Oh is it old news for you? Are you sick of hearing about it now?

You're not welcome here - not sure why everyone's being so polite to you. I've had to suffer through 15 years of blatant ref abuse. Each game, the calls are constantly weighted towards the "better" opponent and it's sometimes so obvious it becomes the longest thread the next day. We get NO benefit of the doubt, and sometimes it feels like the planets must align before we can complete a 5 yard pass. We had probably 10 threads in the week leading up to the game PREDICTING CORRECTLY that this nonsense would happen.

But you're a pats fan and it happens to you one time and now you think it's all honky-dory?

The blown whistle happened BEFORE he threw the ball by the way. You were not robbed a touchdown. It was an embarrassment that they held a damn seminar to figure out what to do and awarded your team a catch we weren't defending AND tacked on 15 yards despite no flag being thrown. Your QB threw a pick in the 1st quarter, and it was taken back and that was so mundane and average no one is even talking about it... is it old though? really? it's old news?

Thank you. Jeez. Tired of this dipsh*t trolling around here pretending to be a friendly opposing team fan. And you are 100% correct--this is normal treatment for the Bills. One messed up play on national television and all of a sudden everyone cares about how terrible the refs are.

  2. Taylor: has to go. He can't pressure a team deep, especially over the middle. Bellichick game planned totally around containing the run and defending from 15 yards and in. And he can't feel pressure coming from his right side and gets blasted at the worst times. Get him out, ceiling is too low. He can't take us far.

2-minute offense: do we even have one?

Hughes: had a nice game both in coverage and getting pressure. And miraculously no PFs

Officiating: no blaming them this time. If anything it netted slightly in our favor

Overall: we're a sloppy team, they're not. That's a glimpse of how a real champ plays.

You are out of your mind on essentially all points here

  3.

Yeah, that one pissed me off.

Jesus, you want to blow the flag at the hint of contact on a pass play, or is someone breathes wrong on a starting QB, but man, if a defensive player yanks the helmet of a Buffalo Bill...man, you just have to let people play. I swear, this league is becoming the WWE.

Been like this for quite a while now. Just getting worse to the point of absurdity though.

  4. Agreed!

We finally have a guy who looks like he could be something, and yet rather than realizing he needs experience to develop, some crush him instead. Jeez! another lesson in some people are never happy I guess. It's okay to point out an opinion on what he needs to work on, it's another thing to say he sucks as a lot of posters on here do.

Yeah it's bizarre. You simply do not lead the league in completion percentage through 10 weeks--with what, the 3rd highest YPA??--without being very accurate (obviously). And you do not achieve such accuracy without going through your progressions consistently and throwing them open. Is every throw going to be perfect? Of course not. People parroting that TT does not go through his progressions have absolutely no idea what they're talking about and are trying to sound like they do. Also consider that the QB does not need to go through every one of his options on every passing play.

I understand people are hesitant to crown TT, and that's totally fine. I'm not doing so either. I'm sure he will continue to work on improving and experience is a big part of that.

  5. When he talks about the "timing" and "being late", I think he's referring to he isn't seeing Sammy beat his guy early. He releases the ball after the WR has steps of separation. It's just another way of pointing out TT's issue with progressions.

This isn't even accurate though. Some instances, sure, but TT is actually very good at anticipating and leading his receivers, often before they come out of their breaks. There are plenty of examples I've seen of this. All of the arm chair scouts and analysts here need to relax. Wow, Kevin Gilbride said a few things. Who cares. It has been proven over and over that these guys often don't know what they're talking about and I'm sure Gilbride hasn't studied TT all that close.

  6. It didn't take much effort in assessing TT to conclude that he wasn't completing passes after going through his progressions. At this point he is completing passes with his first read and after extending plays. That's very evident at this point. The challenge for our athletic qb is to become more adept at reading defenses and maturing his game. Will it get dramatically better this season? Probably not. But if he can steadily get better with that aspect of the game with more playing time then that is a good sign.

