard in the offseason knowing he had PF and was making it worse. I've had PF, too, I know how frustrating it can be. My brother was/is an ultra marathon runner also, and dealt with PF, and healed it quite easily. Don't get me wrong--I'm not saying Byrd is a horrible human being and is totally in the wrong and the Bills organization is totally in the right. But if you look at the facts--ie. the amount of time Byrd had to heal his PF before the 2013 season started--it's incredibly unlikely he still had serious symptoms on Sep. 8th and up until very recently.
  11. That's what I'm saying. The 8 full months Byrd had to heal his PF didn't do the trick, but the extra 6 weeks did? Ok, sure. He's made some bad decisions, along with his agent. I feel like Byrd should've been out on that field from day 1, which would've made it easier/possible for the Bills to trade him before the deadline, provided a team would take him w/o a long term deal. I hope we franchise him again. I wish someone in the media would ask him to his face "So, hey, Jairus...um...what the hell were you doing for the 8 months between the end of last season and the start of this one if not treating your Plantar Fasciitis?"
  12. Did you even read what I wrote? We all know at this time that Byrd had and played with PF last season. That means he had between January 1st and April 2nd (first day of OTA's) which is 3 full months to treat and heal his condition. So now, let's say Byrd, as a vet, didn't want to participate in the voluntary workouts and OTA's, the mandatory minicamp started June 11th. Now we're talking almost 5 1/2 months of time to heal his condition. If he was still treating it at that point, Marrone and co. would surely have no problem in Byrd missing the minicamp knowing how important a player he is, which would give Byrd nearly 7 full months to heal his PF and still be in camp on time. Ok, so since Byrd decided not to sign his franchise tender, and didn't show up until two weeks before the start of the season, he had...wait for it....just about 8 full months to heal his PF. PF, no matter how severe, can be fully treated and healed in less than half that time. Byrd is a wealthy pro athlete with access to the best trainers/doctors in the country/world. He had plenty of time to rest his feet and get them treated and healed before training camp. If his PF were so severe that it needed 9 1/2 months to heal, he would've been in a wheelchair, and likely couldn't ever play football again, and would need surgeries on both feet. It's impossible to defend Byrd about the PF excuse. It's totally fabricated, again, to reiterate, because he had ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO TREAT IT BEFORE THIS SEASON BEGAN. 8 full months.
  13. His PF, even if it were severe, should definitely have gone away between last year and the start of this year. Even if he didn't have access to the Bills trainers and facility, he's already very wealthy and easily could have gotten top treatment for his PF. There is almost no way it wouldn't have been fully healed by the start of this season if he had been treating it. He's fully making it up, having hoped for a trade by now and it was his way to stick it to management.
  14. I'm actually pretty confident Thad will do well, and I don't think they're going to approach this game as "we have to simplify it for Thad." Thad sounds like a smart guy--got his degree in 3 1/2 yrs at Duke--and his tape looks pretty solid. I could see him having a pretty darn good day, and converting quite a few 1st downs on quick read option decisions. I'm more worried about CJ's ankle and Fred's knee. CJ didn't sound like he's going to be close to 100%.
  15. This is really all that needs to be said about this thread. Sums it up perfectly. Hopefully the mods will lock this soon.
  16. You need to read the whole thread before commenting, then you wouldn't have to go through all the trouble to make posts like this. All coaches have years and years of experiences and knowledge to draw on that involve other coaches and different philosophies. I never stated that "NFL coaches have their own philosophy and don't/won't adopt other coaches philosophies". All coaches learn from other coaches. The topic of this thread is Chan Gailey. And no, I don't for one second think that Hackett and Marrone will suddenly abandon what they're doing and look to what 'worked' (however briefly) in Chan Gailey's offenses at this point in time, as people in this thread are suggesting. Or, as others are saying, take the best of Chan and combine it with the best of what they're doing. Chan the man started what, 0-8? These threads shouldn't even exist at this point. They've played three games. Gailey was the HC/OC, so it's one in the same. Good plan. Well, when you get to Brandon's stature within an NFL organization, you can hire anyone you want. Good luck with that.
  17. So what Gailey did as Bills HC was 'decent' in your opinion? Too bad Brandon didn't contact you for the GM or HC position. Sounds like you have a good idea on how to turn the Bills into a winner again. What's unbelievable is how many people don't understand that Marrone and co. have their own ways of doing things and really don't need Chan Gailey to help them along. We actually had quite a bit of turnover on offense, which is the main concern in this thread. And that fact should illustrate that Hackett and Marrone have their own plan, and they should be allowed more than THREE games to implement what they're trying to do.
  18. Ok, I guess that's one way of looking at it, although any opposing coach knew exactly what Fitzpatrick brought to the table long before he donned a Bills uniform. So I don't agree. I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion. As the direction of this thread quickly went in, I've been talking specifically about Chan Gailey and Bills fans' sudden love for his offensive 'prowess', although more than likely, those same fans were screaming at the television (and then typing feverishly on TBD) about how inept of an OC he was at times. I've actually mentioned several times now that there are plenty of other coaches for Hackett to look at and study who are/were far better than Chan Gailey.
  19. If that's what you gleaned from any of my posts in this thread then there is no response I can give that will be satisfactory to you. This entire thread is a great example of how Bills fans on TBD seem to be split between those irrational folk who have one hand on the keyboard and one on the bottle and those who actually take a few seconds to think before going ahead and posting a thought. Not hard to figure out which camp you're in. Don't even try to tell me you read this entire thread before commenting. Pretty clear you read maybe the last page or so before swooping in and posting your snarky response. Your responses only continue to show how off base you are. You like to take what others say, ignore what they agree with you on, and then completely generalize what they may disagree with. Saying that Hackett won't be looking at Gailey's offenses is not the same as saying he and other coaches only draw from their own experiences and never study other coaches. And I believe this is the third time I've explicitly stated this--I don't think Gailey sucked. He did some things well and other things not so well. But please, continue to ignore that I've said that multiple times now.
  20. This is obvious, yet people seem to think Chan invented them. And yeah, I'm tired of the asinine threads and lines of thinking on this message board. Especially three games into the season.
  21. Dude, you just are way off, so it's hard to even respond. If you think this makes any sense then you don't understand how football/the NFL works. And I've agreed several times now that not everything Gailey did was bad. I'm not trying to be too scathing, but this mindset is childish. That's really the only way to describe it. It's just not how things are done in the NFL. What I'm disagreeing with is not necessarily your premise, but the fact that you think this is actually something that should/could be applied.
  22. Haha jesus do you even know how ludicrous what you're saying is? Have you ever heard of a coach being ousted and the new regime taking from his philosophies? Or a coach being demoted to a coordinator position then having a new HC come in? This is unprecedented, stupid thinking but many here are acting like it's a legit argument. Yeah, let's have a whole new regime come in, but wait--the new HC is going to run the old HC's offense. The answer to the bolded is that NO ONE does this. No new coaching staff will EVER F******** do this. They have their own philosophies and knowledge to draw from. They've worked their ways up into more prominent positions. They are going to do things how they see it best. And if you look at my previous posts, and almost all by people commenting on Gailey, it's acknowledged that not everything he did was bad. Some things were good. But these posts are some of the stupidest I've ever seen on TBD, and that's saying something
