  1. Don't even know why I follow the NFL when they let sh*t like this routinely happen I wish Marrone would rip the NFL and Goodell a new one during his presser. Take the fine--at least your guys will know you won't stand for this bullsh*t. No, Marrone will toe the line and just send off the video to the NFL and nothing will be done as usual.
  2. Wow, worse than I remembered it live. Just wow. We get that spot call right there we have what, 35 seconds at their 20? Damn. Cannot believe that wasn't called. I almost can't even physically stand it that that wasn't called. So pissed. After all the NFL said about putting an emphasis on those calls. And we get hit with an illegal contact auto 1st down on the Mario sack that would have made it 2nd and 30. And that wasn't even half the amount of contact that this one had. We played bad on offense, yes, but to not call that is pitiful.
  3. Lol well the OP's premise is that we are a great team--just not at QB. Many people would agree with that.
  4. Same here. Sucks that this is what it has come to. Honestly, when CJ breaks one to the outside I expect a flag lol. And another poster made mention of what I feel is the worst issue: the drive killing penalties that are often suspect. The ones that negate huge plays by our offense. Those are killer. Dude I stopped getting too bent out of shape about the refs after that abomination in the first Pats game two years ago where it was roughly 10 Bills penalties for 115 yards and the Pats 4 or 5 for around 30....in the FIRST HALF. 3 monster PI calls that set the Pats up with the ball on the 1 or converted a third down. I can't keep getting so mad about the refs. Nothing we can do.
  5. Why come on this thread then? Everyone knows that we were outplayed, and that there is a new game tomorrow. This is to discuss a legitimate part of the game against SD.
  6. Was Foles receptive or does he not swing that way?
  7. Exactly. We use those plays too because they're damn effective. Marrone is always careful to say the right thing publicly in regards to what the NFL wants to hear from its coaches.
  8. So wrong. But keep being a typical ridiculous Bills fan.
  9. JEEZ, if I have to read this one more frickin time. Stop acting like simply having a 1st round pick = getting a franchise QB. How hard is it to understand? The stud SB winning 1st rounders are almost always selected with the highest picks. The Bills roster is far too good to be picking that high.
  10. I understand your frustration, but what, exactly, have Foles and Cousins really done? We want playoff wins and super bowl rings, not flashy stats. Foles is in a good system--good for him. But how many playoff wins does he have? Wasn't Cousins 1-4 as a starter last year? We want to groom a Super Bowl winning QB, not just get a high stats guy. I mean look at Romo. The guy is a fantasy football stud, but who has any faith in him to bring the Cowboys to the promised land? What does it matter if you're not going to win a SB? Let's develop EJ into something special. There's something to be said about investing in someone and truly believing in them, giving them an opportunity to grow.
  11. Exactly. I just don't know what people expect. Really none of the anger should be directed at EJ because he's actually on a solid pace of progression. It didn't click for guys like Drew Brees till 30+ starts and now he's one of the best ever. If you want to be pissed, be pissed at Whaley (who I personally think is doing very well and I hope he's our GM for years and years) for not trading for or somehow picking up a veteran option to start at QB while EJ learns. But this team is in a tough spot--we have a playoff caliber roster but have a young QB who needs experience. He's not going to get better without playing, but a guy like Orton has seen pretty much everything a defense can bring at you and so is likely a better candidate for the team to win now. But EJ could develop into a Big Ben type QB...which will set this team up for a decade plus. He'll only get there by playing and taking his lumps.
  12. What a great analysis. It's interesting that EJ's biggest issues right now are not mechanical, as so many posters like to parrot. EJ's actually pretty damn good at evading initial pressure in his face, but like Joe B concluded, he panics once he successfully evades it--which sucks. He did the truly hard part and then doesn't make the defense pay they way QB's like Peyton, Rodgers, and Big Ben do. I don't know why so many Bills fans are up in arms over EJ. I see a lot of good stuff and his issues here (field awareness, decision making, accuracy) are things that will very likely improve with simple experience. I'm actually encouraged by this. If EJ"s accuracy issues were a result of just mechanics from a clean pocket I'd be worried. But this is the game still being too fast at times for him. The only way it'll slow down is to keep playing and keep getting these situations. Teams will likely start using this game plan that TB and SD used to rattle him, and you know what? He'll start learning how to beat it.
  13. Thanks for the clarification. I just watched it. I've seen players do that before and I don't necessarily think it was a shot at EJ, more like Chandler knew he was wide open and his QB missed him and he's just trying to keep himself psyched up and ready to get open on the next play.
  14. What does this mean? I don't understand.
  15. Good point here. Watching guys like Peyton and Big Ben do this consistently is a thing of beauty. Rivers, too. If EJ can develop this he will be a great QB in this league.
  16. He's right. Saying this defense is soft is borderline ridiculous. The offense needs to step up.
  17. Just don't understand when people say this. 1st round QB's fail at an alarmingly high rate. Finding a franchise QB isn't as easy as simply having a 1st round pick. Super Bowl winning QB's since 2000: 2000: Kurt Warner - UFA 2001: Trent Dilfer - rd 1 2002: Tom Brady rd 6 2003: Brad Johnson - rd 9 2004; Tom Brady - rd 6 2005: Tom Brady - rd 6 2006: Big Ben - rd 1 2007: Peyton Manning - rd 1 2008: Eli Manning - rd 1 2009: Big Ben - rd 1 2010: Drew Brees - rd 2 2011: Aaron Rodgers - rd 1 2012: Eli Manning - rd 1 2013: Joe Flacco - rd 1 2014: Russell Wilson - rd 3 Several of the Round 1 QB picks weren't even playing for the team that drafted them. It's not a sure thing. We selected one of the most dynamic players in the last 10 years. Quite possibly our Megatron. Even with bruised ribs Sammy showed how insanely good he is last week. There are other avenues to getting a franchise guy. I actually liked Cousins and would have liked to see us trade for him and have him compete with EJ. I like the Orton signing. But seriously, there's no guy that's going to be a sure thing next year. And most of those round 1 Super Bowl winning QB's were taken with the first couple picks. Our roster is way too talented to get higher than the 5th pick even if we implode. I hope we continue developing EJ and also look for other team's young backups like Cousins and others who show promise. And I'm sure Whaley and his staff will do that.
  18. Giving up 20 points to the San Diego offense is pretty darn good. 10 better than Seattle's vaunted D. This is on the offense.
  19. Wow, way to go from 0 to 60 there dude
  20. Did he make the pick before or after last night?
  21. I think there's nothing wrong with being this misinformed about teams other than your favorite, but don't spout off to other people like you know what you're talking about. Too many people like this frequent football message boards. Well, I guess the whole internet in general...
  22. There's a group of consistently rationale fans who are unfortunately overshadowed by the nutjobs
  23. Nice lol I'm honestly not surprised at all we are 2-0. I just hope they do what Marrone is preaching and continue to focus on improving.
  24. Just wondering--we had a super short kickoff that was fielded around the 15 and taken to about the 35. Think it was on the Wallace td drive. Did Gay kick that one or was that Carpenter? Seemed really short considering Gay has been really consistent.