There are no guarantees for success. Qbs such as Kaepernick and RGIII have not gone beyond relying on their athleticism. And because of that they have regressed as qbs. The issue for TT is the same. Will he work at his craft to advance at the mental side of the game? I believe he will knowing that just because you can't be at a superior level at reading defenses and going through your progressions doesn't mean that you can't upgrade that aspect of the game to the point where you can still be a good qb.

By the end of the season we should have a good sense as to whether he is capable of doing it or not.

Haha, I love how this is suddenly 'fact' because it's one guy says so. This isn't even true, but I'm others will also parrot this without any real knowledge.

  7.

Streaky in terms of sacks/stats? You mean like the rest of the DEs/OLBs in the NFL? Chandler Jones, leading the league in sacks, has 7.5 of his 10.5 sacks in 3 games. Streaky. JJ Watt, 2nd in the NFL in sacks, has 6.5 of his 9.5 sacks in 3 games. Streaky. Justin Houstons 7.0 sacks have come in just 4 games. Streaky.

Yeah. Calling him streaky and focusing on only sacks is just dumb. A basic mindset on what a DE actually does, especially in this particular defensive system.

  8. I think in the endzone it may be different. Like the ball passing the plane automatically is a TD. You surely only need that much time as OBJ held the ball when it's on the sideline. Like if the pass was two yards outside of where it was and he's just catching it and keeping his feet in bounds that's a catch. I think as soon as you come down with the ball in control in the endzone it's a score. The play stops. That's what people are arguing. It's close.

That makes sense when someone is already in possession of the ball before it crosses the EZ plane. When possession doesn't start until the player is already in the EZ like with this ODB play, you have to clearly establish possession for the play to be 'dead' like you're describing. I don't think it was all that close because Beckham clearly hadn't established possession before it was knocked out. Yeah, both feet were down and in bounds, but he hadn't yet secured the ball imo.

  9.

Has the internet declared Beckham's play a drop, like they did with Evans?

Again, to me, it was obviously not a catch. You have to possess the ball for a certain amount of time in my opinion, which is part of completing the process of the catch. He had the ball for a split second. How is that a catch? Seriously? It's ludicrous that people think that was a catch. The Evans play was a bit more arguable, because Lee possessed the ball a fraction longer. But again, he didn't complete the process of the catch.

If it keeps going like this, people are going to declare it a catch as soon as the ball touches a receiver's hands. WTF. You have to hold on to the ball and the DB should have more than a fraction of a second to make a play on it once the WR gets his hands on it.

I just watched it several more times. What are people thinking here? I don't even think it's arguable that that was a touchdown catch by Beckham. He hadn't even secured it before it was knocked out.

  10. What's tough is a lot of the same people that yell it's too complicated would be yelling "you've got to account for that" if simplified.

The act of a catch can encompass such a huge range of interactions between the body, ball, field of play and defender that there isn't an easy fix to defining a catch. Could it be tweaked? Probably.

But I'm guessing the confusion these days comes a lot more from access to 16 camera angles at 16 games and 6million fans willing to break down every last second of it- where 20 years ago you saw at most 2-3 games and a short highlight reel that you discussed with 3 coworkers and 2 family members

Yep. Great point. The technology that in theory should make these things easier has actually had the opposite effect somewhat.

  11.

The reason people believe that might be a catch is that plays like it have been ruled a touchdown in the past.

Remember last year's Golden Tate touchdown. He got two feet down and then lost the ball. Initially ruled no catch and an interception, but reversed on review. After the game, the NFL insisted that this was the correct call because he had caught the ball with two feet down, established himself as a runner, and was not going to the ground.

While I would argue that neither the OBJ or Tate plays should have been called a catch, I'm not going to criticize anyone for believing differently given the inconsistency of the NFL on what is a catch.

WOW. Great find. Forgot about that. I feel like the NFL has opened a giant can of worms with how complicated they have made everything. When I watch the Tate play, to me, it's obviously not a catch. Same with the Beckham play, which as someone else mentioned, was very similar to the Lee Evans play.

  12. Last week Dareus was really sick and almost didn't play, this week Mario is ill and absent. We need em both for Patriots game, get it together boys.

Our offensive line is not great, but this makes 2 consecutive games where they have blasted open some serious holes for the runners against some of the best run stoppers in the league like Suh, Wilkerson etc. Nice job boys, keep it up.

Why can't we put Karlos 7 yards deep in the backfield and let him use the momentum to pound instead of lining him up only three yards deep next to TT in the shotgun on every play he's involved in?

This season continues to confound us, with Robey struggling and Darby looking like the vet, our front 7 looking lukewarm and Roman doing trick plays in short yardage situations instead of hammering it in there with our awesome rb duo.

Leodis looks rusty but catching up.

Sammy had Revis completely smoked on a few of those routes, including the double move on the early longball. Evidence of a short week to prepare, otherwise he and TT are in the same page and he puts that throw on the money to open the game with an 80 yarder.

Either way Revis is probably feeling lucky he didn't give up too much tonite because he can't handle Sammy very well at all. Forget the low numbers Watkins had, Revis can't be looking forward to coming to Buff in the cold and trying to contain him again.

This stuff is making me laugh and also shake my head. Robey gets beat on a couple plays last night and suddenly he's a liability and he's been struggling all year? Haha, just so untrue. He has played just fine and made a ton of great plays. Just goes to show what groupthink can do. People here just parrot what a few other people start saying and then it's fact.

Jets reminded me of a mirror image of ourselves:

    - subpar QB

    - good defense but yet folds at the wrong time

    - offense that goes into hybernation

    - questionable coaching decisions....going for it on 4th and 4 when a FG would have cut lead to 2 and then counting on your D that had shut down Bills to get the ball back with 2+ mins left and an FG wins

    - costly turnovers, drops, and penalties

Fortunately they were more Bills-like tonight than we were

The people saying things like this about TT are seriously off base. What are you all watching??

  13. Where have all the SJ13 supporters gone?

Typical SJ13. Dumb penalties, no awareness of important game situations. Just a terrible player.

Gailey benched him and I remember people being upset. Dude has been in the league 10 years now and still doesnt learn.

Whaley and company were changing the loser mentality environment until the Pegulas got swept off their feet by the smooth talking Rex!

    Terrible? Wow.

  14. The Niners will be drafting a QB this next draft.... and cue the Bills fans who will want Kaepernick as QB because he played well for a year or so. Just like they want RG3, Ryan Mallett, and every other lousy option out there.

Understand guys that last year the 49ers had a top 10 defense, and were the #4 team in the NFL in rushing with a very solid offensive line. a 1k rusher in Gore, a good WR corps with Bolden, Stevie, Crabtree, Vernon Davis. That 2014 team went 8-8 mostly because of bad QB play!

This year they are 2-6 mostly because of bad QB play. You guys complain about EJ, and yet Kaepernick threw 4 INT's against Arizona while going 9 of 19 for 67 yards passing ALL GAME!

Holy crap if EJ had a game that bad we would find him the next day somewhere in Buffalo on a cross with spikes in his hands, and feet!!

I'm honestly surprised at the amount of QB talk around TBD. I'm feeling Tyrod as the face of the Buffalo Bills for the next decade hopefully.

  15. The officiating in that Seahawks-Cowboys game was the worst I've seen all season...and that is really saying something.

The timeout fiasco was abominable. Pete Carroll calls a 2nd timeout during the same stoppage, which is an automatic 15-yard penalty. Instead of assessing the penalty, the officials stop the game, tell him he cannot do that, and then place the ball back into play, at which time Seattle snaps the ball with 12 men on the field.

Then, instead of assessing a penalty for too many men, they say that they erred in not allowing Seattle to substitute since they called a timeout (one that should've been a 15-yard penalty), and therefore there is no penalty for too many men.

And then a penalty for a "blind side block" on Ricardo Lockette, when Lockette himself tried to push the guy that laid him out (Heath). They were face to face, and Heath made the better play. There's not a penalty for hitting too hard in the rule book.

    Total and complete incompetence.

The NFL is doing so well financially they don't even seem to care that their refs are consistently bad across the board.
